10/10 A Perfect Ten

I have been training with Ari for close to a year. Ari is a highly qualified instructor--his raft of certifications hanging on his gym wall is a reflection of his commitment and dedication to personal fitness. He takes the time to demonstrate the proper technique for each exercise so that students avoid the risk of getting injured. In addition, Ari is attentive and can customize exercises for certain students who are impaired with certain physical movements or work with students to ameliorate muscle movements to perform certain exercises such as the Turkish Get Up and/or the Snatch. Before I found Ari via Yelp.com, I've done some crossfit training at a franchised gym which I injured my knee and had to have surgery. After surgery, I tried to regain strength and conditioning by doing spin classes at FlyWheel. I did not feel FlyWheel could help me lose the pounds and the love handles (Michelin tires) around my waist. But after I met Ari and attended his classes, my waist line is down and I feel more confident about myself. I also have more energy and experienced less pain from my neck, shoulders, and hands--resulting from sitting in front of the computer for work and school. I am a happy client. I think Ari is a hidden gem in Forest Hills. And I look forward to continue my training with Ari.

I've worked with Ari several times over the last few years and I highly recommend you stop looking any further if you need a training coach. He holds wonderful knowledge and energy and easily shares that with his students and colleagues. I look forward to working with him again - strength has no borders - and I hope he visits Canada one day soon!
10/10 Incredible coach that gets the best out of people

Ari is a natural motivator with an incredible eye for detail and an even more amazing ability to spot the little things that make big differences. Whether he's improving a student's form to eek out more strength or better performance, knowing which drills will best work with each person, motivating people to work at their best and enjoy doing it, it's when he opens his generous heart and ability to know just how much, what, and when you need some tough love, laughter or a softer touch that he shines as one of the best coaches out there. I would fly to NY to train with him any day, knowing that I would leave a better student and instructor. No hesitation to give him a 10/10.

Attention to detail without being too overwhelming. Ari makes strength gains fun and enjoyable with better than expected results. I could not asked to have worked with a better trainer and person. Walk into his gym, set your goals, and he'll help you not only reach them, but exceed them. Scratch that, RUN to his gym!

I started taking Ari's total body classes about 3 years ago. He knowledge is unbelievable!! Routines were varied and focused and not the ususal repetiative weight training. All body parts were used!! He opened a gym and I started with 1 class and now attend twice a week. He challenges you in a manner that encourages you to try harder. I'm on the "oldish" side and when I feel I cannot do something, he always has an alternative for me, while not making me feel old!!! and he's entertaining!!! you will not be disappointed.

Prior to starting kettle bell training with Ari, I was always hesitant of having a trainer due to bad experiences I, family members, and friends had. With some coaxing, I went for my first class and was hooked within the first five minutes. If yoga isn't your thing, you're looking to get strong and lean, and feel your very best, take a kettle bell class with Ari. You won't regret it.

I see a kettlebell in my local gym. I pick it up and promptly put it down. So simple in construction yet I don't have a clue how to use it. The thing looks like it was made by a blacksmith and belongs next to a medieval suit of armour. I'm intrigued but am not about to hurt myself by predictably using it like a typical dumbbell. That's like comparing apples and oranges. Now most guys never ask for directions or admit when they are lost and I am no exception. But this time was different. I wanted professional instruction. This is how I met Ari. I googled kettlebell, class, and NYC. The search results led me almost exclusively to pharaohsarmyfitness.com. In other words, he is the authority in the New York City vicinity. Personally, I am not crazy about group classes. I was self conscious being around veteran students swinging their bells with razor sharp form. But what I realized is that Ari is a professional trainer through and through. Credentials aside, at the end of the day he has a certain charisma that keeps me happy, motivated, and wanting more.
10/10 Ari is the real deal!

I first saw Ari teach at my old gym and used to watch him teach his small training classes in kettlebells and TRX (suspension training). He seemed to know what he was doing and I could tell that the students were serious about learning proper kettlebell technique as he was serious about teaching them. So when he opened his own gym, I took a leap of faith and signed up. I have not looked back since. Initially I signed up for TRX. He would occasionally add a kettlebell exercise to my TRX class which was great as I had some trepidation of the kettlebell. With those occasional exercises, I gained the confidence to add kettlebells to my routine. His patience and ability to gauge your strengths and weaknesses have allowed me to go beyond my expectations and do things that I thought were once impossible. He has the ability to explain a concept whether by using a visual or real life example to make the point.
His desire to constantly learn and improve through continuing education, seminars, certifications and workshops shows his dedication to not only improving himself but to enhancing our experience as well.
In the one year that I have been going to Ari’s gym, I have become stronger and more confident of my abilities than in all my years of going to a big box gym. People who come to this gym know that they will learn and that they will become stronger. You WILL work hard because you will want to constantly exceed expectations. There is great camaraderie here and having fun is just icing on the cake. You will NOT regret joining this gym.

For the past 7 months, Sunday has started my countdown until I go to Ari’s class on Saturday. He transmits a force and positive energy that snaps me into focus. He keeps training simple, productive and rewarding. Ari’s eyes and cues are efficient--on a particular day he finds the one gem that is magic for a person; one day for me it was finding my rhythm to 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” for a better-timed hip extension and breathing for my snatch practice.
I hate missing time with Ari at Pharaoh’s Army because when I am there, I’m focused, having fun and simply getting stronger in every way, from my booty to my heart. It helps that the other people training there are inspirational, too. Who knows, maybe he makes them better, maybe they make him better...
As a personal trainer working in physical therapy and fitness and training for my SFG 1 certification, the knowledge and training I have gained from Ari has been valuable beyond what I can adequately explain. I use it everyday with patients and clients and in my own training. I haven’t just learned about kettlebells, I’ve learned to “Do Work,” “Get Money,” and to “Trust the process.”
10/10 An incredible coach that leads by example...

I have been training with Ari for several months now in preparation for SFG level 1 certification. I have been more than impressed by his coaching style, use of global cues, and methodology during that time, and as I continue to train with him. I have been a trainer for over 12 years and a Physical Therapist for 4 years, I can easily say Ari ranks in the top tier category of strength coaches, trainers, and Kettlebell practitioners bar none.
For my upcoming SFG certification, I feel confident and prepared to perform at my best. With Ari, its no nonsense training with intelligent programming and all encompassing words of advice.
I'd strongly recommend training with Ari, to anyone interested in getting stronger, preparing for a certification, getting in shape, and/or becoming more physically and mentally resilient.
Toughness and strength is the name of the game at the pyramid!...Make no mistake. I feel very lucky to enter such an environment on a regular basis. When I leave, I feel accomplished and stronger, eager to come back.
10/10 A Jedi Walks Among Us ...

As a fellow instructor, I sought Ari out to clean up my technique on the basic lifts. As he mentions, we are all "eternal beginners."
There's something about a coach that can cut right through to what their student needs. As far as technique, he WILL bring you up to standard. What sets him apart as a teacher is the WAY he chooses to go about it. He finds out what makes you tick and uses that to drive the point home. He can get through to his students in a way few coaches can. I learned IMMENSELY under his guidance and I also picked up a few tricks to help some of my own students!
Although I am based out of Manhattan, it was definitely worth the trip out to Kew Gardens. I can't recommend Ari highly enough. The man's a kettlebell Jedi.
10/10 Top Notch coaching - Tough but tender

Coach Ari Harris is unlike any trainer - any person - I've ever met. He will encourage you softly and not let you get away with technique flaws. He is tough. He is exactly what I needed.
He has an uncanny ability to see what you need as an individual. He can also see how you can contribute to your group class. I've experienced private and team coaching, and his classes are as thorough and smart as his private sessions.
I'm happy to commute nearly an hour each way just to take his morning classes. Even with a decent background in biomechanics and anatomy, I see the special skills Coach Harris brings to the table.
Save yourself time, money, and effort and hire Coach Harris. I am so thankful I found him.

What can I say about the Pharaoh that hasn't already been said? He is not only an exceptional trainer/strength coach, but he is an exceptional person. Don't take Ari's rally cry, "Get Money" the wrong way. You're health and well being come first. I've been lucky to have Ari as a friend and as a training partner. He reps the OG string guys proudly. Like me, he is always on the quest to expand his knowledge base while honing his existing still set. Queen's is in good hands. Ari will not disappoint. I'd send a swagger clap his way, but Ari's been holding out on me and hasn't shown me one yet. GET MONEY!

10/10 Ari's the best!

As a certified Pilates instructor who strongly believes in the Pilates method, I was skeptical of introducing my body to kettlebells. After working one-on-one with Ari, I immediately felt the benefits. His ability to communicate the details of the biomechanics and proper body alignment allowed us to progress within one hour, so I still experienced a great workout covering the basics. The two days following our workout were painful in the best way possible. I have a hard time accessing my medial hamstrings and glutes, and they were the most sore! I cannot imagine having learned from a better instructor than Ari. His selfless nature and vast knowledge are what makes him unique. Thank you, Ari!

Ari was one of my instructors at the San Jose RKC in February 2013. Any one who is invited to teach at an RKC has already proven to be an outstanding kettlebell athlete and instructor. In that distinguised group, Ari stands out for his approachable, encouraging, and team-oriented approach. Ari knows how to build morale and create a can-do feeling within a group. Ari's great sense of humor had me laughing when I needed it most. I would happily attend anything Ari taught because I know he would work me very hard, I would learn a huge amount and I would have fun doing it.

Ari helped me tremendously through his knowledge of the subject matter, willingness to help, and outstanding ability to teach and motivate during my RKC certification weekend. 10/10 Clap Clap Clap!!
By Josh

I had the pleasure of training under Ari at the San Jose RKC in 2013. Ari brought the hype from 8am on Friday morning all the way through to our Grad workout to end the weekend. The hype was fun and motivating but Ari is more than just that. As we were training throughout the weekend he would share insightful nuggets of information that yielded big changes and when I connected the dots with his cues he would be the first one to congratulate me.
One specific drill Ari ran with me was the clipboard swing. I wasn't getting deep enough into my hinge and Ari grabbed a clipboard and knelt behind me and told me to find the clipboard, SWING, TAP, SWING, TAP, SWING, TAP... and boom swing starting to clean up, it was magic. With the immediate auditory feedback and Ari's encouragement my swing improved.
Ari is fun and knowledgeable and will provide any individual he works with a great service both physically and mentally.

I had the privilege of learning from Ari at my RKC in San Jose. He could zero in on my flaws and cue me into a better position in no time. He could provide the extra details and advanced techniques that resulted in improved performance. On top of his knowledge, he has a passion for helping others and "bringing it" every day. His enthusiasm helped push us out of our comfort zones and into the "swagger zone". I would highly recommend Ari to whip you into shape.

He is a torch-bearer who, I am proud to say, directed me to be much better at what I do.

I've been taking Ari's Kettle class for about a month now and really enjoy it. I've had him in other classes before and have always liked his method of teaching.

It's been about two months since I began kettlebell workouts with Ari. I am stronger and more confident than ever before. Although I'm in a kettlebell class, Ari makes me feel like I'm in a private lesson. Somehow he knows my potential and uses that knowledge to push me every class. Ari's constant attention to correct form fosters strength and endurance. I run and swim but it is Ari's kettlebell class that has changed my body and moved me closer to my ultimate fitness goals.

By Noreen

Ari is a great instructor. I was very skeptical about trying kettlebells and trx, mostly because I was intimidated by my lack of physical ability, but Ari is really helping me with that. He provides the motivation that I need to get my butt back to the gym week after week and a workout that is different and challenging so that I don't get bored, fall into a rutt and then fall off the work out wagon... which is the last thing I need. Over the last 8 weeks, I have seen my arms and my core become firmer, my posture more improved, and, after class, I sleep like a baby. I have worked with personal trainers before, and nothing they dished out had me nearly as excited as Ari's classes. All I can really say is that if I found out about Ari'sbutt-kicking workouts sooner, my wallet would be a lot fatter and I would be a lot happier. Thanks for everything. :)

Ari is an excellent trainer and instructor bc he has the natural charm to get you motivated and the skill and know-how to get you learning and doing things you would never have believed you could! On day one ari showed us things that I never thought I would be able to do in my lifetime. but with a lot of humor, patience, and careful instruction, as well as a very clear understanding of each persons particular body and his or her kinks, ari gets you learning and moving and before you know it you are getting much stronger and doing really cool stuff!
10/10 From zero to... well, something better than zero
By Melissa

I could not recommend Ari Harris higher.
I don't come from any sort of a fitness/athletic background. For 33 years, I was under the impression that I was incapable of any sort of athletic feat, believing that people were either gifted or they just weren't. And I was sure I wasn't. But in 2012, when both my sister and mother were diagnosed with diseases exacerbated by a lifetime's disregard for their physical health, I knew something had to change. I had to change.
I got involved with Ari Harris' TRX/Kettlebell course in July of 2012 through some friends who couldn't speak more highly of him and his classes. By that time, I hadn't progressed much from walking and a brief period with a gym trainer who didn't want me to do too much leg pressing because it would "make your thighs too big." Within the first series of eight courses with Ari, I realized the impossible. Not only did Ari Harris think I was capable of performing feats of athleticism (or a reasonable approximation of such), but I thought I was capable.
For the first time in my life I realized that I could do a 50 mile walk for MS (a fundraiser for my sister). And I was excited about it! Wonders never cease.
Although I'm a little sad about all the wasted time, I'm excited about the future too.
I could not recommend Ari Harris any higher. I completely trust him (which is essential when swinging heavy weights as a perennial desk worker with wimpy shoulders) and think if you're in the Metro NY area (or even NJ or LI!), you should definitely drop in for a class. Or two. Or forever.

I remember the day I was first introduced to Ari. Here and there I would take his total body conditioning class and abs class. Each class I attended I was highly motivated to achieve the results I was looking for. Walking out of a class one evening Kettle Bell caught my eye and who was instructing? The one and only Ari. I watched until the class was over and asked a series amount of questions, right then and there I had to join. Now, till this day I attend Kettle bell each Tuesday and Saturday. Ari pushes you to get what you want, and is highly dedicated to his participants as they show up for class. He is energetic and a very intense trainer. As a trainer he learns your strengths and weaknesses and assists you on your most troublesome struggles. He will reward to those who work the hardest and will point out at anytime you begin to slack around. Ari has highly motivated me to reach my goal and to build the muscle that I have been yearning to have. His classes are all about getting fit, accomplishing what he says and sometimes having fun, who knows! I know my time with Ari has definitely been worth it and still looking forward to work with him in to accomplishing my goal.
P.S You will definitely notice a change in your body after working out with Ari even in the shortest amount of time! See Ari!

I first approached Ari after observing both his sports conditioning class as well as his small group classes. I was bored with my routine, and was looking for a new challenge and change. His classes are unique and inspiring. Ari motivates me, never lets me slack, always pushes me above and beyond what I think I can handle, and most importantly, teaches. I have been working out for over 15 years, and never did anyone both point out my weaknesses AND teach me how to fix them. In the five weeks I have been working with him, I have learned a tremendous amount and have gotten significantly stronger. He is smart, ambitious, talented, and genuinely cares about his students. Cant ask for much more in an instructor.

The first class I attended of Ari's was on a early Saturday morning and the class was packed. I was shocked to see such dedication from everybody but soon realized it was because Ari is that fantastic of an instructor! During the short time I have attended his group classes, I have grown stronger. What I like about Ari is that he pushes you but always keeps in mind any injuries you may have. I find him funny and especially like it when he breaks up pain of exercise by breaking into a dance move. I attended a demo of his kettle bell/ suspension training class which I was apprehensive at first because I hurt my lower back years ago. Ari gave me some stretching exercises to help and they have. In a class full of people he will make sure I have my power house turned on and will push me to challenge myself. I value his expertise and method of training. If there is a chance he will not be there, I will call ahead and make sure he is before heading to the gym.

I took Ari's Kettlebell seminar a little over a week ago, and I must say it was one of the best training seminars I've attended yet! Very knowledgeable, attentive, patient and able to point out areas you should focus on improving. We even got an effective workout out of this seminar. I had my FMS done by Ari, and I can't tell you the relief I felt when he finally was able to pin point my weaknesses. He helped me improve my form with a couple of my workout routines, and areas where I need to focus on more. I was used to working out and not pin point why I couldn't get stronger with certain of my workout routines...Ari pointed out my weakness and how to improve and strengthen!

5 years ago i joined nysc and was very lucky to take my first class with him. I remember asking the receptionist if the sports conditioning class was good because i didn't want anything not challenging, her response was "oh my god, yeah his class is one of the best ones" Sure enough i showed up and almost died during the "warm up" but kept on going to his classes and even followed him around gyms. During my work breaks i would even wake up at 5 a.m. to take the train to go into manhattan to take his 6 a.m. class!
I have been involved in sports my whole life, and in 20 years of exercising i can honestly say Ari is one of the best trainers i have met. He pushes you to the limit, and is always mixing up the work outs so that they don't get boring. I know every time i go to his class i will encounter an insane challenging work out that i will never regret. ps: i hate when he has subs!!! the selfish part of me wishes he never went away LOL

I have been a member of NYSC for a long time. Over the past years I have also taken fitness classes including: boot camp/sports conditioning, total body workout, club strength, spin, etc. During the fall of 2010, I started taking this boot camp class taught by a different instructor . Toward the end of 2010 I was out of town for an extended business trip and did not go to this class. During that time, this teacher went to another club and was replaced by Ari.
2011 started out with a pleasant surprise with Ari running the show. His boot camp class was a step up, more intense than any other class that I had taken before. I look forward to taking his classes as he teaches several boot camp / sport conditioning sessions each week. Each class is different from the previous one. I know that I am guaranteed a good workout as Ari leaves no room for slacking. I am amazed at how he motivates an entire class while pushing each individual, no matter how many participants show up for the class.
Another impressive thing about Ari is that he has a diverse following as he engages all age ranges and fitness levels who want to do better.
You may even laugh a bit as Ari brings his fun sense of humor to the program.
I am also motivated by Ari’s dedication toward his own professional and fitness goals (A role model for sure). I know that I have to give my 100% when participating in his classes. I believe that the above also applies to his Kettlebell sessions.

I have been following Ari through Facebook for quite some time and have had the pleasure of meeting and learning from him and his extensive experience in physical training a number of times this past year - first at the Easy Strength Seminar in March in Reno, NV, next in Omaha, NE, and again during the Marketing Mastermind Workshop in San Diego. His years as a personal trainer have served him well - not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, but his thirst for more and greater knowledge is unquenchable. He is the model of continuing education and physical improvement - no matter the cost, no matter the hardship - and as a result, he stands head and shoulders above the majority of trainers out there, and he keeps climbing! I'm lucky to be able to learn from him and call him a friend. If you get a chance to train and learn with him, go for it. You'll be better when you leave than when you walked in!

Ari is a very intense instructor who will push you beyond your preconceived limits. He runs a tough, no nonsense class, but if you work hard and push yourself it is both fun and rewarding. Ari will yell at you to finish a set, but is also quick to give instruction if your form is off or if you are having trouble with an exercise. Taking his sports conditioning class is the most efficient way to spend an hour at the gym. Every class is different and you are always working multiple parts of your body. Ultimately, if your idea of a good workout is not being able to walk for 2 days, Ari is your guy!

If you want to spend your time at the gym actually working out, you would take Ari's class. I have taken a lot of different classes with a lot of different instructors and I have never found someone as good as Ari. Every class that he teaches is well thought out, focuses on proper form and technique, and will push your body to limits that you thought that you could never endure. If your not afraid to sweat and you want to make the time that you have at the gym worthwhile then spend just an hour with Ari and you will work harder than you ever have before.

In this day and age, working out has been so incredibly dumbed down that movements not requiring the use of machines are looked at as abnormal. "Glitz and glamour" is the term associated with physically fitness and the meaning of the word "strength," is lost on most gym goers . Thankfully, we have Ari K. Harris to remind the world that the mantra "No Pain No Gain" is not forgotten.
Ari's commitment towards the annihilation of the body's preconceived limits is both inspiring and daunting. However, through the use of his own unique motivation tactics, he is able to make everyone feel capable. Giving individual help, both during and after class, Ari makes sure his students always push their limits yet never without first making sure their form is correct. This dedication to his craft, combined with his willingness to answer any and all questions asked by his followers, is what makes Ari a rare personal trainer.
Lastly, while Ari's classes are welcome to people from all walks of life, they are ideally meant for people looking to actually experience a "work out." Those faint of hard and weak of mind would do well to stick to their once a week zumba session,

I walked into Ari's class about 5 years ago by accident. When I entered the room he told me to do 25 body builders. I thought to myself this dude is crazy. I was right. He’s nuts about pushing you to your limit. It was the most intense exercise class I had ever done. Imagine 60 minutes of non-stop cardio and strength drills. From bear crawl to mountain climbers, lunges, pistols, dive bombers, and running up and down 4 flight of stairs twice in between cycles. I thought I was going to die. When I came up the stairs I had to run to the next cycle to do pushups (my least favorite exercise). I was out of breath. But he wouldn’t let me quit. Before I entered this class I considered myself pretty fit. But I was wrong. I made it through that first class and haven’t stopped since. Ari’s approach to fitness is very effective. His classes are always challenging and the routines vary from week to week. Well, he definitely keeps me on my toes. Even after 5 years I’m still out of breath after his sport conditioning class.
I can definitely say I’m fit now. I can see the definition in my arms, legs, and other parts of my body. I can also do more pushups now…thank you Ari:). If you’re looking for a kickass workout or just looking to challenge yourself, Ari is the man for you.

For three years I attended Ari’s classes (Sports Conditioning, Body Conditioning and Boxing) at Forest Hills branch of NYSC, he is the most dedicated and innovative instructors I have come across. His intense focus and originality in his teachings will help you become a more focused, disciplined, and not to forget a stronger individual physically and mentally. And this carries over to parts of your life outside of the gym as well.
When I started I did the typical weight training and machine cardio routines which became ineffective after a few months of gains. I realized I hit a plateau and needed a total revamp of my workouts. Plus spending all that time on that treadmill I started to feel like a hamster. In came Ari and his classes. I was intimidated at first and just observed what his classes involved especially Sports Conditioning. One day I realized I was not going to go anywhere if I am going to sit by the sidelines observing so I pulled the trigger and started attending his classes when they took place. I am very glad that I did. The all around full body workouts combine both cardio and weight training and able to survive the intensity is an accomplishment all in itself.
With Ari’s Body Conditioning classes his routines showed me to look at weights at a different and more productive angle. I can say from a few of his techniques I got much more of a workout with a ten pound weight than hauling around a forty pound dumbbell. In his boxing classes the best part of it all is the sparring with Ari and beating the crap out of the punching bag. After a day in the office it is quite therapeutic I have to admit.

Ari is simply the best! I've taken his class for the past year now and have done personal training with him. He not only kicks you into gear, but he helps you modify if needed. I have knee problems and with every exercise he modifies them so that my knees are not an issue. When you go to Ari's class, you know that you're getting the best work out ever. Every time we go, we hate him during the class(which is what you want from an instructor!), but walk out saying how happy we are that we made it! We look forward to taking his class every week!

Ari is hands down the best instructor in NYSC. I first met Ari about 4 years ago when he was the sub for a sports conditioning class I took regularly at the time. Me & my gym partner were so impressed with his class that we stopped going to the class at our home gym (blocks from our apartments) and started traveling by subway to get to the gyms where Ari teaches. Yes, he's worth the trip!
As a competitive athlete, it's not always easy to find a challenging class. In the 4 years I've been taking Ari's sports conditioning and boxing classes, I can honestly say I've never been disappointed. Every workout is well planned out, unique and extremely challenging. Ari is an in your face, tough instructor who won't let you slack. If he knows you're capable of something, he won't let you give any less. He will push you and you will get results! Ari is an expert in his craft with multiple certifications & an impressive base of knowledge about all things sports/fitness related. If you're looking for someone to motivate, push and challenge you, look no further.

I've been a regular in Ari's classes for over 2yrs now. His workouts are hard and there's no bullshit. If you want someone you can talk to about your kids and your weekend, this isn't the instructor for you. Go to class and get ready to work. Hard. You will sweat. You will get winded. You will be sore. It's so rewarding when you leave! If you're slacking, he will point you out. If he knows you got more in you, you will be pushed. Give it your all - have fun! I don't bother with any other classes, I get it all done in Sports Conditioning (ie. feels like NFL tryouts) and Kettlebells. Ari's hands down the best at what he does and he takes it seriously.

Ari is a first-rate personal trainer and coach. He is not one of those "trainers" who goes on TV every week or writes articles for glossy magazines- he is out there everyday working with people in both group classes and one-on-one. His passion is obvious from his energy and originality with his programming. He is also constantly attending conferences and seminars to learn more and improve his craft.
Many people have mentioned the intensity/awesomeness of his group classes, which is true. I also personal trained with him for 3 years while living in New York and I don't know if I'll ever find better. He's the only personal trainer I've ever had who was worth MORE than what I paid for him. He will push you to your limits, but he is always encouraging and he will make you stronger and fitter. He is also a total professional- he never cancelled last minute or was late for a session. I could tell he had always put thought into creating workouts designed to help me meet my fitness goals and that I'd enjoy. I always left feeling like jelly after a session, but I always had fun.
If I could afford it, I'd fly him out to where I live now on a weekly basis. He is the best in the NYC area, period. Everyone should do themselves a favor and get to one of his classes or try a personal session with him!

I started taking total body conditioning classes with Ari, and while I was waiting for the class to begin I got to see how he tortured people during sports conditioning (boot camp) , and every Monday I used to say to myself, in my next birthday I will take this class, and 1 year pass and nothing, I was so scare. One day I just decide to take it, since that day, that is my favorite class even though I’m still scare before the class start. After you take an Ari’s class you feel like you can do whatever you want , so strong, so motivated to keep in good health.
In the last weeks I’ve been going to a different nysc around nyc , looking for good boot camp classes, and it’s official Ari’s classes are the best no class are like his.

I first came to Ari's class in 2009. I met his mother in that class, and let me tell you, even his momma was getting tortured. I think she was helping him kick my butt that day! My body composition truly changed with all the exercises and routines he came up with! I sweat in the first 2 minutes of class! He tortures you something terrible but your body responds! I'm also a huge fan because he knows what he's doing! He's constantly out of the country perfecting his craft. As an avid fitness enthusiast and mud run competitor I'd tried an uncountable number of classes, trainers and fitness regimens. I had pushed my body to its limits...or so I had thought. Then I happened to walk into Ari Harris' class one day. The WARM UP was tougher than most full workouts I've done. The workout itself was well crafted, challenging and downright sadistic (but in an awesome way)! I was hooked, and couldn't stay away from the class. EVERY SINGLE CLASS WAS DIFFERENT! It kept my body guessing and as a result kept my progress moving forward rapidly. Ari pushes you to the very limit. His style of motivation is truly unique and it WORKS. His energy is contagious and you can't help but want to keep challenging yourself to go the extra mile when he's there pushing you. I cannot endorse this man enough. Even outside of class, he has changed the way that I work out when I'm by myself. I've learned the true meaning of putting in hard work at the gym. He has given me the confidence to attack any challenge head on. It is because of his expert training that I truly know what I'm capable of and how to keep making progress every single workout. I highly recommend Ari. Fair warning... no whining and be ready to WORK. After all, it is called a WORK out right? Ari is the best. Plain and simple. See for yourself.

I first heard of Ari's class just before Christmas 2010. I figured if he was similar to the boxing instructor I go to, I should expect a really great workout.
I got more than a great workout! I get an ass whooping every time I enter his class. There are exercises I've never done before, I sweat like crazy and there is never a dull moment. I enjoy his class; besides my boxing class, Ari's class is the only other class I come on time to because I don't want to be known as the person who made people do extra body builders!
Ari's class is not for weaklings and folks can't handle his rough humor. Understand when you come to his class, you come to workout and get fit, not to be hand held and pitied on. Once you get your thought process together, come to class on time, get ready for an ass whooping and have fun while doing it!

Speaking professionally as a fellow fitness instructor/ coach, I must be sincere when I describe the Pharaoh himself. Ari Harris is a no nonsense, talented, energizing coach. He is passionate about his craft, and is very specific on form/ exercise-technique in a good way. I remember long a go when he would coach me and say "That doesn't count. If its not a full range rep, its not a rep." Let me tell you, what he considers full range is more than what most consider standard. I now live by those standards and get the most out of my workouts and so do my clients. Ari has been my mentor and is still an inspiration in more ways than one. He has taught me more than I can mention and maybe even more than he probably realizes he has. The man continues to educate himself and pushes the envelope every time. Ari Harris has the utmost respect from me. That's why I refer to him as the OG (Original Gangster/Guru) All hail the Pharaoh! Keep doing what you do OG!

Ari is an amazing, passionate instructor that gives you a high-energy, hard core, feel good workout.. He is motivating with his no non-sense attitude that makes you want to either punch or hug him. I mean that in the most positive sense. He pushes you to your limit and does so with a smile from ear to ear. There are not many instructors I would have gotten up for at 8A on Sunday mornings. Ari was definitely the one and only instructor that actually made me look forward to getting up that early on a weekend.

I have had many different instructors and they work their own unique way. First class with Ari was the worst one that I have ever taken. His high level of fitness knowlege gave me a beat down that it was hard for me to get up. That is when I decided this is the class that I need.
Class after class I made the right decition. He always challanged my body to achieve a good level of fitness. Every class is diffent and keeps me the motivation of keep taking class and get down to work.
I find Ari always has a game plan on how to attact the class. He always has a layout on what to do on his classes. I have never walked in to one of his class without him knowing what he was going to do next.

Ari is one of the best instructors out there. I have learned most everything I know in coaching and training from him. From day one I witnessed his passion and love of the game firsthand. He has too many certifications to recite and he has read up or studied almost every type of training system in the industry. He takes every ounce of what he has and gives it to his classes and clients. He will stay up all night to research and create workouts. He will go and spend money from his own pocket to buy equipment so he can train people properly. His attention to how to motivate each and every individual in different ways is unparalleled. Ari does not need to sell you on anything. He goes to work and puts you to work and what you get is results. Now, that is the real deal. He will not hand you anything or let you be lazy. Instead he will make you earn your fitness. Ari puts his heart and soul in each client that is willing to give it their all. When Ari has your back you feel his devotion to you and your goals and he puts them before himself. When one of his clients has a problem, has hit a plateau or is working around an injury, he will not stop until it is solved. Ari is truly inspirational. Say no more...

I have religiously attended Ari’s Sports Conditioning, and Boxing classes for the past six years and an Outdoor Sports Training and I have continuously witnessed his commitment, passion and dedication to each one of us in every class. Ari has an exceptional skill to read and understand the individuality, ability and capacity of his students/clients. He knows when to push you to your best and when to demand nothing less than your extreme best!! Ari has gained much respect not only because of his strong vocals which commands attention and dedication to the exercises but also his high energy which revitalizes and moves your adrenaline regardless whether you lacked full sleep the night before for his morning classes, or had a long hard day at work for his evening classes. It really is something to watch the class transform to such highs. It gathers spectators from outside the windows of the class to people walking by during outdoor circuits.
Ari’s classes are always intensely challenging every muscle in your body, as well as your stamina. He is always studying, learning and introducing new exercises which tones, sculpts and strengthens your body pushing you to your next level!! I love how I feel! Six years and I still crawl out his class sore, extremely beat and feeling great!!!.... and feeling accomplished!!
Ari, thank you for helping me not only gain the sculpted body, and stamina but also for freaking out the nurses when my pulse dips to an athlete’s beat! Thank you for my health!

I started taking Ari's Boot Camp classes in the winter of 2007, when I was looking to add some muscle and drop some chunk before baseball season. The results were incredible. In a little over 4 months, I slimmed down from 190 to 175 lbs, shaved .5 seconds off my 60 yard dash, and as a result, was voted the most improved player in the Westchester Rockland Wood Bat League the following summer.
Ari's is a natural born leader, and is the best trainer I have ever had. I can only hope that I can find a trainer in the future that will push me the way Ari did.

Ari's classes are the best I've ever taken. I took one of Ari's classes for the first time in 2008. When he introduced himself I told him that I wanted him to "kick my ass." He brought it on and it was so intense yet fun (if that's possible) that after the class was over I asked him if he would be my personal trainer. He declined with a fully booked schedule but took my contact info. I was disappointed and asked again several sessions later. Then I thought he was just crazy because I even offered to pay "whatever" but still he declined as he was booked solid. After having previously worked with other trainers at the same gym and other gyms, it was no surprise that he was booked - the others were a joke in comparison. I got more out of one group class with Ari than I did with a group of training sessions with previous trainers. I tried many times to alter my work schedule/meetings to get home in time to take his classes. A few months later, Ari approached me and asked if I still wanted him to train me. (In retrospect I think he wanted to be sure that I was committed.) I was and I told him that he needed to work miracles fast as I was getting married in 10 weeks. He laughed - said that he hated brides because they're all crazy, and said there are no miracles but if I worked out hard and ate right I would see a big difference. Blah Blah I thought - just make me look good. Needless to say I still get complements on my "cut" arms from my wedding pictures. I continued one-on-one training with Ari after my wedding and through my 9th month of pregnancy. I truly was the fittest I had ever been when I was 9 months pregnant. Ari always pretended to freak when he saw me getting bigger and bigger as he repeatedly said that he could administer CPR but could not and would not deliver a baby. It didn't stop me or two other pregnant women in our classes as we were addicted.
I also introduced my husband to Ari's classes and personal training sessions. He has been a regular his Kettlebell and Suspension Training classes for the last two years. Now we are both hooked, and feel lucky not only to train with him because we have gotten results, but also because he has become our friend (despite the tough-guy exterior.) Ari is unequivocably the best trainer around. He works us hard and takes no prisoners, but somehow makes us want to get our asses kicked.

I have been taking Ari's early morning 8:30AM Saturday morning class for years. I have to get up at 6:30 for this class. I wonder why I do this to myself on a Saturday morning, but after I take the class, I am always glad that I came and it sets my pace for the day. He is the only instructor that I know that does not repeat the same class. He is very conscious of using the correct form. I just started taking his kettlebell class. I mistakenly asked him if he thought I could take the class and I told him the class did not look that hard. Was I wrong. I first class I took I was sore for 4 days. It also amazes me that you can take his classes at any age. He pushes me when I need it, because sometimes I can be kind of lazy. Because of these Kettlebell classes I feel must stronger and I surprise myself with how much weight I can pick up. It's amazing. I have seen other trainers teaching kettlebell and none of them compare in anyway to Ari.

I’ve worked out in a group setting with Ari for a few years. I find his programs to be challenging and worth my time. It consists of group in unison activities, individual drills and 1 on 1 training. He lends his personality to the exercise environment and encourages others to do so too. He is intense and energetic. He gives of himself and expects the same from the participants. There is no half stepping. You have to give a full effort. He does a great job of recognizing fitness levels in individuals while still demanding high output from everyone. Ari is tough. But if you come to work out, it’s all good. I’ve witnessed him bark down folks that were not putting out. I’ve also witnessed him encouraging and patting people on the backs. He demonstrates and explains the exercises. Ari also takes time to correct the form of those in need. The music is live.

I started training with Ari before my first Tough Mudder race. Ari is the real deal. If you are looking for a trainer that will not push you to your limits, look elsewhere. If you want a trainer to pat you on the back when you are not giving it your all, look elsewhere. Even more so than our workouts, Ari taught me how to look into the mirror and see what I am made of, and push my workouts to the max. The beatdowns are severe, but the results are priceless!.

I started taking Ari's classes just 12 weeks after having a baby. Within the next couple of months, I was back down to my pre-pregnancy weight and then some. I was in better shape physically than I had ever been in before. Ari motivated me to exceed my potential and eventually become a personal trainer on my own. He is the best instructor I've ever had.

I first trained with Ari over 8 years ago, and I haven't stopped since. Ari is not the kind of trainer who knows his stuff and is satisfied with just that. Over the last years, he constantly raised the bar and continued his own learning to evolve his teaching to maximize the work output that is most suitable for you. Every time i take one of Ari's classes, I'm consistently impressed that after all these years he can still surprise me with new exercises that i never would have conceived of on my own.
Whether you are a beginner just starting to get back into fitness or an old veteran of the scene, Ari will mold you into a better fitness participant not just by telling you what to do, but why you are doing it.
Ari is a true class act, not in it for the money but to truly see the change he has made in you.

Ari's classes are by far the most fantastic full-body workout I've ever had. No other fitness class I've taken compares to the intensity that Ari demands from all of his students. His tough attitude makes everyone step up to the challenge, but also push themselves to work their hardest and achieve their best results. Ari also builds community among his students, which makes working out a social and competitive experience. Now that I've moved to another city, I realize how LUCKY we all are to have trained with Ari. I wish every trainer were as demanding, supportive, effective, and loyal!

When I first met Ari, I knew that he would be an excellent substitute to the previous mother of all trainers! Since I started training with Ari in his boot camp classes, it was all that I was looking forward to all week. I knew that he would push me past my limits and it paid off. I rant and raved about his work ethics to my friends who saw the change in my body, all because of his encouragements...I could still hear him yelling out my name" Cess"!! as I was so tired, I wanted to stop. I'm glad that his voice is still in my head yelling at me, and that's why I gotta love him. Trainers like him are a very far and few. He's the ultimate kick ass, ball breaker I've met.

Ari is everything you want in a trainer! He tough, but that's exactly what you want. You can go to the gym everyday and never push yourself to the limit. Ari takes you there mentally and physically. Plenty of people give lip service to results but with Ari you will see them. I had the pleasure of working with him as a personal trainer and group fitness. You are never bored. Ari takes the time to come up with a different schedule each week. Many trainers I've seen take the easy way out and its the same routine every week so your body gets used to it. Not with Ari. He creative, inventive, and most of all energetic. His passion is training and making you the best you can be and you see it in his work everyday!!

Ari K Harris, one of the most precise and effective instructor/ trainer & coach I've come to know and work with in a very close work environment. His drive to promote progression in others shows his passion for what he does and a realistic approach to getting the individuals he works with to the next level of their goals.
He doesn't only train but teaches one in a progressive manner so they never feel unsure in or without his presence, they are always confident. The guy makes you feel confident all the way.........

Is exactly how you will feel after working out with Ari. I was one of those people who claimed to "work out" prior to training with him but that all changed once I walked into pre-season for the first time. Ari takes it to another level. His energy is so addicting. You will genuinely hate his guts for that hour but once it's done you are left craving more and more. My life was completely transformed after I started training with him. I never dreamed of doing a race prior to but am now several urbanathalons, triathlons, mudders and 10ks accomplished.
No matter what your fitness goal is in life, Ari can and will get you there.

I first met Ari when I was invited by my gym mates to take his sports conditioning class. As we are getting ready he yells at the top of his lungs “Pushhhhhhh UPPSSS!!!” Let me tell you it sent chills up my spine. Ever since then I have continued with his classes, the discipline in which he conducts class is unparallel.
He is challenging, he is in your face, he is tougher than that drill sergeant on “Full Metal Jacket,” has a laugh scarier than Cerberus, and he is also funny as hell. Why? To PUSH YOU beyond your limits in training.
I feel that the people who take his classes are wise in making the choice to come and train like a pro, If slackers come in they will be very publicly put on the spot and probably collapse and convulse at the incredible intensity of Ari’s regiment.
If he sees that you can kick it up a notch he will quietly stand next to you as you do the assigned circuit, stare at you like Buddha contemplating deep meditation AND… continue to give you scorching hell on earth so that you can constantly evolve in strength and conditioning. That is the altruistic dedication to his craft of making others better, highly motivated and physically fit.
10/10 Best Instructor I've Ever Had

Once I first took Ari's class and almost passed out, I stopped enjoying mediocre classes and workouts. The treadmill became a bore. I wanted to take a class of his every day because it was by far, a much better workout than I could give myself my own. Before Ari, I never took a class offered at a gym. I like to compare him to the Bobby Knight of the fitness world. Although he's a screamer and an a** kicker, which may not be for everyone, he gets the job done and simply, wins. One of my favorite aspects of his workouts is that it's never boring, he's constantly learning and growing as an instructor, and it feels like a normal, dysfunctional family in his studio.
Best instructor I know! I recommend him to anyone lucky enough to train with him.

5 years ago, I stood outside Ari's Sports Conditioning class looking in the window (several times) just watching and thinking wow now that looks like a class I'd like to try! I was tired of taking spin class, using the elliptical machines, walking around the gym not really knowing what to do.
When I finally worked up the courage I walked in one day and all I heard was someone shout "I've been waiting for you to come in my class so I can KICK YOUR ASS"! I looked all around and said, "who me" “YES YOU”! …and it was love at first sight. That day I fell in love with “working out”. Sorry Ari :)
In one hour I worked out the hardest I've ever worked in my life and literally got my a** handed to me, vomited in my mouth and exhausted every ounce of energy I had in my entire body! Clearly I worked hard enough to get a "good job" at the end of class. I got something better..."is that all you got rookie"!
Fast forward to the present...things haven't changed much, except my body and I'm no longer a rookie.
Ari still hands my a** to me, motivates me, pushes me beyond my limit and continues to teach me and others that living a healthy, strong lifestyle is the only way to live. He continues to teach me in order to achieve and maintain that lifestyle...you have fight holy hell, there are no short cuts w/ Ari...no chassness! Walking into Ari's class was the best decision I've ever made...it changed my life.

I have taken many, many classes and sessions with Ari from kettle bells, TRX, personal training, sports conditioning, outdoor boot camp, total body conditioning, you name the class, I can assure you I have taken it and it will be the best workout you can have.
Ari is an amazing instructor and teacher and there is no other person that I can compare to who is so versed in his area of expertise, which is so broad. Once he has mastered one skill, technique or type of workout methodology, he is onto the next best thing and as always, he brings you with him, so that everyone can learn, grow and advance in their health and fitness along with him.
I have known Ari since he first started teaching sports conditioning at Forest Hills, over 7 years ago - wow its been a while. I remember the first day meeting Ari as an instructor in class. I thought to myself great yet another new teacher, hopefully I will sweat in this class. Well I was recently reminded of our first class and let me tell you mountain climber after mountain climber, body builder (what is that, I thought) after countless body builder, shuffle right, shuffle left, squat, back to those bloody body builders, holy sh**. I thought I was gonna die and that was just the warm up. Well we finally heard those words everyone waits for "WATER" and I was like this is it, I have finally after two decades of working out in countless gyms and going through various academies for work, I realized this is the teacher for me. He pushed me as hard as I needed and wanted to be pushed.
ARI represents the epitomy of dedication, love and respect for his profession. He has true passion, care and concern for the people he trains and teaches in class. Don't get me wrong, if you are half hearted or half assed about what you are doing, he is going to let you know and rightfully so. We go to the gym to get a workout, to enhance our bodies. We have a purpose and Ari is there to help you accomplish your goals, no matter how small or big; he will and has helped. He may not know how much of an impact he has had on so many people, but he is a one of a kind person and trainer. I have to say I often wonder where I would be with my fitness goals if Ari was not introduced to my world of fitness. I have never met someone who has as much passion for his job. When you think you don't have an ounce left to give, he will help you find it and push through it. His workouts are never the same. He constantly changes it up, just when I think yeah, I've got this, he hands me a 10 pound plate and tells me to do a piston to the floor or he hands me the very large orange kettle bell (I don't remember the kilograms, but it is heavy) and tells me to swing it 25 times. Initially thinking I could never achieve, this but I can. I'm not gonna say no or I can't. That's the drive his sparks within people. He makes you want to push further and achieve your next level. There is no such thing as being comfortable and happy with the thought that I accomplished a goal because there is something more challenging that you can also accomplish and Ari with his confidence in you is gonna help you find the next level and achieve that too.
It is so impressive how well Ari knows his clients. He is very in tune with each persons abilities and he knows when he can push you to the next level, even if you doubt yourself. Even when you have an injury and you tell him about it, he helps you to modify the workout or he gives you a different exercise so that you do not injure yourself further. He makes the training that he is giving to you personal, regardless of the number of people around.
Ari will teach you, push you, help you succeed and start all over again with a new task. You feel empowered, beaten, sometimes sick to your stomach, but always, stronger after working out with Ari. It is a unique feeling after taking a class with him. He will always take you to the next level. Thanks ARI. Love OG (not old grandma)!
10/10 Ari-The Chocolate Truffle
By Oni

Every single time I attended Ari's Total Body Conditioning class, he always had this tough-man look and it could be somewhat intimidating. I remembered thinking, ohh no, he's going to work us hard! But in the duration of the class, you get to see his corny and sweet side, hence the name "The Chocolate Truffle." All tough on the outside but soft inside. Ohh, by the way, have you seen his body...definitely in shape! I don't think he ate any chocolate truffles :-/.
Anyway, I digress... Ari is definitely a GREAT teacher. The reason I say this is because he basically has the essence of what a true teacher is like, knowing that all of the students are not from an "one size fits all" model. We are all of different sizes, shapes, color, age, gender, and ability levels. So Ari differentiates his exercises with three different levels, that way we can do the same exercises but within degrees of difficulty. I've had moments when I've moved up from one level to another due to having worked out more and being in shape, that to me, is SUCCESS!! I admit, there have been moments when I've taken the easy way out and unfortunately, I couldn't get that past Ari. He would expect more from me and when I do succeed, it's an exhilarating feeling. This, is why I think he's a great teacher...he knows WHAT we're capable of and will EXPECT that from us. That's the personal touch I get from him, and do not receive from other trainers/instructors.
There's also the fact that I'm deaf, which can be a challenge when it comes to following classes, and as a result, I often stay non-commital to them. With Ari's classes, I'll attend to them without fail (that was if there were no other conflicts on that day). He makes it so easy for me to understand and follow. Even he helps with the counting of the exercise by using his fingers or gestures for me to stop and switch...again, there's the personal touch...
Right now, I'm sore from his class, typing this review...but I know that Ari's worth it! His class will surely make me reach the goal of having my fabulous body sooner rather than never!
PLEASE KEEP TEACHING THE TOTAL BODY CONDITIONING CLASS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, ARI!!! I'LL KEEP TAKING IT AS WELL!! :-D

Ari is very versed in all aspects of training, fitness and life. If he doesn't know something he won't pretend to know he will go and find out. To me that is the sign of a true master, someone who is always in questing to know more and become better.
I have experienced Ari's training first hand, while getting ready for my first Muay Thai Kickboxing tournament he was my go to for my first weight cut. He helped me to stay strong and keep lean mass while losing body fat. I went from 190lbs, to a lean and fast 170lbs. His training style worked and he helped keep me motivated and positive.
I am also a NASM CPT, AFAA group ex and KBC Instructor, as well as a huge 'Hardstyle' enthusiast and I turn to Ari often for guidance and ideas.

I've taken Ari's classes and worked with him one on one. Honestly, you can't do any better. He's a rare breed - knowledgeable and passionate about what he does, and he's genuinely invested in the outcome for his clients. I've worked with other trainers, but none who regularly pushed me past limits I believed I couldn't get past, all the while getting me to set stronger goals. No two workouts were the same, all were intense, and every one effective in different ways. There's a very good reason that Ari has the following that he does - he's earned his reputation. If you're committed and want results......you just can't do any better.

You either love him or hate him. His style is intense, challenging and extreme BUT so rewarding in the end! I started with two classes and I’m now up to three and looking for more! Every time it’s something different with a different body part aching the next day. The transformation in body definition, strength and endurance didn’t happen overnight…I feel stronger and better. He knows when you’re ready to be challenged even when you think you’re, but before you know it you’re doing and wanting more.
Although I haven’t ventured into Kettle Bell/TRX or the pre-season conditioning classes – I’m just being a punk! I hear it’s pretty AMAZING. I may just have to push myself to take a few of those classes next season.

Ari is a serious workout machine. He makes sure you kick your ass in his class. I love that he gives individual attention to each person, to make sure you're doing it correctly. To me that is very important because I know I don't want to pull the wrong muscle. I would definitely recommend him!

With more hard work :) Ari's classes are AMAZING if you want to work hard. If you don't care and don't want to get better then you probably consider his classes good, better than most. But if you pay attention to the passion that Ari brings to his own personal growth and the passion he puts into his class - never the same class twice - you begin to transform mentally (and hopefully physically). You want to match his competitiveness, drive and overall desire to be better. Not only that, but you want to BEAT everyone else in his class too. Or maybe that's just me :)
If you work hard in his boot camp/sports conditioning classes (and I can only IMAGINE in his Kettlebll and TRX classes), he will reward you with a new challenge. It never gets easier. And frankly, I don't go to classes for them to get easier. Ari constantly challenges those who rise to his challenge - making each class a new adventure.
The only problem I have with Ari's classes is that there are not enough of them :)

You never know what he is going to come up with! He is tough but at the same time he is very conscious about form and safety.
I have taken Ari's Total Body and Sports Conditioning classes. When Ari started teaching Kettle Bell/TRX, I thought I would never be able to survive that class, (it scared me; after all, I'm not a spring chicken :-) . Ari convinced me to try it and now I''M HOOKED!! He

I have Known Ari since his start at NYSC and from day one he has displayed a rare talent as a trainer . His dedication revealed his passion for fitness and although extremely knowledgeable , possessed an undying thirst to learn more as he took his craft to another level . He has raised the bar several times , inspired me to take my fitness expertise to levels i assumed didn't exist , and has time and time again proven to the "THE BEST" at what he does . Although I consider myself the self proclaimed "Trainer Extraordinaire" , I owe my most my success , confidence , and motivation to Ari . Ari Harris is hands down the best instructor I have come across.
As a physical therapist and fitness enthusiast I am always paying attention to what trainers are doing with their clients. Its usually a mess! After meeting and taking one of Ari's strength training classes I was hooked. He is a no nonsense committed instructor who is going to push you to your limits. Not only is he dedicated to his job but he is committed to education and injury prevention, He just gets it! I am currently taking Ari's Kettle bell/TRX small group training classes and have made gains in strength and endurance.
I should also mention that I am 5 months pregnant! When I found out the great news I was slightly bummed about not being able to work out as hard as I was used to. Ari inspired me to continue my training by sending me videos of Kettle bell mommies and assuring me that we can always modify. I feel great!

By Schnelle

I have met a lot of fitness professionals in my day. I can easily say Ari is the best trainer/instructor that I have ever worked with. I say this for three reasons:
1) His Knowledge: Shortly after I had my first child I began consulting with Ari about why I wasn’t losing weight. I had been doing the same things over and over with no results. Ari encouraged me to strength train with kettlebells, and although I had no idea what kettlebells were at the time, it turned out to be a great decision and the turning point of my fitness. After the kettlebell class I was much more stronger and leaner. Without that push, I’d probably still be stuck in the same rut.
2) His Passion: Ari has always been extremely passionate about his field. I could go to him about pretty much anything fitness related and he would have an answer for me. He is consistently innovative in his classes, his classes are extremely popular because you never know how he will challenge you next. The classes are so challenging yet so fun, it keeps the people coming back every time.
3) His Attitude: Prior to Ari, I had many instructors who would let me slack off when I didn’t feel like completing a set, or going to class, or challenging myself. Ari never was that instructor. He made me push my limits, and although I grumbled my way through it all, it made a huge difference with how I viewed my own personal workouts. Now, I made sure that I was completely getting the maximum out of my fitness, whether in a class or on my own.
His skill, passion and personality makes him a top notch fitness instructor/trainer. He is a top motivator, an inspiration, and a BEAST. Train with him and you (nor your body) will regret it.
10/10 Never Stop Improving
By Daniel
H.
/ New York, NY
In “The New Toughness Training for Sports,” James E. Loehr Ed.D. writes that a certain amount of discomfort needs to be present in order to improve, and that without confronting this discomfort, there will be little or no progress.
I cannot begin to describe the amount of discomfort and personal growth I have experienced since first encountering Ari Harris in 2010. More than two years after discovering his training sessions, I am still overcome by a particular sense of dread when I imagine what might be in store for me at our next meeting. It should come as no surprise, then, when I say that in that same time period, I’ve made some remarkable fitness gains. I am quantitatively stronger than I have ever been; I have attained a new level of mobility and an excellent level of conditioning. As a lifelong athlete, I spent years beset by recurring injuries, but despite the intensity of Ari’s classes, I have successfully rehabilitated a number of nagging issues while decreasing the possibility of future injuries.
While in the gym, I constantly see trains who are more interested in checking their phone and drinking their coffee than they are in making sure their clients are training properly and with intensity. Ari is a motivating instructor, has excellent credentials, and is deeply invested in the progress of his clients. I would be running stairs from here to next week if I was to call him “humble,” but he is a lifelong learner who sees no ceiling for himself or his trainees.
Regardless of your current physical condition, if you are genuinely interested in improving, working with Ari Harris will achieve results. I have seen him successfully train clients who had never exercised or had been diagnosed with debilitating injuries. He is attentive and creative in how he meets the needs of each of his clients. There is no other trainer I would choose to entrust my with my health and performance goals. Now get in touch and prepare to get knocked down—but you’ll get up and be better than before.

I've known Mr. Harris for many Years now..Long before he became a personal trainer..I was a member of NY Sports Club on 38th & Broadway in NYC for many years..My job was right across the street from the gym..I saw Ari several times, he also invited me in to his class but I never went..I was much more of a Spinning guy..Every day at 12 noon I was in my beloved Spinning class..To me nothing could top the calorie burning goodness of a Cycling class, boy was I wrong! I was hitting the cycling hard trying to lose weight for my 40th birthday..On a Wednesday one of my favorite Spinning instructors was out & we had a sub par substitute. Rather than endure 45 minute of boredom.I decided to take my old friends class.WOW! was it a blast. From that point on I was a member of "Pharaohs Army. The class was very intense sometimes my 40 year old legs couldn't keep up..But Ari always found a way to encourage me.Unfortunately I found a new job in a different area of Manhattan and had to join another Gym..However I was looking quite svelte for my 40th birthday.Thank "A-Dawgs"I truly miss being a part of "Pharaohs Army. He is an awesome trainer & a great guy

That was the goal I set for myself when I first started training with Ari. I had worked out regularly for @15 years, and always felt I was in ok shape, but I was never able to see major changes in my body by just taking classes & doing weight training on my own. So I embarked on a fitness journey with Ari. And what a fun journey it was. Ari was as excited (& probably more) as I was as i reached goals, did more reps, increased weights... Boxing with him was always the highlight of my week. It was an amazing, fun & exciting workout, an intense stress reliever, and a therapy session all rolled into one. As a result he has become one of my favorite people on earth, and a lifelong friend... His enthusiasm is infectious. He made me want to try harder, perfect my form, reach my goals... More impressive is his ability to bring this energy & motivation to his classes. He is master at making a whole group of people feel he is teaching directly to you individually. In all of the years I trained & took classes with him, every session was unique, challenging & fun. It never ceases to amaze me how he is continually able to find new moves & truly never ever ever repeat a class or training session. Mr. Harris is a dedicated, talented, highly skilled, highly motivational trainer, instructor, individual & friend. Love ya' Ari!!!!!!

If there is anything you want to work on you let him know and he will get it done, just know it won't be easy but it will work and it will be worth it!

I remember the very first time I took Ari's sports conditioning class about three years ago. He did struck me as a very creative and knowledgeable instructor right away. I enjoyed the pain in my body for several days after taking the class. I could feel muscles that I didn't know even existed. I don't know what was about that high energy of the class that makes you curse and the intensity of it that almost makes you vomit; however, I couldn't wait to come back and take it over and over again. Every time I enjoy the changing routines and a variety of innovative exercises. No matter which level of fitness you are, Ari always makes you believe you can get better, faster, stronger. He is truly inspiring and enthusiastic. But most of all, he is your motivating power! Taking his classes is always a guarantee of a high quality workout that is time efficient and of the best entertaining time.

Yeah, that's right - I said it. He is the BEST thing that happened to my ass and every other part of my body!
Not only I owe to Ari my smaller dress size, toned muscle and better sex, which is not a small thing let's all agree here:) Ari is the only reason kettlebells, and working out in general, became part of my life. He has an unbelievable ability to push you and challenge you every single time. I've never worked with a trainer who is so incredibly dedicated, knowledgeable and motivational!
Sign up for his class - your ass and your partner (or your future partner) will thank you and love you forever:)!!!

Ari is more than just a trainer. I have been training with Ari for 2 years and he is the only person that gets me excited to go to the gym. That's because I never know what to expect when I get there. Most other trainers at my gym just count reps or time and completely ignore form, not Ari. He is constantly checking and correcting my form because quality means more to him than quantity. Ari also doesn't think he knows it all, he is always going to workshops and classes to improve himself. This knowledge is passed to us in our functional training classes. I feel that I am receiving an education in addition to training. I wouldn't touch a kettle bell with anyone else

I've worked with several trainers in the past, but Ari is on another level!
His greatest strength is his ability to motivate and push you to your limit while making working out ENJOYABLE. His routines and methods are addictive to say the least and full of immediate results both in strength of the body and mind.
I can attest, that working out with him transformed my body and gave me a new sense of confidence. I'm one if his many fans because of his "tough love" and commitment to his clients.
Too bad the rating scale stops at 10, because to me he is 100% AMAZING!

Ari is hands down the best instructor around. He is professional, dedicated, knowledgeable, motivating, and passionate. I have been taking his TBC conditioning classes for about two years and recently enrolled in the TRX/kettle bell small group training. You come to class knowing that you will work hard as he takes his fitness seriously. The feeling of accomplishment after completing one of his workouts is addicting. He pushes you to personal limits and keeps raising the bar. He is super dedicated to each of his students. HIs knowledge of exercises and techniques is exhaustive. He always stresses proper form and technique and provides verbal cues and visual models to ensure you are doing the exercises correctly. You can sense the love and passion for what he does and it is contagious. His classes are creative, one-of-a-kind, innovative, and eclectic. You use a variety of equipment or none at all which has at times proven to be the most challenging! I have the upmost respect for him as a person, trainer, and athlete; he demands from you what he provides... nothing less than 100%!!

Ari takes fitness and education seriously. He shares what he knows on proper form and motivates you to get closer to your fitness goals. His workouts are designed to get as much intensity and hard work possible in a short period of time, and are the most challenging I have ever taken. You honestly get a great feeling of accomplishment after completing his workouts that lasts for days. I have taken Ari’s boot camp and sports conditioning classes for over a year, and from the knowledge I have taken on just form, I have built my strength and endurance and lost over 60 pounds. Ari changes up each workout , so you never feel you are doing the same exercise or working the same body part, and thus optimizing and impacting your body differently each time. Besides teaching an amazingly intense workout , Ari has a wickedly funny sense of humor that makes the sessions entertaining, fresh and unpredictable. I always look forward to working out with Ari, fully confident that I will be getting an intense, results driven, and fun workout.

My wife and I recently took personal training (Kettlebell) classes with Ari. When we signed up for the class we really didn't have a firm understanding what the classes would entail and how we would like the workouts however we signed up b/c Ari was the instructor and having taken other classes with him in the past, we knew we were going to get our money worth with a good old fashion but kicking. Having said that, what we liked the most about the class was the time Ari took with each individual in the class (2-4ppl) to really make sure we all had the proper form before we started swinging, etc.. His classes are very unique and he always brings a high level of energy and true passion for the workouts. At the end of class you never feel cheated and leave with the high of knowing you just had a "real" workout. The classes generally run about an hour to 1hr 30 min but that's not where it ends, you will be sure to have a homework assignment and most likely a follow-up call/text during the week to check-in and make sure you are feeling ok and always with a positive motivational message.
Based on my experience I rated Ari a 10, I have and will continue to recommend him to family and friends.
10/10 The Da Vinci of Fitness
By Joel

Ari is an exceptional instructor--an artist in the arts of fitness! And just as Da Vinci painted his master piece, La Mona Lisa--Ari tries to paint his master piece in every class in sweat, tears and vomit.
I've taken classes with many "fitness" instructors, and I have to say Ari is by far the best. His knowledge of exercises and technique are incredible. I've taken classes with him for 4 years now and he has never repeated a class or even half a class. He brings in new stuff in every class. No matter how fit you are, he will give you a run for your money. He will discover your witnesses and exploit them until they become your strength. He will make you a well rounded athlete. Ari is a perfectionist. If you're going to do something, you will do it right. If you don't, you will continue to do it until you do it right--no excuses. That kind of knowledge, attention to detail and relentlessness pursuit of perfection make Ari stand miles above the rest.
What I just mentioned is not enough to make you exceptional; excellent...yes...exceptional, no. What makes Ari an exceptional trainer is his work ethic and intensity. He doesn't ask that you are there on time, that you do things right, that you give 100%--he demands it. There is no other option. Its that intensity, his passion for his art and work ethic that makes his classes amazing and keep us coming back for years. And to be honest, those things have changed my life. Because I and others, have been able to take that passion, work ethic and intensity outside the studio and apply it every time we work out. Ari has given us the tools and cojones to remain fit for our entire lives--that is exceptional.
10/10 Go Big or Go Home
By Cara

I had been hearing about Ari and his incredibly challenging Sports Conditioning classes for at least a year before I met him. My husband, an active, athletic guy, could not believe how much his overall fitness improved after a few months of taking Ari's class once a week. That introduction led to signing up for Ari's Kettlebell/TRX small group training, which in turn, led to my first class. I came to Ari somewhat of a mess--tendinitis in my wrists, improperly rehabbed ankle and IT band injuries, neck and back issues, and, perhaps most embarrassingly, more than fifty pounds overweight. I knew I had to do something about it all, and I decided that I wouldn't "ease" back into exercising--I would go big or go home. My very first kettlebell swing in my very first class and I was...in pain. My lower back was screaming, despite my form. Ari impressed me with his ingenuity right away--he brought over a platform about a foot or so off the ground and set my kettlebell on top of it. "Try it again," he encouraged. I did and I could not believe it--no pain in my back at all and my hip hinge seemed more natural on the swing. I am proud to say that I no longer need that platform--under Ari's guidance, I have tripled the weight I am able to swing. I am stronger, losing weight, and gaining lean muscle mass at a healthy rate. But more than that, I have tapped back into my inner athlete--the woman who played rugby, ran cross-country, and loves to challenge herself. I have never felt that Ari looked at me as incapable; he genuinely enjoys seeing his students progress, regardless of where they start. Ari has always expected me to rise to the challenge, and perhaps because he believes in me, I do.

The first time I took one of Ari's classes was a few years years ago. I immediately felt confident that he was a skilled trainer and, even more, cared for his students' performance and progress by the way he paid attention to certain aspects such as posture, amount of weight used (ladies - don't be afraid to use more!), and generally made us work HARD. For the first time in my life I felt really good about group workouts and subsequently became addicted to Ari's classes. I later trained with him 1:1 which is when he introduced me to kettlebells and the suspension trainer.
Ari is an extremely dedicated teacher. It is clear that he is passionate about kettlebell training in particular. When he learns something new, we learn something new. When it is possible to correct a move, make a move more advanced, or modify it in a way that is safer for someone, he makes it known. Ari is no stranger to visual and verbal aides in order to demonstrate the proper way to safely engage in a move from beginning to end. He has often recorded the class's swings and various other moves in order to show us what we are doing right and what we can make improvements on.
A few months ago I got hurt at work and incurred a lower back injury. I was unable to walk for a short period of time and therefore unable to work out for a few months. Thankfully, I've made a full recovery and have eased my way back into classes. Ari has been very supportive and makes sure I am nothing less than accurate with all swings, cleans, squats, etc. His energy is both consistent and contagious. I am elated to be back!
When I've not had the best of days, I leave class with a new attitude not only for the night, but for the rest of the week. Ari has truly made an impact on the way I think about training and working out. Any person that has taken just one class of his would certainly agree - which is why he probably has so many long-term clients and students.

Ari has always been one step and probably more like two or three steps ahead of me when it comes to kettlebells, fitness and strength & conditioning. We connected on Twitter in late August '12. He was getting ready for his RKC in San Diego. I followed his experiences shortly before, during and after that event closely. You could tell that he worked hard to get to that point and there would be no denying him that weekend! The enthusiasm he brings to the table is contagious. I was scheduled to arrive one month later for my RKC in Chicago and was a bit behind the 8 ball with my snatch technique. He laid out a very short and simple plan and put me into a positive frame of mind. He helped me nail my goals and become part of the RKC tribe! If you want to succeed he can help you in person..or three time-zones away!
10/10 Not just strength, but proper movement

When I first met Ari I thought he was a muscle bound gym rat obsessed with weightlifting. I couldn't have been more wrong. Ari takes physical fitness seriously. An initial consultation with him showed me that he has a thorough knowledge of the human body and how it works. I was impressed with his comprehension of anatomy. I then started taking his sports conditioning class which could be retitled "Prelude to CPR" because of its intense cardio workout. After attending his class for several months, Ari approached a few of us about his kettle bell class. At first I was a bit skeptical about swingning heavy balls between my legs. It seemed a bit inefficient and kind of boring. I spoke with Ari about my training goals and how I hope incorporate my time in the gym into a better performance on the tennis court. Ari urged me to attend the class, and make a decision after that.
During the first session, Ari determined that my shoulders are locked from years of swinging tennis racquets, lifting children, and improper weight lifting. He gave me many corrective exercises to open up my thorax and shoulders. He explained that this would aid in my tennis serve, and in preventing future injury to other parts of my body. Next came the kettle bells. I could not believe the shortness of breath that I experience after doing three minutes of swings. I think of myself as in pretty good shape cardio wise, but I was whipped. The worst part was that my technique was quite poor. Immediately Ari worked on improving my technique to ensure a proper workout. I have been working out with kettle bells now for about two months, and just when I think I have it, Ari makes another little tweek. He is passionate about ensuring people are using kettle bells correctly. The three of us in my class are constantly asking Ari for feedback and what we can do to get better. He happily obliges us with drills, exercises, and funny antecdotes about training. Ari's excitement about kettle bells is contagious at the gym, where he now has a series of classes and he has somewhat of a following. The Mighty Pharaoh's Fitness Army is Ari's crew of dedicated kettle bell swingers and those who attend his "Prelude to CPR" class.

As a professional dancer who has worked the rigorous demands of a Broadway show, as well as being a certified Pilates instructor, I was really looking for something to help me balance my fitness routine. Ari is exactly what I was looking for in a fitness professional. He has drive, and a love for what he does which completely translates to his classes and clients. He has a knack for pushing you to places you didn't think were possible, only to find out that you had more strength than you thought you had all along. I was looking for someone who really knew their stuff and could also apply the information safely. His drive to learn more, his passion, and his commitment to his clients surpasses all of my expectations. Ari is always looking to improve himself and in return, us.
I admit, with my background I was a little hesitant about kettle bells as I really knew nothing about them, but now after many months of classes, I am hooked. I have noticed wonderful changes in my body, including more strength, length and overall toning. I have seen an overall improvement in the way I move, as well as the strength I have built really being from the inside out...and the challenge that I get from the kettle bells is second to none!
If you are seriously looking for a change in your mind and body, Ari is your man.. :)

I have been training with Ari for the past year. After taking a few of his classes & seeing what a great source of motivation he was & how pumped he is to push us to our limit, I knew he'd be the right trainer for me. Ari has proven to be very knowledgeable, always taking time to explain proper form, & techniques & to point out what I may be be doing wrong, & explain why & how this can effect my workout. He takes the time to make sure my workout is always planned ahead, focusing on areas which I need to strengthen and working in ways that always challenge me. He always makes sure my form is correct before progressing exercises, to prevent injuries and make sure I am getting the most out of my workouts. Every workout with Ari is different, which makes the 6:30am "torture" fun and motivating. Ari's attitude in the gym always pushes me to go harder & do better & get the most from my workout. He truly loves what he does , is always striving to learn more & teach his clients & its obvious to anyone who trains with him. I couldn't be happier with my decision to train with Ari.

I have been a student and a client of Ari's for about 5 years. I started by taking his Sports Conditioning classes (which are awesome!) and I am still taking them, he was my personal trainer for about a year, and for the last 12 months I have been taking his kettlebell/suspension group training sessions. I have been unable to find anyone as motivating and dedicated to his students and craft as Ari. Just when you think you have nothing left, he will get more quality work out of you. He spends time with each student, correcting form, pushing us even harder when we get frustrated, and reminding us that we are all learning together, as he considers himself a 'constant beginner', despite all his certifications. I have never considered myself to be 'an athlete', but under his instruction I have accomplished things I never thought possible for me. He is a catalyst for true change in his clients' lives, both physically and mentally. He is the real deal.

Ari is passionate, smart, mean as hell, loud and a genius at creating your best body EVER.
I met Ari about 6 years ago. I was 90 lbs heavier. I had no self confidence. I was unable do any form of exercise well . I was a size 22-24 (now a 10 almost 8ish- lol) and I had no idea that i had the ability to be a "fit person."
Ari has completely inspired me to get to my workouts on time ( punishment by body builders will fix tardiness), believe in myself and above all I have learned not to just be average. The next level is always the goal. Getting stronger, faster, fitter not because someone is doing it but because i am capable of such greatness.
I am completely grateful for Ari. Working with Ari will transform your body. He will not cuddle you or allow you to settle for average. So if you dont want to work hard or dig deep then go to a lazy trainer who will take your money and allow you to slack off. Ari gives 100 % and demands it in return.
Meeting and working out with Ari has tranformed my body and life. Thanks Ari aka "evil"

I met Ari about 3 years ago and at the time I was sick of the gym. I wasn't getting the results I wanted, I couldn't find a class I liked, and the personal trainers were more interested in getting clients than actually working with what they wanted. Then I found Ari's total body class and for the first time in a long time I felt challenged, I started seeing the changes that I wanted and was stronger which was great but what made me want to keep coming back was how passionate Ari is about what he does. Even in a completely crowded class (and they usually are) if you are struggling, he will come and motivate you, if your form is off, he will come and correct you. He never just goes through the motions to get it over with and that's what makes him stand out from most others.
When Ari told me he was doing classes with kettlebells a few months ago of course I signed up. It was not what I expected. It was harder than anything I had ever done before and half the time I felt like passing out but I kept at it because of Ari's motivation. He works with everyone at they're own fitness level but he constantly pushes you and never makes anyone feel like they're not doing enough. He'll work with you until you have the correct form - and so you know what you were doing wrong so understand the difference. So far kettlebells have been the best exercise I have ever done because it has help my overall fitness level. My form is better for squats and lunges, my endurance level is high for cardio and lifting a 12lb weight, which used to be heavy, is now easier than I ever thought it would be.
What can I say that hasn't been already said before? Ari is the absolute best at what he does and I'm so happy to train with someone as awesone as him. Thank you Ari!

I am 28 and I have never done any sport or regular exercise before a year ago that I had my baby (who is now 18 month old), I never had any weight issues and was always happy with what I had, but after the baby I just felt that I need to become stronger, as I am a petite girl and my baby (Thank God) was gaining weight nicely I started feeling that overall busy lifestyle that I have and the new challege of picking up the baby, helping him to his feet as he started walking etc. all the time is exosting me phisically (not to mention mentally). So I embarked on my way to the GYM) and I was extremelly lucky to meet Ari on this way!
What I think distinguishes Ari and sets him apart as a trainer is his true passion to what he does, he geniunly loves what he does, he constantly develops and grows in the field and this knowledge and techniques he brings to classes and shares with his students. You will feel his drive and this will drive and motivate you as well! Yes, he is VERY attentive to the form, but this is the only thing that matters indeed, because you can not accomplish any results (in fact you will even hurt yourself) if you don't understand HOW to work properly...with poor form it's just a waste of time and energy. Ari is very creative and patient in explaining and finding a way to show you the proper form - you WILL get it, even if you never had before. His classes are challenging, he will push you to do more and keep it interesting all the time.
I think that after I started the Kettle Belts classes I literally became solid like a rock , I became more endurant (which was my overall goal) and I LOVE to feel this way! This phisicall strenght and the resilts that I see make me look forward to every class and I have a piece of ming because I know that Ari is in control, I won't hurt myself but I will be challenged enough to keep things exciting! Thank you Ari!

Ari is the real deal. His commitment to his students, his classes, and the philosophy of healthy form & function all come together to keep me training with him. His TRX/Kettlebell small group classes have kept me and my wife coming back for more and more.
Personally, I have found Ari to be essential in furthering my rehabilitation (I am 2 years post L3-L4 disc replacement surgery) and he has actually helped me become stronger than I ever thought possible. I must constantly work on my stabilization (form) to keep myself pain free and Ari's personal attention to his students has always kept me safe while challenging me to really own the movements and exercises we practice (function).
My hope is to continue training & learning with Ari as he is a constant source of inspiration, strength & discipline...all while still being one of the nicest, real, and most approachable dudes I know.

I grew up in the 80's where thin was in and like so many of us, I held myself to this ideal. However, even with this success, I never felt that I looked good in my cloths without having to really work at it. What was wrong with this picture? Most trainers I tried would begin by monitoring all my numbers; my heart rate, weight , blood pressure..... Honestly, it felt like I was going in for my annual. Somebody get me outta here! On top of that, my worst nightmare, I'd always gain weight because muscle weighs more than fat. The strategy made me more focused on a number and it kept me in a vicious cycle without the results and growth that I was looking for. Then I started taking total body classes with Ari about two years ago and found his focus on being strong a new and very motivational message so I took a leap of faith and followed him into his training with TRX and kettle bells. After six months of training one day a week for 45 minutes with Ari, I can see more positive changes in my body that over 20 years of various sports had not accomplished. I am firm in places I never thought I could be and I have definition and form. My mid section has always been my bad spot and after having a baby in my late thirties it only got worse. Thanks to Ari's guidance and training, I can actually see the muscles in my abs and the old muffin top is virtually gone. We are not all built the same and if you want to embrace the way you are made and want to look "your" best Ari will help you accomplish that goal. He will tell you all about your bingo arms but make you laugh about it and work on it at the same time. Tell him if something hurts more than the "no pain no gain" factor. He will work with you until you correct your form and without making you feel bad for asking. It's a REALLY hard workout but you will get results in a short amount of time. Just get ready to work, forget the scale, keep the faith, and keep going. Rome wasn't built in a day. All my best! Georgia McGuire

Ari is fantastic! I don't know what else to say about Ari that hasn't already been said. I couldn't agree more with all the rave reviews, he is a true motivator!! I've been training with Ari for a little over 3 yrs now and I don't know what I'd do without his enthusiasm, drive and creative ways to challenge yourself. I started with Ari when he took on the Monday Total Body Conditioning at Forest Hills NYSC. He had me at those resistance bands! His Sports Conditioning class is no joke - you better bring it to this workout!! And now with TRX and kettlebells, I'm a lifer! I've been feeling lean and fit!! I surprised myself yesterday by doing a few chin ups at a park. And I, like my friends, could not believe at the ease in which I pulled myself up. I know it wouldn't have been possible without Ari! For the past 12 months I've been having a steady diet of foot in your butt workouts and I've never felt better! You get hooked!!

As I continue my journey looking for the next challenge, I tried everything a gym had to offer. Whether it be working with a trainer, rock climbing, lifting, super setting, TRX bands, Pilates, yoga etc... you name it I’ve tried it until I met Ari. On Saturdays, I would meet up with my trainer who always gave me a kick ass work out and afterwards I would then take a sports conditioning class along with swimming to see how much I can push myself. I'm not getting any younger so I wanted to see how far I can go. Yes, it is a bit extreme but I can manage it.
For a while, I thought this class was challenging until one Saturday the instructor that usually teaches this class had a prior engagement and was unable to teach the class and in walks Ari Harris. I remember the speech he gave us and I looked over to my gym mate and said to her, hopefully he can take us to the next level. i had no idea what i was in for and within 15mins of his warm/up, I was completely out of breath, in shocked and completely out of my element. To my surprise, I believe I had found the next challenge.
Since then, I’ve been a true fan of his workouts. Although there are critics out there who may not approve of his teaching methods, you just have to show up to one of his classes and see for yourself. The moment you enter that door, leave the bullshit outside, be committed and give 100% to the workout. I assure you, you would leave there sore but in a good way yet fulfilling. The routines are never boring, never the same and most of all very challenging.
Ari's tough and by no means he's a push over. He's discipline, he's in your face, he knows his craft and he's passionate about what he teaches. I've come across many gyms and trainers yet they all seem to have the same agenda, lure the potential customers in, lock them into a contract and make false promises they can't keep. I understand you have a business to run but you are dealing with peoples lives. Ari's the exception to that rule. Under that tough exterior, he genuinely care's about people and will see to it that you reach your goal whether loosing weight, adding muscles or simply answer any questions you may have. For me, working out is a way of life and I will continue to take Ari's class as long as my body does not give out on me any time soon
If you've reached plateau and are seriously looking for that next challenge, I highly recommend that you take Ari's class. His work outs are a combination of PX90, Insanity and Asylum all in one hour. You will get hooked, you will come again and again… just be prepared for an ass whopping

I've been a certified personal trainer for 8 years. Wait. 9 years. Lord, I feel old. I've known Ari for 5 of those years. And I've been working with Kettlebells for about three. I thought my prior KB teacher was good. Really good. But in my one hour session with Ari, I was able to feel changes to my swing I didn't even know I needed. I left that session feeling frustrated that I didn't have more time with him, but at the same time invigorated and excited by what I had learned. Having known Ari for so long, it is exciting to see the changes to his technique and what he brings to his clients and his personal fitness. And knowing the industry the way that I do- it is rare that a trainer cares so much about the progress of his clients, his education, and his own goal setting the way Ari does. I feel truly lucky that I had the chance to work with him. And sad only because I know I won't have the opportunity again.
10/10 Kettlebell guru

Ari is no joke. He knows his kettlebells, and how to train with them properly. He is about putting the work in to get the results. When I started with kbs I was a novice, and Ari had the patience to teach step by step the mechanics of each exercise. As I progressed, we made adjustments to my swings, each time showing me a new way to think about the motions to get the correct form. As the form got better, we increased the weight(not the other way around).
I have total respect for Ari as a trainer and a person. He gets the best out of you, and you can tell he cares that you push yourself to be your best. He is constantly learning new techniques and passing them on, not satisfied with the status quo. The results speak for themselves. I trimmed down, lost weight, but most importantly started seeing changes in body type. I even got to give him a hard time because I had to spend $1 to have a new hole punched in my belt. All it took was some hard work, will power and a good trainer like Ari.
10/10 Surprise Yourself

Ari's classes looked SO hard it took a while before I tried it out. It's easy to avoid working harder than is comfortable -- which is exactly why I need Ari's classes, the most challenging of which is the TRX/kettlebell combo. It's now a year and a half later. He didn't just dramatically change my workout, he changed my mindset. It's not about duration or even feeling good. Rather, it's constantly testing yourself. If you're down after 10 min, so be it. If you delay or stop before the actual tipping point, Ari will encourage, cajole, yell or even shame you (in a good way!) into continuing - anything to squeeze every ounce of effort from you. More specific reasons why his class works for me are:
(1) VARIETY: It's muscle schizophrenia, not just confusion - different muscles work and ache in random rotation. And, of course, it's never boring.
(2) CHALLENGE: There's always heavier, harder, longer. Complacency and plateaus are impossible. Frustration is a certainty and the hope of redemption makes you try again.
(3) KNOWLEDGE: Ari keeps abreast of new techniques and health issues, including body maintenance in between workouts. Even when you're not in class, you find yourself implementing something he's taught you.
(4) EFFICIENCY: It's hands-down a more productive, fruitful workout. You build more muscles and burn more calories at a faster rate.
(5) FAITH: He believes in you even when you have your doubts and you end up surprising yourself. It really feels like he cares about your progress and takes pride in it. He's always mindful of your capabilities (including injuries) and never pushes for the sake of it.
(6) BENEFITS: There's no better endorsement than to say his classes work. You see and feel the changes in your body and nothing is more addicting or motivating than positive results (except frustration, see (2) above). There's a reason why about half the people in his big classes are regulars and why some of those regulars still can't get enough and sign up for his small group class and more Ari-brand pain.

I've known Ari for almost four years. I first met him taking total body and sports conditioning classes. I always found his classes to be challenging and never boring. About a year ago I started taking his small group classes TRX and kettlebells. At first I thought why is he always pushing me to work harder, move faster and increase the weight I use. I finally realized because he BELIEVES I can do these things. Ari knows what all of his clients are capable of when they work to their full potential. He will always push you to accomplish what you don't think is possible. He will never make you feel bad because your unable to do something. Ari will spend the time and break things down until you get it! The most AMAZING thing about working with him is not only achieving your personal goals but seeing how excited he is for you when you reach them. I recently got my HKC or hardstyle kettlebell instructor certification. Ari was 100 % there coaching me with my swing, TGU and goblet squats. Before I even attended the HKC I registered for the RKC in April 2012. Im very excited for the next few months of training with Ari because I know he will give me all the tools to get to my goal of RKC. No matter what your fitness or training goals are we all need a coach, let Ari be the coach for you!
10/10 If You Are Going to Do It; Do It With the Best!

I started taking Aris total body conditioning classes about 3 years ago and immediately noticed something very different and unique from his classes compared to other instructors or trainors I've worked with. #1) His classes are always full with the same people that come back week after week; year after year. #2) His workouts always kick your ass and make you feel like you are going to hate yourself the next morning from the muscle soarness (but in a good way). #3) Although the workouts are intense, you still manage to have a lot of fun and get a good laugh each time.
Ari genuinely cares about his clients and goes above and beyond to help achieve and surpass your goals. He makes you think outside the box and always encourages you to strive for bigger and better things from yourself. That is how I became wrapped into his Kettlebell Craze. His enthusiasm for kettlebells is contagious and inspiring and it hooks you from the very beginning. Even though I was very much out of my comfort zone trying kettle bells, his motivation, encouragement, knowledge and attention to detail makes you feel comfortable and assures you that you are learning the right way, being safe and always gaining the most out of every exercise, even if it is something more basic as a swing clean or press or more complex like a Turkish get up or snatch. His method to teaching any type of an individual of all different fitness levels helps you understand the mechanics to what you are doing and why. I feel so fortunate to have Ari as a trainor. I never thought I would sign up and keep re-signing for kettlebells, but when you see the difference it makes in your strenghth, endurance, and confidence its hard not to keep coming back....Thanks Ari!

Ari is an amazing instructor! I've been training with Ari for a couple of years now, in both his small group training kettlebell class and his sports/body conditioning group classes. He is super dedicated to his students, always brings his A game to class, and he knows his stuff! Ari works with his students until we get it right and he doesn't give up on us. He is a true professional. The proof is in the results his students see. No matter what your level, Ari knows how to get you to the next level, and to continually move you forward in your training goals. He also pays close attention to each individual's needs, limitations, strengths, etc. Ari is a one in a million instructor!

Ari is an excellent trainer. I have been training with him for almost 3 years and I always look forward to every traing session. Ari is a great motivator and a great teacher. He constantly ups the ante to challenge you and keeps you engaged. Ari teaches you the correct form and technique. I have learned the proper form for swings, cleans, presses and many more. I am amazed at how much stronger I have gotten and yet have not bulked up-(a huge fear of mine that I always ask Ari-"this isn't going to make me big right?) but instead I have gotten much leaner. Ari has also increased my running speed and has helped me become a more efficient runner. So much so that I broke 4 hours in the NYC marathon and hope to do that again this year!! Ari is a great trainer and a great guy. I cannot recommend him enough! Thanks Ari!
10/10 Form Extrodinaire

I have been training with Ari for two and a half years. He has helped me lose about 4" from my hips, and a little over that from my chest - and keep it off! The reason I stick with him isn't just his advice and his discipline - it's that he teaches me how to develop a base for all my exercising.
I have learned the proper form for TKU and Swings. As I had a very severe accident when I was 16, the left side of my body is significantly less flexible than the right. Ari has worked with me over and over until I can do both of these exercises now, and apply the knowledge and correct form to cleans, uppercuts, snatches, presses, goblet squats, and more.
He constantly changes my goals, and keeps me focused and engaged. He thinks outside the box and when I look back I still can't believe how far I have come!
