I worked with Jason for 5 weeks and would probably be working with him still if I hadn't moved to Australia. His classes are like a support group for "movement enthusiasts". I had been kettlebelling on my own for about half a year before meeting Jason and it was awesome having a full-timer who I could talk to. His level of energy was always high and he approached every class with a sense of humor. His expertise really goes far beyond kettlebells; each class we would do quite a number of Z-health movements to loosen up and cool down. He really is terrific to work with.

I found J here at Dragon Door and ask him if he could help me with my form. We have been working out at the park down the street for a few sessions and I have learned more than I thought I would ever learn. I was looking towards the KB workouts but I have learned so much more!! He is working with me on mobility something I never thought about. I HIGHLY recommend J to anyone in Denver who is looking to change their life path because working with him is more than just getting back in shape. My name is Darryl Lardizabal CPT,CES,PES, USAW Sports Performance Coach, and Z-Health R,I,S,T Sports Performance Specialist and have been around the block so to speak, working with several trainers, doctors, physiologists, etc, and not many who I feel are "with it" in terms of knowledge and practical application of what makes the body really tick.
I met Jason at both Level 2 and Level 4 Z-Health certifications and really spent some time talking to him about what makes his training tick, and not only does he make training fun (we had a blast throwing around kettlebells), but brings on the technical expertise to go with it. I've watched him training clients and had tips from him that saved me months of learning on my own.
Next time I'm back in Colorado, I'm planning to give him a visit, because he's not just a good trainer, but a good friend!

I would recommend this instructor because of his ability to modify the exercises to meet my needs. Even though I have a bum-knee, I'm able to improve my strength. That's really important to me at my age and stage in life, to save my bones. Jason keeps it interesting by introducing a variety of kettlebell moves in combination with the Z-Health work. I'm energized and inspired by the growth I've achieved under Jason's capable instruction, especially after sitting at a desk all day!

Jason Wood's Kettlebell-I class has been an incredibly rewarding experience. In my line of work as a pastry chef I consume thousands of calories daily, and the aerobic fitness has helped me to maintain a healthy weight. In 5 weeks I have gained strength and coordination that has improved my quality of life. I originally heard about this class through Jason, as well as through the WR Rec Center. Originally I wanted to take this class to increase strength, stay lean, and develop different types of speed skills. From this program I have lost about 2lbs and I have decreased my body fat% by 2 1/2%. I have increased my strength by about 15-20 pounds per exercise when I'm in the gym. I've been through basic training with the Navy and kettlebells training was much more difficult and effective than there training was. I have never experienced such rapid results as I have with this. I've discovered that my range of motion far greater in my shoulders than it ever has been and I am now able to touch my toes where as before I wasn't.
Jason made the learning process extremely comfortable and easy. He teaches different moves, such as Turkish getup, in stages, focusing on proper form so that you receive maximum results. On of the best parts about his teaching style is that he is focused on pushing your abilities to the limit, while reducing pain, and preventing personal injury. Z Health is amazing in terms how it works only with your bodies "wiring." It seems that your body will instantly become more flexible, without stretching, by simply lubricating your joints with Z Health.
The class was absolutely fantastic and that is why I'm taking it again. I'm looking forward to seeing how kettlebells and Z health will affect my performance as an athlete.

I was looking for something to increase speed, change overall body composition, and to decrease the chance of injury. I am a competitive Roller-Derby player, and wanted to improve all aspects of my sport. I signed up during the off-season to get in shape and prepare me for the season. I have had a great experience with Jason's kettlebell and Z-Health classes that I have signed up again to keep the results coming. It is such a different approach and Jason has been a big part of it. He pushes me to try harder and work on technique. I laugh that I don't feel it during the workout, but the next day is killer!

I have been working out for most of my adult life, typically 3-5 hours a week, without ever seeing much change in my body. After five weeks of kettlebells, I feel stronger, leaner, and much more fit! I have tried every workout and have never had this much fun. Not to mention great results! I have increased flexibility and reduced joint pain.

I lost approximately 7 lbs over the duration of the Jason kettlebell class. I believe I have less cramps in the foot and legs. I feel healthier and better about myself after taking this class. My ADL's as a musician seem to be more fluid and smooth as a results of Jason's education and knowledge about the body and muscles. As a newcomer to kettlebells and fitness classes in general, I think the class was fun and what I liked most was how everyone else made me feel. Great class, great fun and great job Jason I am hooked.

I've been working out with Jason twice a week for over a year. I've been able to run/bike/hike faster and farther and I never get sore. Kettlebells definitely work. Improvements in core strength and flexibility are amazing. Jason is much more than a trainer. He is a coach that will help you get to where you need to be. During his sessions you do work out, but he is always teaching you and adding things for each individual as well that will help them get exactly what they need. I had the privilege of meeting Jason at a Z-health certification last year. Jason helped me organize a program for my kettlebell studio that included z-health with kettlebell. I have used the program with much success ever since. He has a wonderful sense of humor which makes him fun to work with.
Jason also took away an elbow problem that I was having during presses, which was very helpful, and I have gained strength with my new ability to press.

I took Jason's Intro to Kettlebells class earlier this year. Due to my work schedule, I can't be a regular student of his. But today I was in the gym and he saw me working out. He took some time to critique my workout and offered some advice as well as taught me some new moves. Jason is a great instructor and really knows his stuff. I thought I was in good shape and had good technique, so I called Jason for some fine tuning before I went to my RKC certification. I had so much to learn! Jason did a great job of pushing me in every way- polishing my work, correcting mistakes, pushing my conditioning, and saving my hands. In addition, he taught me some great Z-Health drills to keep me limber, relaxed, and strong. I couldn't reccommend him more!

I arranged a 1 on 1 training session with Jason after meeting him on the Dragondoor forum. I must say I am not usually one to seek out a trainer but typically buy the dvd, book, etc. and figure things out on my own. I've been doing that with KB's for 4-5 months now with ETK and Superjoints and Resilient dvd's (all of which are excellent). However, after just one session with Jason I have to say it was worth every penny. Jason's depth of knowledge both as an RKC and Zhealth instructor was amazing. Before even picking up a KB, he had that nagging knee and shoulder pain pretty much gone. I'm not sure if this makes sense but I just felt like I was moving better all from working through specific joint mobility Zhealth drills. I've since received and begun working through the R phase program at home but don't think it would have made as much sense if I hadn't worked with Jason. Then we pulled out the KB and within minutes my swing felt crisper and sharper and just generally better. Little things that seemed to hurt with the swing were gone under his sharp eye. My TGU form was much farther off of what it needed to be and probably contributing to some of my nagging pains. He was very patient in working me through the drill from bottom to top and back again. Now I feel more confident and stable as I'm working my TGU's. His attention to detail and level of expertise were mind boggling. I am not a professional or even amateur athlete in any sense of the word. I'm a 40 y/o working dad who really just wants to keep up with his kids without killing myself and yet working with Jason I felt like his interest in my success was no less than if he was working with a professional athlete. Again, Jason's attention to detail, knowledge base and depth and passion for what he does are second to none in my book. The books & DVD's I have from Dragondoor and Zhealth are definitely excellent resources, but now they are making more sense. It's like I now have the context to really understand what they are teaching. If you're anywhere near Denver, CO schedule a session with Jason. I drove over an hour to meet with him and haven't second-guessed that decision for a minute. Thanks so much Jason.

I came to the Jason's Kettlebell 1 class for two reasons: One was to learn proper form using Kettlebells and two was to learn the whys and how Kettlebells differ from other weight training. I believe I got both. As a person with coaching experience myself, I could appreciate how well Jason was presenting the material. As someone who has participated in fairly consistent strength and conditioning for the past 30 years I could tell Jason knew his stuff even and opened me up to some new stuff has well. Even when I disagreed with some of the stuff he taught, I always was able to understand his point of view and the concept he was presenting. Jason also broke down some very difficult movements into easy to master segments.All of these things will make continue using Kettlebells simple and effective
10/10 I Wish I Had Started this sooner!

I have just finished a five-week beginning kettlebell class after working with Jason as a personal trainer for five weeks. I went to Jason because I was getting NO results using treadmills, weights, etc. I felt I had tried everything and was getting bigger. And, I was hurting in my shoulders! I bought into the "correct" shoes, which as it turned out, were totally wrong for me and part of the problem not part of the solution. I started with Jason and the first thing he said was "get rid of those shoes"! Since he explained everything to me first instead of just telling me what to do, I was able to understand why I should do the specific movements and why I should change shoes (which I have done and it's made a huge difference). This information and Jason's patience made a big difference in the results and in my motivation to do my homework and continue in the kettlebell exercise process. In the five weeks of personal training, I dropped a clothing size and was not experiencing nearly the frustration of keeping the weight off and even continuing to drop a few pounds. With the Z Exercise, I was able to start lifting my arms over my head which had not been the case when I started the personal training because my shoulder joints were always hurting. I have found the Kettlebell classes to be terrific for overall wellness in terms of strength and cardio. I'm feeling better and using every muscle in my body!!! I am telling more people about Jason's Z Health and kettlebells and trying to get them off of what I now know are detrimental training practices. I will be starting Kettlebell boot camp classes in a week -- in the meantime, I am going for walks in my flat, flexible shoes. Jason did a great job in the beginning class that I just finished. We had people who were really at all different levels of fitness and Jason was able to give each of us the attention needed for our respective level of ability. Jason was always cognizant of the safety issues and, not only corrected the safety lapse, but told us how to remedy the move and how we could be injured from the safety lapse. I wish I had met Jason sooner for not only the kettlebell classes but for the Z Health. During my life outside of class, I find myself using the Z Health drills for overall well being. Good job Jason! Keep up the good work and I will continue to tell people about Z Health and Kettlebells!

The results I experienced at the end of this class were achieved because Jason pushed us all to an extent I didn't feel I personally was capable of achieving when I first started. I'm 77 years old, inherited great genes, so I feel this gives me an excellent start on my own program to achieve a level of good fitness that I can apply to tennis and golf using kettlebells and the Z Health DVD's.

I have been overweight my entire life and always DESPISED exercise classes. Jason's Kettlebell class is truly the only class of it's kind that I have ever enjoyed.
I have grown substantially stronger it the 5 weeks I've been taking the class and more confidence in my physical ability. Jason is an excellent teacher whose commitment to keeping us safe in class was exemplary. He gave us more individual attention then I've ever received in other classes.
Jason also has this sense of humor about him that makes people in his class feel more like friends then some stranger standing next to you. Very supportive, very fun and very effective.

I am stunned at the speed with which KB's created big improvements in my body. I learned how to recruit the larger muscles in my body my hips have never felt stronger. Near life long issues with my back have disappeared in only 3-4 weeks.
Being a Feldenkrais practitioner and movement teacher for over 13 years. I appreciated Jason's clarity of teaching new and complex skills. His integration of Z health makes learning kettlebells go faster and greatly decrease the chance of injury. Using Kettlebells under the instruction of Jason has been a great experience. My lower back and hernia condition where not effected at all and Jason made sure I never over did it. Being one of the older students it was nice to know I was in good hands. I never felt I was treated like I could not do something because of my age(77). This class also was a great combination of aerobic and strength training. I only wish I had stared this 30 years ago. Better late then never though.

Ok, so it is 9:05pm in Denver, CO and I'm chilling in the airport waiting to go home. Five days ago, I made my way to this beautiful city to train with the one and only, JWood (a.k.a. Jason Wood from How do you move.com). What a learning experience!
We started Thursday off with Jason's private clients at 5:45am and continued on until we finished around 9:00pm that night. What a day! And what a trainer!
I watched as Jason interacted with his clients, teaching them Z-Health and Kettlebells. I was amazed at how well he was able to teach them movement drills and how important follow-up homework for the client really is.
And you know what the best part is? Not a single client of Jason's has any pain! He has been able to help an individual sleep through the night who hasn't had a full nights sleep in over a year. And he helped her to do this in only two weeks! Amazing right?!
Jason not only helped me clear up some of my own questions about Z-Health and the RKC, but gave me a better understanding on how these tow systems work and just how amazing they really are! I have so many new ideas and ways to incorporate the program into my clients' routines that I can't wait to get started.
He was also able to teach me some key points to look for with my own clients, and how to be a better individual personally and professionally. I leave my experience with Jason to be uplifting and insightful, and I would highly recommend anyone take the time to work with him!

I continued to take Kettlebell. I have high blood pressure. I was never into salty foods or TV dinners and the high pressure was found to be a genetic issue. I was put on medication. I stared training for a half marathon and did the Horsetooth Half in Fort Collins and my blood pressure didn't move. After 3 weeks of kettlebell level 2, my blood pressure went down 20 points! Maybe some day I can come off these meds. Thanks Jason!

The combination of Kettlebells and Z health has changed my life. Jason does an excellent job at mixing exercise and drills that complement each other in order to produce a killer workout that address muscular strength , pain relief and cardiovascular fitness. One of the biggest improvements I have noticed is the pain I used to get in my calves and lower back when I used to run is gone. After taking his level 2 kettlebell class I completed my best time ever in the Boulder Boulder 10k race...pain free. The classes also build great comradery amongst other students keeping things interesting and fun. Jason's Kettlebell class has helped me in more ways then I thought it would when I signed up for his 5 week beginner class. Having a physically demanding job left me with a hurt back and weak core. Jason showed me the skills I need to decrease my back pain and increase my movement quality. After 5 weeks of daily Z health and 2 days a week of Kettlebell swings and Turkish get ups my back feels great and I can sleep through the night. Jason was great with each students individual needs and I felt totally conformable learning kettlebells form him, and best of all I can sleep through the night.

I signed up for Jason's level 1 Kettlebell class to improve my physical fitness and strength. To my surprise my nagging shoulder pain has disappeared and my carpal tunnel is so much better. After a serious cycling accident a couple of years ago I was told never to cycle again. I have been able to ride again since then but minimally and always with pain. After training with Jason and Kettlebells I can not only ride pain free, but my position is where it is was pre-accident. Jason runs a well designed class and is more fun then I have ever had getting in shape. I highly recommend training with Jason.

When registering for Kettlebell 1 I was looking for a workout to replace traditional weight training. After the first class it was apparent the Kettlebells and HARDSTYLE was the way to go. Jason's no fluff approach to teaching and constant focus for improvement is unmatched. After 3 weeks of training I passed my CPAT fire fighters test with ease, I was even able to snatch a 53lb KB for 100 reps in 5 min. I have recommend Jason and Kettlebells to all of my friends. I cannot wait to learn more drills.

I made some pretty amazing changes in Jason's 5 week Kettlebell class. I gained muscle tone, lost 1 1/2 inches in bust, 2 inches in waist and another 1 1/2 in hips without really changing my diet. Jason showed correct form and would "punish" us he we fell out of it. I am glad i found Kettlebells and Jason. I also ran a 5k with much training.

recently had the privilege of training one afternoon with RKC and Z-Health instructors Jason Wood and Brian Copeland. As an Olympic-style weightlifter with national-level competition under my belt, I was already strong and flexible, but these men and their expert techniques helped spot some significant areas for improvement in my squat. The importance of this insight cannot be overstated, as the squat movement is at the heart of every Olympic-style lift. Within a few minutes of analysis they were able to spot one leg bowing in towards my center, and a few Z-health techniques later, I was able to feel the joints loosening. Under their instruction I reached the point where it was like a light flipped on in my nervous system, and I said, "Aha!" and realized what I'd been doing wrong all this time. They were able to recommend movement patterns and related drills that will undoubtedly be of great benefit in the future of my training, for both greater strength and healthier knee joints. I highly recommend Jason Wood for learning how kettlebell and Z-health methods can and will work for you.

Being in the fitness industry for over a decade I thought I had a good grasp on body mechanics and exercise training, boy was I wrong. I just attended Jason's Level 1 Kettlebell workshop, and what an eye opener it was. I learned more about my body and its limits in the 2 hours I worked with him than from years of weight training. Jason is accommodating three women in a "personal training" environment after we learned of Russion Kettle Bells in CA and sought him out. Five sessions in, all three of us have signed up for his beginning RKB class. His insistence on good form and skills keeps us coming back for more. Been working with Jason for two weeks and i have lost 10 pounds and i am seeing result with my body that working out at the gym with free wieghts and running machine for a year could not do match the results that he is helping me with. I referee Ice Hockey and play mens league hockey. I can not believe how much better i feel after a game that i ref or play in. After reffing or playing i would have to go to my Chiropractor for adjustment and since Jason, the Z-health and Kettlebell training i have no need for the Chiropractor. These are the three words I chose to define Jason Wood. I had the opportunity to have Jason as an assistant coach during my RKC certification course in October 2008. Although Jason was very intense, and hard on his students, he demonstrated great concern for each person in the group. I met Jason a few years ago and he had always been an amazing trainer making every workout challenging, as well as an enjoyable experience. As soon as he introduced me to kettlebells, I was HOOKED! He taught me a variety of different exercises on them and how it drastically improved my core strength and more importantly, helped strengthen my lower back to the point where it wouldn't hurt anymore after power lifts such as squatting, deadlifts, and clean and jerk. I used to wrestle and I still workout fairly consistently, so I thought I had good core strength to begin with. Nevertheless, Jason's kettlebell training made a world of difference and I can't stress enough how much it changed me for the better. I Ranging from those of us who only hit the gym on occasion, all the way to well-conditioned athletes, his kettlebell training can still improve you regardless of your condition. I had a well defined mid-section before, but with the kettlebells, it really gets that extra definition in the right places because it's a full body encompassing workout. I didn't even run when I did the kettlebells and I was becoming shredded from just the training itself! Jason has kept things very interesting for me to say the least. He started training me at a local soccer field with the kettlebells. After about a week we would have an audience. No one has ever seen a cannon ball with handle. I'm a 130lb woman. In 6 months I am doing get ups with a 53lb kettlebell and loving it. My abs are steel now. Thank you Jason for everything !

I thought I was in great shape until Jason introduced kettlebells into our workouts. That's when I learned I had areas on which I needed to work. But with Jason's assistance and the kettlebells, my flexibility and muscular endurance have improved dramatically. These exercises have helped me to become a stronger fire fighter. Not only that, he has also worked with my wife and three daughters who continue to use the kettlebells. Jason has recently moved to Colorado where I know he will be making the same impact on the folks out there. His enthusiasm for kettlebell workouts is definitely contagious!

I had been working with kettlebells for several months before I had the pleasure of training with Jason. During the initial functional movement screening his keen eye caught many subtle flaws which he immediately pointed out. We discussed changes in form which would pay big dividends in function. Based upon his assessment we also talked about exercises that would open up blocked neural pathways and thus improve balance and flexibility.
The subsequent kettlebell session was an eye opener. After just a few repetitions of various exercises he pointed out simple yet critical imperfections that we addressed right away. I am confident that after one session I have made exponential strides. I am looking forward to training with Jason again.

Training with Jason has made me more aware of my body and how strong I can be in less time then I thought possible. After 3 sessions with him I not only feel stonger, but I swear I'm 2 inches taller. Jason's high energy and understanding of bio-mechanics makes him the only person I would go to for current and future kettlebell training... and oh yea, don't let his small frame fool you. He's very strong for his size.

Mr. Wood has been my Instructor since he has received his certification and the increase in my strength and physique is the true testament to his proficiency. I would highly recommend to anyone who is serious about seeing actual results in there strength, conditioning and form to make the time; and put forth the effort to train with Mr. Wood. You will be the better for it.

I have been training with J. Wood since he got his certification. He's changed my body in ways that I never thought were possible. My boyfriend can't keep his hands off of me anymore. I find his form to be a perfect example for me to model my own performance after. I highly recomend him as an instructor.

I have had the pleasure to be screened and have my KB lifts form corrected by Jason Wood, RKC. During the screening process he was able to tell me more about my body alignment and mechanics than anyone else did within minutes. After performing some swings, cleans, C&P, snatches and get-ups Jason corrected my form. This made made my KB lifts and holds feel much more natural and safe.
Following the corrections Jason put me through a brief workout routine that was interesting and got me breathing. I look forward to the results from the program he gave me to improve my body alignment and movement. I highly recommend Jason Wood, RKC to anyone that wants to improve their body's function, movement and strenght.
