10/10 My 1 Year Kettlebell Experiment

By JeffC / Falls Church, VA

A little over a year ago I purchased this kit. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I have a busy job, family, and many demands on my time and the kettlebell fits in perfectly with my lifestyle. Before I started with ETK, I went to Globo Gym on the weekend and worked out pretty hard and made some gains but always wondered if isolation moves and silly schemes (legs/chest/ arms 3 sets by 12 reps on Saturday and back/shoulders 3 sets by 12 reps on Sunday for example) were really the best layout for gains. A few weeks after just practicing with my 1 pood kettlebell, as recommended in ETK, I quit the gym and started doing the Program Minimum. Over the winter, I completed the Rite of Passage workout with the 1 pood and have since purchased a 20 kg and 24 kg bell and am preparing to do the Rite of Passage workout with the 20kg this winter after doing the Program Minimum with the 20 kg earlier this year.

My conditioning has shot the roof following just the Program Minimum. I do a lot of bicycling and the intensity of the kettlebell swing manmaker workouts, while only lasting 10-15 minutes, has made the relatively steady state portions of my biking a lot easier. Things like hauling furniture up stairs, doing yard work, dragging a round screaming toddlers, hauling 30 lb sacks of dog food, all seem so easy now.

My body has seen an interesting transformation. In January 2009 I resolved to lose some pounds, watched my diet, and readily lost 20 lbs over 3-4 months. My weight loss stagnated after that but I was not really overweight to begin with, about 180 lbs at 5'9" after losing 20 lbs, so started around 200 lbs. Over the past few months something has happened that I've never really witnessed before, I actually gained about 5 lbs over 3 months but my pants have gotten looser in the waist, surely because I'm swapping some muscle for fat. At the same time, I'm trying to eat healthy but not really counting calories. My blood pressure, pulse, and blood measurements are all excellent. I also feel stronger than I've ever been before through less than 3 hours a week of workouts.

As far as the specific items of the kit, the kettlebell itself is fine although I do not have much else to compare it with as I do not have any non-Dragondoor 16kg bells. The DVD shows how to do five exercises with a great deal of detail and goes over several warmup drills and safety points. The book, in my opinion, is the best part of the kit. It explains in detail how to do the same five moves. However, it also has two exercise programs, the Program Minimum and the Rite of Passage. Here is where the kit really shines. There is a lot of thought that went into these two programs and many interesting concepts: varying the load of your workout from workout to workout, getting in variety, gradually increasing your load, introducing varying time limits into your workout by rolling dice to determine its length, etc.

The one drawback for me of the kit is that the DVD and book have bonus features that are not as easy to access as they should be. I buy books and DVDs to have all the content in one convenient place but having these "bonus" features outside of the book and DVD defeats this purpose.
All in all though I would highly recommend this kit to anyone interested in kettlebells.

10/10 100+ft added to hitting power

By Ian Murphy / Hudson Valley, NY, USA

I started using kettlebells in November of 2008. I am a decent sized guy @ 6'1 and 225lbs, and I can whack a baseball pretty far and thought I had reached my peak physically at age 27 (when i got the KBs). After 5 months of using the Program Minimum and ROP with the 24kg KB, I played baseball for the first time since the previous season ended . Remember the What the Hell affect? Well, I probably hit a ball 100ft further than I had the previous summer. While I was strong before, the KBs (swings especially) transfered that strength into POWER. My friend and I were shocked. He said WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN DOING? I said kettlebells. So, in short, KBs enhance your explosive power and have the ability to make a decent athlete a very good one. Also, being a martial artist, my punching got faster and MUCH harder and I stopped jamming up my wrists when I connected well.

10/10 Rotator Cuff, Shoulder Impingement Totally Healed

By Bret Dealey / Glen Allen, Virginia USA

Paval's instructional workout videos are about much more than novel workout apparatus and routines.

My name is Bret Dealey. I recently spent close to a grand at Dragon Door on Pavel's instructional videos, books and kettlebells. At first I was just looking for a way to add some interest to my weightlifting routines. In addition to workout variety I also received a very pleasant and needed suprise.

I'm 46 and have lifted weights most of my life. Recently I reinjured my left shoulder (pinched bursa, tendon inflamation) doing weighted paralell bar dips. Literally withing two weeks of using kettlebells (get-ups in particular) my shoulder was completely free of any pain or restriction of motion.

The kettlebell exercises strengthened the stablizing rotator cuff muscles. In addition, after reading Pavel's material, I realized I had spent a lifetime developing disproportiont strength. I adjusted my workouts to included more pulling movements and less bench pressing and I now have complete stablization in my shoulder.

I would highly recommend any of Dragon Door's materials. Please pass this review onto Pavel. I'd like him to know the positive contribution he is making to the health and healing in other peoples lives.

One-Thousand Smiles,

Bret Dealey

9/10 Hooked on Kettlebells

By Jeffrey Rogers / Taunton, Massachusetts United States

I received the start up kit and immediately read the book, watched the video and started working out with the 35lb. KB. I found Pavel's teaching style interesting and to the point. I found handling the 35 lb. KB was fairly easy and probably should have ordered the 44lb. version but I find I still get a tremendous cardio workout with the kit I received and have become totally hooked on this type of training. I am hungry to learn more about kettlebell training as I continue my progress.

10/10 The KISS principle at it's best

By Mike Edwards / Gainesville, FL USA

First, pay attention to Pavel's warnings to respect the kettlebell - its easy to see how it can hurt you if you get sloppy with it. Second, if I was younger I could easily have started with a heavier kettlebell, but with the wear and tear of my 53 years, I'm happy to have the 35 pounder, esp. for rehabbing my shoulders which began immediately. My plan is to work through the Rite of Passage test before moving up to a heavier kettlebell - slowly but surely. I just love the whole body involvement that this cast iron cannonball engenders. I also have Pavel's Martial Power DVD series which is loaded with useful treatises on power breathing, muscle tension, etc. that are immediately applicable to ANY training, including the kettlebell. Like everyone else, I wish I'd had the benefit of this training my whole life. Better late than never. Thanks, Pavel

9/10 All In One Gym

By F Ansah / Nassau, The Bahamas

I was skeptical of some of the claims being made regarding RK so I decided to invest in a 35lber and the DVD and bk.
Was I in for a surprise, I had read other reviews advising newbies to watch the DVD before starting any exercise. Here is my take on that.WATCH THE DVD before you attempt any exercise, mainly to maintain correct form and for safety. Already I have noticed an increase in my shoulder strength. My only question is how do I work legs?
I am getting ready to order the next weight up from the 35lb RK. This equipment works!!!

10/10 I strongly recommend this kit

By Mike / Bellefontaine, Ohio

At first I was skeptical about the claims made by the makers of this product, but after thorough research I thought I'd give it a try. I was (and still am) amazed at the workout this little cannonball with a handle dishes out. I showed it to a friend that has been a trainer for 30 years, and he also couldn't believe what you could do with this small piece of equipment. After showing it to another friend, he went out and bought a cheaper version that came with a DVD at a local sporting goods store. The DVD was nowhere near the level of Pavels, with little or no explanation of how to do the exercises correctly, and he hurt himself on the second day. I showed him Pavels DVD and different excerpt from the book to get him on the right path and explained to him "it's your fault" that he got hurt and with the proper technique, that will be avoided in the future. In closing, I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a workout routine that will test your whole body, cardio and endurance. I will be a Girevik for life. Thanks Pavel, you are the man.

9/10 Excellent Product Package

By Nathan / Atlanta, Georgia

I have loved lifting since a teen. I have a BowFlex, a set of SelectTech dumbbells, an AirDyne, and a treadmill. These are all solid home fitness tools. However, the Enter The Kettlebell program and the kettlebell are producing increases in strength and overall fitness at a faster, more consistent pace than I have experienced with the other tools I have used. The kettlebell and the support on the forum at DragonDoor.com have exceeded my expectations.

Thanks Pavel and DragonDoor.com.

This kit will provide you with two mainstays: the highest quality kettlebell on the market and a very complete introduction to the major movements and exercises with the kettlebell. Don't expect anything sexy or entertaining in the DVD... just the basics needed to build your foundation of kettlebell knowledge and fitness.

10/10 Thirty Five pounds of Muscle Dynamite

By Terrell Manasco / Lake Jackson, Texas

I have been working out with weights off and on for a long time. I am not a body builder or any thing just like to work out. Between my shoulders and knees I have had to back off a little I am fifty seven years old so my endurance isn't as when I was thirty. I have been working out with the KB for about a month now and can feel a difference already in my legs and my glutes, and my back, and my shoulders and knees are not hurting. I am not doing the full work out yet getting use to the KB and all but it is a very good work out.

Thank you!

10/10 52 year old strength athlete COMPLETELY blown away

By Jimmy Pierce / Manorville. PA, USA

I've been training at a high level of intensity in the strength and martial arts for over 35 years.I'm a chiropractor with a strong emphasis on rehab, own a full service health club and have extensive post doctorate education in fitness and rehabilitation. With that said I must also state I've unfortunately been operated 4 times in my lumbar spine and have suffered with various degrees of chronic pain for years. After being introduced to Pavel by my brother 2 years ago, I was skeptical on just how effective KB training can be. After all, in my mind I knew it all. Man, was I wrong. In spite of all my formal education,Mr.Tsatsoulin's advice had such clarity I had one of those " aha" moments. Now,I'm nearly using KB training 100% in my routines and am using them more and more in my rehab practice. Mr.Tssatoulin's absolute clarity on functional training has catapulted me to levels I thought were long in my past. I have almost totally eradicated my chronic pain, am as explosive as I ever was in my younger years and have single digit body fat% at 6'2" and 220 lbs. The book and DVD is in my opinion an absolute must for anyone starting these programs. Mr. Tsatoutline insistence on safety and technique are very well advised. My personal goal is to do 200 snatches with my 53lb KB in 10 minutes by the end of 2012. I probably can do it sooner but the books advice on slower progressions is essential for training without getting injured. Having the variety workouts suggested along with the load and volume variations are just really great instruction. Upon getting to those 200 snatches, I'm going for my KB certification and hopefully can contribute in someway to the whole concept Mr.Tsatsouline is teaching. A very exciting time for this 52 year old know it all:) Functional training, kinetic chain movements and high intensity short duration work is the way to achieving ultimate fitness potential and aesthetic appeal. In closing, I must mention one more thing, the people mentioned in ETK book are fantastic,I especially get gassed on Steve Cotter's approaches. That dude is another mutant. So very inspirational. Many thanks to you Mr.Tssatsouline. I hope I can personally shake your hand someday.

10/10 55 years old and feeling younger and stronger than I thought possible!

By Garry / Washington, DC

I 55 years old and a busy senior Naval Officer. Finding time to workout is difficult. I heard about Kettlebells and searched the internet and found Pavel and Dragon Door. I love the KB, book and DVD. After following Pavel's simple routines, that I can perform anywhere, for 6 short weeks, I've lost 2 inches around my belly and feel better than I have in years. I see definition in my arms and shoulders that I've never seen before. I am energized after each workout. I have gained functional strength that has enhanced my quality of life. The KB itself is a raw beauty compelling you to workout. The book I read and reread picking up more tips each time. You need the DVD just to hear Pavel say, "Keep your glutes, TIGHT," His words ring in your ears as you practice. This has improved every aspect of my health and quality of life. My bride of 30 years loves the results. Trust me boys. This system is not just for gym rats.

10/10 present

This was a christmas present for my son, so cant really rate the product. But the shipping was extremely fast !! And he was thrilled with the tape and book!

8/10 Unbelievably Versatile

By Jason / Atlanta, GA

I have been weight training for about 20 years with little or no cardio. I wanted to find a substitute for going to the gym and I have found it in the kettlebell. I have trained with it for about 3 weeks and have noticed immediate results. The first was work capacity. By just doing basic moves for the first week or so I noticed how much more endurance I had in everything from normal day to day things to heavy work. The next was a reduction in body fat. I look forward to mastering the clean and snatch. You won't be disappointed.

3/10 book and dvd not to good

By brian / boca raton fl

love the kettlebell, work outs are great, but the book and dvd seem to be not to great. There are no planned workouts for example do 5 sets of 10 reps of these exercises in this order. Its more of a free for all. I would have liked some more guidance with the work outs but the kettlebell itself is great and i have developed a work out routine based on some of the exercises you show

10/10 Simply amazing...

By Jeff Dunkin / Pauls Valley, Oklahoma United States

I recently purchased the Men's 35lb Russian Kettlebell Quick Start Kit with DVD, and all I can say is WOW! I am impressed!

Initially I considered getting a heavier kettlebell because I lift weights regularly, and didn't think the 35lb would be heavy enough. After the first practice, I was seriously glad that I didn't get a heavier kettlebell. The 35lb (16kg) is much heavier than I thought it would be. I'm still doing the break-in, but I can tell that I'm getting stronger with every "practice." I'm also amazed at the cardio benefits of the kettlebell. When I read some of the other reviews before purchasing my kettlebell, I was really skeptical at how the kettlebell would benefit my cardiovascular health. After trying some of the exercises outlined by Pavel in the book and DVD, my doubts quickly vanished.

The information and the layout of the book are excellent, but when you combine it with the DVD, all of your questions will be answered. I continually watch the DVD to make sure that I'm doing things correctly.

I must say that I was hesitant to purchase the kit at first due to pricing. BUT, it was completely worth every single penny!!! I will be looking to get the 24kg kettlebell next. I highly recommend this kit to everyone who has an interest in getting stronger, leaner, and healthier. You will not be disappointed.

Again, I'm simply amazed!!

When I first heard about kettle bells i wasn't too sure of their productivity, now that I have been on the RKC program for a month, I am more than satisfied.

10/10 Script for 60 to 90 days

By Bruce Heckelman / Mill Spring, NC USA

For beginners, it would have been helpful to have a 60 day or 90 day scripted exercise regimen laid out. I wasn't sure which series of exercises to use and in what order to start and how many sets for each.

10/10 amazing!

By aaron wilharm / southport, nc

I love this thing. Efficient, effective, fun, unique. Wonderful fitness tool.

10/10 Challenging, Amazing, Scary

By Rick Collins / Palmerton, PA USA

Having chronic back problems (stenosis), and just having shoulder surgery, and determined to lose an extra 40 pounds over the next year, my research eventually led me to this kit. I had never heard of a kettlebell. I have read the book, watched the DVD about 5 times, and will watch it many more times. I am now doing the sumo squat lift, halo and pry the pump, along with tracking my calories. In 2 months I have lost 15 pounds, and about 3 inches off my waist. My back pain is decreasing, and I am able to do much more work much longer than I was before. I am takng it very slow, because it is kind of scary to think of swinging this mass of iron. I am working on my technique, but can only imagine the benefit of doing the cleans and swings when I see the results just from doing the squats and halo. I just hope my back can take it. So far, so good.

10/10 awesome workout!

By chuck hendzel / pgh,pa

after seeing the article with Sifu Dan Inosanto i decided to give kettle bells a try. i am always looking for new ways to help me get to the next level. already I've noticed improved strength and flexibility in my shoulders and i've only been using it for 3 weeks. overall i'm enjoying the whole quick start kit and it's been a great addition to my arsenal! i highly recommend it! peace and good health!

8/10 good start

By Luke / Highland, NY USA

I haven't seen much as yet from this product, but I am just beginning to actually do the workouts. The exercises take a little bit of time to get used to but once I got the exercises down, I could workout for less than 20 minutes and I feel it in my whole body for the rest of the day into the next. Product seems great so far!

10/10 new workout

10/10 great purchase

By Tod / North Carolina, USA

i just recently purchased the men's 35 lbs. kettlebell starter kit. the book was incredibly detailed, the dvd was excellent and demonstrated the proper form clearly and concisely. i love training with my new kettlebell, and already have noticed gains in my strength and conditioning. i am thoroughly satisfied and plan on buying more pavel dragon door products in the near future.

10/10 Great Workout tool, love it!

By B. Scott Creamer / San Diego , California.

I have had the 35lb (16kg) starter kit for roughly 3 weeks now after having purchased the Strength Stretching about a month prior to that (which has also been extremely helpful by the way!!) and I am extremely happy with my purchases!! I had wanted to get a kettlebell for a bit over a year and knew that I wanted to get the real thing from Pavel. Initially I had a hard time deciding what wt kbell to get but I am very glad that I went with the 16kg (35 lbs) kettlebell as it does feel quite a bit heavier than working with a 35 lbs dumbell.
The reason that I had trouble deciding is that I have been weight training for the past 6 years (started at age 45) , now I am 51 years old and I train mainly with the power lifts (ie squat, dead, bench), as well as dips, pullups/chins, etc.. so not much fluff (or metrosexual lifts in the words of Pavel..), in fact I have entered one meet so far (last year in May 2 months prior to turning 50.., hoping to enter another one this coming year..) and I can bench well over 200 lbs raw (so the normal suggestion would be start with 44lbs..). But about 2 months ago I injured my right shoulder so I knew that I needed to rehab that. All that being said even if I had not injured my shoulder just prior to ordering the kettlebell I would have been very happy to start with the 35 lbs kettlebell.
Okay, now onto specifics on the product. The book and Dvd in tandem are extremely helpful in getting the form down and working safely with the kettlebell, the get-ups, and swings and the remedial exercises are fantastic. I have already seen major improvement in my upper body strength as well as cardio vascular conditioning in just the short time that I have been using the program as a supplement to my regular weight training. I love being able to bring the kettlebell with me to the park and workout outside (although at my level of conditioning , I am really still practicing the movements more than doing a full workout, that being said the one hand or hand to hand swing smokes my hams/glutes/grip, and the get up smokes my whole upper body.
I am definitely getting what I wanted out of the kettlebell workout, better conditioning, denser muscles, more explosive strength (for example I was doing overhead squats yesterday and decided to power snatch the weight up overhead, the weight flew up over way easier than the last time I tried to do the same wt a few months back, additionally I noticed that it is FAR easier to keep my arms locked with the bar overhead on the OH squats since I have been practicing my get-ups a couple of times a week (with ONLY?? 35 lbs ), anyway if you are thinking about getting a kettlebell or you aren't sure and just want a great fun (yet painful) workout that will thrash you, get yourself a kettlbell now and get the real thing a russian kettlebell from Pavel, and make sure that you get the book and Dvd. You won't be sorry!

10/10 Simply the BEST!!!

By James Marzano / albany new york

I've been in and out of gyms and trained for weightlifting competitions. This the best workout I have ever done. I used to wrestle in high school and this is the closest i've every felt to being on the mat since then.

10/10 Fighting geezerhood

By Bob Broadbent / Boulder City, NV

I recently bought the starter kit and have been working out for about three weeks. I also bought two lighter kettle bells because I thought I would start lighter, since I am 53 and am recovering from a broken right wrist. However, I haven't used the lighter kettle bells since the first day. In fact I will soon order the next heavier kettlebell. The book and video give a good explanation of the exercise techniques. I think the kettle bell is helping me build strength in a very functional way. I already feel stronger and the exercises have helped my wrist recover dramatically. My goal is to do two hunderd kettle bell snatches without throwing up. Based on my recent progress I think that this goal is achievable. I won't be entering any karate or brazilian judo matches, but as long as I can do kettle bell get-ups I figure I won't need a handicap sticker.

10/10 This Kettlebell Set Is My Pride And Joy!

By Edna Thomasson for Mike Peyton / Milton, West Virginia

I really enjoy working out with my 35lb Russian Kettlebell! The book is great and I enjoy watching Pavel show all the different lifts that can be done to strengthen the entire body with Kettlebells! I recommend Kettlebells to everyone and it is great to have the Quick-Start Kit with DVD along with the Kettlebell! Thanks Pavel and DragonDoor.com!

10/10 You can only feel better if you work it.

By Ronald Bradley / Alpharetta, GA US

I have the 12/k9 kettleball and it's made such a difference. I've been in law enforcement for 29 years at the age of 50. I have plenty of healthy good years still ahead of me; this is my reason for moving up in weight, because I refuse to let myself get weaker as I get older. I intend to get stronger physically and mentally. I truly believe the quick-start kit is a motivator for conditioning mind and body.

10/10 It's one thing the Russians got right...

By David Striplinig / Fort Worth, Texas

...the kettlebell.

I admit I was skeptical that so much could be accomplished with something so simple. The claims just seemed too good to be true. Westerners tend to overcomplicate things and it's easy for us to dismiss the kettlebell because it's just too simple. It's a cannon ball with a handle, for Pete's sake. But past years of martial arts training also told me that there are reasons for traditions and, so, I decided to give it a try. A buddy and I have just begun working out, I mean "practiciing", with it and our bodies have already begun sending clear messages that it's working. We're both feeling that good muscle tenderness that comes from a good training session and signals coming growth. We've also noticed that, true to the claims, the effect is in muscle groups, not just isolated muscles. We both have remarked how surprised we are that the thing could have that much impact in such a short time with techniques that are so deceptively simple. We look forward to each practice session and to applying the more complex techniques described in Pavel's book in future sessions. I am also very pleased with DragonDoor and the great customer service that came with my purchase. I will be a long-time customer. So, if you are looking for a simple way to improve your physical conditioning, and you want to deal with a reputable outfit, get this kit and get it from DragonDoor. It'll be money well spent.

10/10 Refreshingly new and challenging

By Tristan Phillips / Holbrook, NY USA

I've had my kettlebell for about a month now and am loving it. It's refreshingly different from lifting weights. There is nothing mindless about the kettlebell. You must focus on your technique at all times, and your technique will get better and better by the week. I can already see how this will dramatically increase my strength without adding too much bulk. I highly suggest this to anyone who is bored with the same old gym, and the same old equipment. Two thumbs up.

10/10 Pavel at his best

By Richard Johnson / Vienna, Virginia

I already owned the Russian Kettlebell Challenge, which is excellent, but I'm glad I picked up the new Enter the Kettlebell. It's an important update of the earlier product.

In ETK, Pavel doesn't overload you with hundreds of exercises. Instead, you get his judgement and selectivity, helping you to sort out just what's best. And he isn't afraid to credit major contributions made by others to his training program. But it's his innovation and judgment that separates him from the crowd.

Importantly, he recognizes how 'tight' Americans tend to be (any martial arts school will tell you the same thing) and has some specific approaches suited to 'fix' it. Again, it's his judgement and selectivity that are important here. You don't need hundreds of exercises, you couldn't do them all anyway. But you do need to know how to start, and what is best, and when. And Pavel's humor is dry and fun.

Everything I've tried from Pavel has worked. In fact, I credit his stretching and strength training approaches for helping me prepare for and pass my Black Belt test in Tae Kwon Do at age 51. I'm no Bruce Lee, but without his training techniques, it just wouldn't have happened.

In fact, I've recently made kettlebells my principle training tool. Yes, I still kick and punch, but in my 50's I find the kettlebell to be ideal for both general fitness and for martial application.

There's a lot more to the bells then just doing the exercises. In fact, I still feel there is a lot of value in Pavel's older Russian Kettlebell Challenge as well, and you would do well to have both, if you can find it.

The kettlebell supplied by Dragondoor was the best quality I've found. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one from Dragondoor (and I didn't -- I purchased the combo package to double my dragon door 35 lb bells). So I own two kettlebells from Dragondoor, and one from a lesser priced vendor. All the bells I own work, but the Dragondoor bells are clearly the better product.

I'm not a fancy trainer, nor a world class athlete. I don't get paid to do endorsements. I'm just an older guy trying to stay healthy and fit. There is a reason why kettlebells are becoming so popular. It doesn't have to do with personalities. It's because they work.

Good luck in your training!

10/10 Very satisfied

By Kevin Mahecha / Davie, FL USA

This product is amazing, the book and dvd help show the basics of how to use a kettlebell. These basic exercises are amazing, i added kettlebell training to my routine and i went from doing a max rep of 23-25 dips to 41 dips and still raising! I'm a kickboxer, and my next match is in a month and a half, i know that the kettlebells will increase my performance in the ring. I can't wait to learn more in depth of other kettlebell exercises, the possibilities seem endless. Thanks much Pavel!

10/10 Highly recommend the kit, this is the best way to start.

By Gary N. Kitchen / Spanish Fork, Utah USA

This kit is awesome and fun. Between January and May 2007 I lost 40 pounds so the 35 pound kettlebell has unique and significant meaning to me. Every time I pick up the kettlebell I realize that I used to pack that much extra weight 24/7. I discovered the kit after losing the weight but the kettlebell is a significant partner in maintaining my new weight.

Are you looking for a way to start your day full of energy? Try the pump stretch, the halo, the face the wall sumo squat and five presses from the floor before you have your morning shower. Once you get confident in the two hand swing add it to your morning routine and do it all in your bathroom. It takes 10 minutes and gets you charged and full of energy for the day. Throw away the coffee and make the kettlebell your wake up buddy. As Pavel says, "It's tonic."

The book and DVD are packed with knowledge and helpful ideas and the kettlebell is a wonderful partner in small places to keep you full of energy while building strength, a strong heart and lungs. The book and DVD work together to clarify the principles and practices of the Russian Kettlebell Challenge. Dragon Door has created a great product and great value. I am an enthusiastic promoter of this kit!

10/10 Changed my life

By Gene Kirk / Albany, GA

I was going to the gym six days a week with the same old results. I started with my kettlebell and in two weeks time I felt a real change. I wasn't just looking strong... I felt strong. Every workout I have i'm becoming a better man.

9/10 Not cheap but worth every penny!

By Glenn West / Rochester, NY

It's a little pricey for a hunk of cast scrap iron and a small handfull (essentially, two) of exercises but. . .

It is worth it! Pavel is clear and to the point. The exercises are wonderful for full-body dynamic strength. Pavel emphasises safety without compromosing the intensity of the workout - and the kettlebell feels like 100 lbs. rather than the mere 35 that it purports to be. I can't wait to move up to 44 lbs. It beats static weight lifting by a mile in developing core strength (and I can stick it in the trunk of my car).

10/10 Excellent package.

By Pete Pickering / Massapequa, NY USA

I found this to be excellent. I would advise anyone to get the whole kit as opposed to just the book and the kettlebell, as the video is really needed to understand the moves, while the book fills in any gaps the video leaves.

10/10 If you have 1 piece of equipment for your home gym, this should be it

By Jack Lobezno / Spokane, WA USA

The KB is perfect for getting strong. Pavel's video is very informative - just ignore the "comrade" macho crap and pay attention to his form & suggestions for working out with the KB. Guys with some strength already will want to follow his advice for ordering the 35lb KB and the size up since the 35 pounder gets pretty easy to swing in a short span. Still the 35 pounder is essential for starting the Get Ups and other exercises. Good stuff, the KB. I'm ordering more soon.

9/10 Kettlebells Rule!

By Jerry Young / Troy, NY USA

I purchased the Men's 35lb Kettlebell Quick-Start kit after reading great reviews on forums. I began doing the practice routine and have worked up to the workouts. Wow! What a work out they provide. I have had some knee issues that stopped me from running. I needed a new total body/Cardio workout and the Kettlebell hit the spot! I thought I was in good shape, but the Kettlebell has humbled me. The only thing I would change or request is better workout charts in the book. Thanks for a great product.

10/10 Very good for general fitness

By Mike N / Portland, Oregon

I had been searching for an exercise program that strenghthened my core and increased endurance, but did not require a huge time commitment. This is it. After only one month, my aerobic endurance has dramatically increased, and my abs. and back are stronger. This kit is a great introduction to the using kettlebells-nice to refer back to video or book to reinforce proper form, etc. I'm 39 y/o and feel great.

8/10 My two bells

By Mr. Sieg / Ansbach, Germany

I got the DVD/35lb kit along with a 18lb'er for the wife to start off with. The DVD and book give you good information for all things kettle, but what I would like to see is a work out program for a beginner. Say something like a 4 weeks getting started training out line. As it is now a beginner has to just jump right in with just the exercise demos. On a up note it gets the heart going and after 2 weeks the wife and I feel higher energy levels and our core strength improving. Its just about a whole gym in the palm of your hand.

10/10 The kettlebell is Mother Russia's way of disciplining her children...and it works!!

By A. P. Altieri / Long Island, NY USA

After tearing my pec in September of '06, I was slowly rehabbing myself back into training. I had lost a lot of muscle and put on some fat and was looking for anything to kickstart my progress. Well, I found it in the kettlebell. Normally I would have ordered the heaviest one...only the biggest and the best for this capitalist, but with the pec injury I opted to go for the "average man" size 35lb. Boy, am I glad I did! This 35lb kettlebell has been kicking my 210lb butt! It's well worth it though. I have been packing the muscle back on, and I am leaner and more defined than I have ever been. Thanks Pavel...have a shot of Stoli on me!!

9/10 Outstanding...

By RW / Somewhere AFB, FL

Many years ago I studied the Soviet (Russian) Military as a potential opponent on the other side of a war in central Europe. I did my homework and quickly learned to respect my 'enemy', the Russian People are tough as nails. Their military equipment is known to be just as tough as the people who make it and the kettlebell is no exception. As simple as it is tough, used correctly, the kettlebell WORKS.

10/10 Pavel-The Personal Trainers at My Gym are asking ME for advice

By Dean / Redwood City, CA USA

I have lifted weights all my life, done triathlons, taught Gracie jiujitsu and Muay Thai, and climbed in the Himilayas and Andes. I have tried every exercise program known to man. The kettlebell produced rapid gains in strength, improved posture and greater endurance. The changes have been so dramatic that the personal trainers at my gym are asking me what I'm using. They have ordered their own kettlebells, and asked the manager to get a complete set for the gym.

9/10 Love the Kettlebell, love the book, the DVD was lacking.

By Adam Dorman / Pemberton, NJ USA

The Kettlebell is a great piece of equipment, the book is very usefull, I just wish the DVD showed an actual workout in addition to exercise technique

10/10 Tightening Up....

By Alec B. / Chico, CA USA

I am a very busy ex-martial artist new Dad. In the past 2 years, I went from traing 3 nights a week at my dojo, to breaking my ankle (1 year recovery), becoming a father and landing a new, more sedentary job. The combination of being crippled for a year, becoming a new father, and not having any time to train, has created 15 pounds of flab around my core. I have been using the Kettle Bell for only 2 weeks, with short 20 min - 30 min workouts in my living room, and I can already feel my body tighten and my pants becoming loose.

It is obvious to me that the Kettle Bell yeilds real strength, not girly gym strength! After swinging the thing for 10 minutes I want to puke out my domestic American weakness!! I highly recommend Pavel's crude device for quickly snapping you back into shape.

10/10 Warning: This Product is Life Changing

By Andrew H. / Danville, PA

While 2007 is still young I can safely say that ordering the Russian Kettlebell Quick-Start Kit has been the best decision I have made all year. I have tried several methods of improving my fitness over the years. Most leave me fatigued, injured or uninspired. The program laid out in the Enter the Kettlebell book and demonstrated in the DVD has been tremendous. I have seen fitness gains at a rate I have never seen before. I am working muscles, that I had previously ignored, in a manner that is giving them real world strength. I have more energy throughout the day and am seeing positive change in by body composition. Because the the workouts are brief (but intense) I always have time to complete them. This kit has replaced my need for a gym, and saved me a lot of money in doing so. Thank you Pavel for making this kit available. I wholeheartedly recommend this product to anybody who is ready to start changing their life.

10/10 Kettlebell Package and Service Excellent

By Jeff / Portland, Oregon USA

I am just ramping up the Enter The Kettlebell workout based on Pavel's DVD and book and can already feel results. I am excited to see where this workout will take me. It is a really dynamic exercise that rewards smooth and controlled actions. The DVD is very informative and seeing the movements is much better than just the book. It allows you to get it right much faster.

10/10 As Advertised and Better

By Patrick Edwards / Memphis, TN

I've been involved in sports since I was in early elementary. Through JR High and High School I played football and was lucky to have some good trainers. Separately, I also had the great fortune of being trained by one of the best powerlifting coaches in the world and competing/winning in national events. During college I stayed in the gym. After college I took up MMA along with the strength and conditioning for it. A month ago I ordered a kettle bell, book and DVD. It has delivered on every front. I can already tell a difference in my functional strength and muscle density. What's even better, I've cut out running and am getting better cardio from my kettle bell all while saving my knees. To say that I am thoroughly impressed is an understatement. It has even helped with some problem areas that the last 13 years of training did not. Pavel, I cannot say thank you enough.

10/10 This package gets results!

By Trent / Phoenix, AZ

I would recommend this kit to anyone wanting to get started with the kettlebell way of training. You get an in depth look at the basic moves and thought processes behind each. You are then guided through an extensive program from the ground up. As a health professional and trainer I appreciate the progression of the exercises and the focus on the entire body moving together. The book and the DVD make a nice connection between learning forms allowing the individual to read through the information and then reinforce it visually and auditorily. Pavel's no nonsense approach is clear and concise. I look forward to using the kettlebell the rest of my life to keep myself and my clients in top physical condition.

10/10 Shoulder and Core Power

By S. Jones / Sellersburg, IN

I can't believe the wokout that I get from kettlebells. The book is full of good information and the dvd helps me with my technique. My shoulders and lower back are pain free and feel stronger than ever. Thank you Pavel for an amazing workout tool. Thank you Dave RKC for introducing me to kettlebell pain.

9/10 My first KB was lonely!

By Jim Borona / Fairfield, CT

I had wanted to get a second KB for some time so as to double my efforts in the same time frame and to do other drills where two KB's are necessary.

I love the KB and what it does for me athletically, in helping my carpal tunnel syndrome, and for not hurting my "tennis" elbows with their use.

I will soon order a 1.5 pood RR KB.

10/10 Everything you need to get in great shape

By Eric / Michigan, USA

The book and DVD (and you really do need both to figure out what is going on) do a great job demonstrating how to do the various exercises with the proper form. I was in decent shape before starting, and I found the 35 pound kettlebell to be a good starter weight. The workout is brutal, but surprisingly easy on my joints and back. I find that using the kettlebell is something that I look forward to, not at all a chore. In the 3-4 weeks I have been using it, the results have been dramatic. I have regained the body I hadn't seen since I was in college, I'm stronger, and I feel great. Highly recommended.

10/10 Big Surprise in little Package

By Ira Thomas / Albany,NY

Comrad, when I received my Kettlebell I was shocked by how heavy the weight of only 35 pounds felt to me. I was rudely introduced to the world of kettlebell training. The dvd and book are great and really help out a lot. I am a football player and am fairly strong but the 35 lb kettlebell is my match right now. Thanks for making such a great product. Watch out America we are in for a rude awakening.

10/10 WOW!

By Esteban Camacho / Miami, FL USA

SPEECHLESS!

Such simplicity...

The first time I used my KB I felt that my body was being bombarded with, power, force, strenght, stability, balance, flexibity, endurance, cardio, and resistance! Not the first day, not the first hour, the FIRST EXCECISE. Once I flex it once, I knew what I got myself involve in... PURE BRUTE GROWTH!

Thanks Pavel thanks DragonDoors and everyone else that makes it HAPPEN

LONG LIVE GIREVIKS! (which has to be true, we are better FIT!)

10/10 BREAKING OUT OF A RUT

By Kurt Andersen / Denver, Colorado

I'm a cyclist and a runner. Ok, I swim too... I was looking for a different strength training method after reading "Explosive Running" by Micheal Yessis,Ph.D. Michael outlines a lot of functional strengthening excercises using whole body movements, rather than isolated lifts. I'd heard of Kettlebell training and decided to check it out. I ordered the 1 pood kit. The weight is right for my strength level at this time. The book and DVD has been very helpful getting me started, as have the articles in Dragon Door and other web sites devoted to kettlebell training. My core strength feels much stronger after just a month of training. I'm excited to see how much my performance is improved after several months when the season is in high gear.

10/10 extremely detailed instruction

By rich / pennsylvania

etk answered allot of technique questions i had .35 lbs. doesn't seem like allot of wieght but i was gassed pretty early in my first workout .deceptively painfull !

10/10 Increased motivation

By Hollis / Texas USA

I have found that I lacked motivation in my fitness programs. Now, I think that my lack of motivation was due to my lack of understanding in how to correctly move my joints and muscles to prevent injury. The book and DVD explain the correct way to move and the correct way to think about what I am doing when I exercise. My muscles get the burn, but my joints and shoulders do not ache with the Kettlebell exercises as explained by Mr. Tsatsouline. It is really interesting that a 35lb kettlebell feels heavier when in motion. Mr. Tsatsouline is good at motivating my middle-aged body off of the couch and to the kettlebell.

10/10 The Kettlebell and Systema

By Steve Gordon / Woodridge, NJ

I learned about the Kettlebell through Systema class taught at Fighthouse in New York City (fighthouse.com). For those who don't know what Systema is, it is a Martial Art formed taught to the Spetsnaz, the Russian Special Forces. We use the Kettlebell sometimes during warm up. I decided to get the kit because it seemed to be an excellent strength training regime. Once I started to use the Kettlebell, as instructed in the kit, I realized you are doing cardio, stretching and strength training all at the same time. Anyone that is a serious Martial Artist or athlete in general knows how important all three of the aspects of training are. In today's busy world it is often hard to find the time to fit all these aspects into a good training regime on a daily basis. Using the Kettlebell is an excellent way to get all these aspects into a short training session. In addition all the exercises, body movements and hand positions used during the exercises are designed with the Martial Artists in mind. The idea of keeping the wrist straight during all movements lends itself extremely well to throwing an effective punch that protects your wrist from damage. The idea of keeping a solid mid section through many of the movements also lends itself well to being an efficient fighter. Having a solid core is where all experienced Martial Artists know the movements come from. In Systema every movement begins in the hips, which is where the most power in the body is derived from, that is why it is called the core. I would recommend the Kettlebell to any athlete or Martial Artist, novice, expert or master who is looking for an effective, hardcore training method that requires only one piece of equipment, to take their training to a level they did not know they could reach.

10/10 Pure, Raw, Revolutionary!

By Kevin Nicholson / Lebanon, MO USA

Friday morning 11:30AM *knock knock* Who could it be? It's the delivery guy.

Delivery Guy: "What the heck IS this?! It's HEAVY!"
Me: "Looks like my new kettlebell" *grins*
Delivery Guy: "What's that supposed to mean...well have fun..."

After noticing some familliar words on side of the box "ENJOY THE PAIN" I tore into it like a kid on Christmas morning as soon as I plopped it down on the living room floor (THUD). Popped in the DVD and watched as Pavel made it look all too easy. So after several careful viewings I decided to get down to business. 5 minutes into the drills I felt like pudding again for the first time in years (and I consider myself to be in pretty good shape already). Oh, the pain... the wonderful pain!

Few weeks pass and I order kettlebells yet again. This time around a set of two 44 pounders -- now my delivery guy really hates me!

Thanks again Pavel!

10/10 I never knew such a short workout could be so painfull & rewarding.

By Rick C / New Jersey

Great combination of items. I am just in the beginner stages of the program, but I can tell you that a kettlebell makes you work your a** off. I have lifted weights over the years, but the kettlebell has added new dimensions to my workout. I will be ordering a 53lb kettlebell soon!

10/10 Great addition to my workouts

By D / San Diego

The addition of kettlebell training to my workout routine has increased my work capacity many times over. The execises in the book and dvd(RKC, not ETKB)are explained very thoroughly. I have benefited immensely from it. Thank you Pavel and thanks Dragondoor for bringing this product to the public.

10/10 Iron Cannonball Better Than a Silver Bullet

By Hector Luis Mojica / Iowa City, Iowa

There is no silver bullet for a healthy exercise routine. I don't need one, I have an iron cannonball. The usual maladies--such as back-aches, soreness, weak knees, large gut, bad posture, and sex drive--of a 47 year-old man plagued me. My iron kettlebell has helped me with ALL these problems. This is my fountain of youth: I feel like a young man.

I purchased the 16 kg kettlebell along with Enter the Kettlebell DVD and book. (The book and DVD complement each other well. I strongly suggest a new user purchase the DVD and the book). Read the book completely to understand the overall program, then reread for the fine points. If you are a beginner, purchase this kit now, follow Pavel's instructions, and you will be satisfied.

Here is a quick anecdote. Before I received my kettlebell, I borrowed a 16 kg KB, so I knew the benefits. When mine arrived in the mail, I opened the box, and felt emotional to welcome an iron cannonball home! I named him "Ivan" and I love him.

9/10 You know you have entered a different plain for strength conditioning after your first workout!

By George Valdes / Middletown, NJ (USA)

I really like this product. I wish the kettlebells were a bit more affordable as I would like to get a matching set for some of those exercises that call for two kettlebells but I guess it is what it is.
Definitely a different approach to conditioning... I'm surprised more people are not doing this.
Let me know if you have any specials on your products... I think I'm ready to quit the gym and make this my full time work out.

5/10 tiberiusjones

By Tim Jerome / Knoxville TN

I think that the kettlebell itself is good quality, the book and video have some good information but really overpriced for what you get. I think next time i would just buy the weight and maybe the video but skip the book, the information is repetive and alot of hype and advertising for the other books...which i find very annoying.

10/10 Great way to start

By DD / Fort McMurray, AB, Canada

This this an excellent kit for the beginner. The book and DVD show you how to get a great safe work out. Shipping is a bit expensive to Canada but it arrived very fast.

10/10 You may scoff at the "cannonball with a handle" but I dare you to take the challenge.

By Preston / Volusia County, FL

I'm not one of those guys who likes to spend a lot of time in the gym, watching myself in the mirrors as I work out. Au conraire, I'm always looking for ways to abbreviate my work-outs by combining strength training and cardio.
Kettle bell really does it for me! I've just started but this has got to be the most aggressive full body work-out I've ever had. This is the best I've felt physically in a long time, and I just turned fifty. At my age I'm not trying to look good in a Speedo, I just want to get up a flight of stairs without having to take a nap on the landing. Pavel is pushing me to do more, to not just settle for that only that. Four days a week I do the RKC Minimum Program (I'm also trying to "tame the arc"), supplementing it with three days of spinning and 20-30 minutes of yoga in the early morning. I've also started to practice the exercises from the RKC Rite of Passage. If you can find an RKC instructor/class near you, go! But in lieu of formal instructors/classes, as is my case in rural Florida, Pavel's instructional material (the DVD and the book) is excellent! Extremely well laid out, simple and direct, and there are plenty of resources online as well.

8/10 OUTSTANDING INSTRUCTION!

By David Cohn / Tucson, Arizona

I found that the DVD and the book were outstanding in nearly every aspect. I do wish the book would do a better job of outlining workouts with more specifics, ie some samples of a 3,4, or 5 day program with specific lifts, repititions, and sets. My only other complaint is that I was told by the experts that I should start with the 35lb bell, and that was wrong because it is too light. I have been trying to exchange it, but when I email "support" I do not recieve any response. I truly think this training can help me, and I have shown many others, to include personal trainers, how good the system is, and they are going to order the start up kit, but I am personally disappointed that I can not get help on turning in my 35 lber and getting a 53 lb. kettlebell.

10/10 The right way to start with Kettlebells

By Steve Swigart / Pittsburgh, PA USA

I'm a Personal Trainer and was skeptical about the value of Ketttlebell training. Now I use them myself and with all my clients. It is clear to me, however that anyone starting with kettlebells should receive proper instruction to minimize injury and maximize results. Pavel with his "Enter the Kettlebell" book, DVD and bonus videos were instrumental in providing this instruction.

The workouts are intense and demanding. The different routines challenge all groups of joints and muscles simultaneously so that you get both strength and cardio (Aerobic and Anerobic). In addition, the Lower body, Upper body, Core, Wrist, Forearms and Grip are all worked at the same time.

It's the closest thing to replacing an entire gym full of equipment with one or two kettlebells. Plus it's great to work with kettlebells outdoors, no matter where you might be.

10/10 A manly, desissifying workout

By Michael Jeffcoat / Starkville, MS USA

As a retired Marine (infantry and artillery), a long time weightlifter and fitness enthusiast, I have stumbled upon the "Holy Grail" of fitness and strength tools...the KETTLE BELL!!!! I have been humbled and stand in awe of its simplicity and effectiveness. I wish I had discovered it long ago. I am selling all of my weights so I can collect a family of bells.

10/10 Fantastic training tool

By Dan / New York, NY

I'm very glad I purchased the video and two kettlebells (35lb and 53lb). The DVD is very informative and very clear and simple to follow. Pavel is one funny dude too. The kettlebells are great; you can take them almost anywhere and get a workout in. These things are great for a lot people out there who want to do away with monthly gym membership costs and get their own "home gym". I feel great after doing kettlebell swings, and I think the presses are making my shoulders more manly.

10/10 awesome product

Pavel video is great. The book is a awesome companion to the video. I love my kettlebell and it's a crazy hardcore workout which definetly not boring. Especially when you are swinging a iron ball around your head....

10/10 One stop entry into kettlebells

By Mark / Connecticut, USA

The quintessential workout tool with all the support you can ask for without a personal trainer. The kettlebell is the one to have. ( it's hard to describe a "cannonball with a handle" that looks like it wants to be lifted) The book is a great reference guide to read and reread at your convenience to fine tune your understanding of the exercises. The video is a great visual tool for seeing how the exercises should properly be executed.

The sum of the parts is greater than the parts individually.

5/10 Good KB but the extras???

By Clifford L Derdeyn / Austin, Texas

First of all I love the Dragondoor products and feel Mr. Tatsouline is a breath of fresh air in a world of lifting which has become dominated by "unnamed others"." With that being said I am not a new-comer to the iron game and have actively been a bodybuilder, former U.S. military, and long term martial artist for the better part of two decades. I feel the Kettlebell workouts are an amazing supplemental and that old strongman workouts are functionally better than most anything else out there. My grandfather was a good example of that "old-world" tensile strength.

Now to the meat. The physical kettlebell itself is very good. The DVD is near garbage and the book has far too many ads as do most Dragondoor products. Not all of the DVD's are like this but this one could have been left out. This is one reason I used to like Milo, it saved the advertising to the end. I feel that Mr. Tatsouline has a great deal of information and good insights on a forgotten process of building functional strength and I would like to see more information on things such as club-bells, restoring lost physical function in aging populations (wheel chair excercises, core techniques for osteoperosis suffers) more martial integrations like Systema or Aikijitsu arts. I would like to see more information on injury rehabilatation, perhaps even studies in how kettlebells might help cancer patients and rehabilitation of extreme event sufferers, Children, and more clarity on sharpening technique.

These are just observations but I think you would see an even greater following if some of these niches were more completely covered. I feel you have a strong product but I also feel that you might be starting to lose it to American Commercialism. I know we all need to pay the bills but I just do not want a good thing to go a bad direction.

10/10 PRESS THE GODDAMN "ORDER" BUTTON!!!

By Arseny Knyazev / Burlington, VT USA

I bought this kit a few weeks ago. I thought "Eh, easy start with a single pood." Boy was I mistaken. I'm addicted now, like heroin-junkie addicted...some times I take my KB with me to work. I'm typing this with my fingers and palms taped up because I couldn't stop myself and ripped my calluses (despite the many warnings in the book.) I roll out of bed in the morning and the first thing I grab is my KB. I'm stronger than I was, faster, more energetic. I feel awesome...invincible even. THis is a great product, I'm totally hooked and not gonna stop. If you're even considering acquiring a KB, get it...don't think just do it. You'll be happy.

PRESS THE GODDAMN "ORDER" BUTTON!!!

I love this kit!
It's the best value for beginners. Trust me, you want the book and the DVD. Pavel's instructions are excellent and he is an excellent teacher. He absolutely tells you everything, every detail about the excercises. I did buy the 26lb kettlebell as well to work up my strength. I will be buyimg more in the future!
This is the best conditioning/strength training tool ever!

10/10 Excellent start

By Chris / Ames, Iowa

With less than no idea what exactly to do when training with kettlebells, I found this to be very helpful in starting me out. Using this and only this, in only a few weeks, I have lost 7 pounds, and have started myself on the way to a much healthier lifestyle.

10/10 one word....amazing

By Greg Gurnett / College Place, WA USA

I bought the 35 lb starter kit three weeks ago. At first I thought I would do three sets of 15, I could barely do 3 sets of 8. I've done exactly 8 workouts, and already my torso is in the best shape its been in in years. Its hard to believe that 3, 15 to 18 min workouts a week can do this. You have to do this!

10/10 Perfect for Beginning Home Practice

By Jeff Abbott / Tucson, Arizona

I had worked with RKC Team Leader Dave Randolph and RKC Laura Spaulding in classes in Kentucky, so I had some background when I ordered this kit. Then moved to a new and more remote location outside of Tucson where attending classes is not longer feasible. I needed the tools to continue my practice at home. This kit gave me what I needed to begin to rebuild the foundation of my practice slowly, focusing on lighter weight with excellent form. I watched the DVD repeatedly before even starting as Pavel recommended, and really benefited from the time and focus Pavel places on correct form in these 5 key exercises. I refer back to it now every several weeks to get the picture of good form in my mind. I've been practicing regularly now for one month again, and I will be ready soon to get my next heavier kettlebells and advance to more complex routines. This kit was what I needed to get started again. Thanks!

10/10 Opps! Wrong Weight !!

By Toma B. Rosenzweig [the old one] / Sylmar, California United States

This DVD and book are great I love them
BUT Opps wrong weight, What is this monster thing that I cannot not even lift. Oh this is the Kettlebell. 'WOW' I'm 68 years old and have not done athing in 4 years. Grossly out of shape so I'm starting at the WAY bottom and working up to swings and get-ups. Both the DVD and the Book are used all most every day' and the really nice thing about them is there is good info on the excerces in both the DVD and the book. I love it and can highly receomond this to anyone. I did have to buy a lower weight to start with... But I will do the 35 lb yet This really helped me on my way. Thanks Dragon Door!! good stuff.

The material included with this kit is very detailed and easy to follow. The step-by-step instructions insure that every important element of a lift is mentioned. The important details for preparing to lift, such as stretches, are thoroughly covered. I believe that this basic kit will go a long way in launching anyone's beginning kettlebell lifting career. Good Job!!!

10/10 Better than advertised...

By Ed Baswell / Navarre, Florida

The kit arrived earlier than expected. The DVD and Book arrived a day or two prior to the kettlebell. The book is very informative, but the DVD really drives home the proper form for the exercises. I also enjoyed the making of the kettlebell excerpt.

I'm 6', 200 lbs, former military with years of running, body weight exercising and weightlifting experience. The 35 pounder was a good start, because I was doing new exercises. However, I can already tell I'll be ready to move up to a heavier kettlebell very soon.

10/10 an official gym in one piece

By Reginald / Washington, DC

When the kettlebell was recommended to me, I looked it up and immediately scoffed at the price. But the idea that I could have what was basically advertised as a gym in one piece couldn't be resisted. I wanted to jump to the 55 pound kettlebell, but my friend said start with the 35 pounder. Now, my bench maxed out at around 310 a couple of years ago. But I havent worked out regularly in a couple of years, yet can still get 255 up off me a couple of times. So I thought 35 pounds would be light, but I got it anyway. I was surprised and impressed. The 35 pounder is great to start with, because of the intensity of the workout. With the kettlebell, you will learn that something that seems as simple as a swing or a get up, will work your muscles in ways that only three or four exercises in a gym did. The book explains things in the simplest detail and the workout I get is beyond simple description. I really do get with one kettlebell, what I got before with a bevy of free weights. I can throw this in my trunk, and whenever the spirit moves me get to work. It's convenient and seems to build a more even tone than what most folks get with wieghts. I highly recommend it, but beware, this is not for the faint of heart.

10/10 Simple, quick, effective

By A. Masek / Columbus, OH USA

My brother-in-law (retired SF) introduced me to the KB. As a busy professional with a family, there's not alot of time to hang out in the gym. Two weeks into the program, I have added 2" to my shoulders and 1 1/2" to my chest. Quick and easy with identifiable results. I've been talking it up to my friends. Thanks for bringing the KB to the U.S. Pavel.

10/10 This really works!

If you buy just one excersise tool, look no further than the Kettlebell and Pavel's DVDs & Books!

6/10 Good idea

By Rustam / Austin, TX USA

The Kettlebell Quick-Start Kit was a brilliant idea, but should be more customizable. The 35-lb kettlebell that it comes with was too light for me, and I personally needed a 53 lb kettlebell for a workout. A lot of people getting into kettlebell training probably have a reasonable fitness base and may need heavier bells but still want the benefits of the kit.

10/10 Starter kit started me out right

By Kent / Salem, WV

Overall, I've been very impressed with this kit. Pavel's instructional style is great -- a good mix of humor and serious instruction. His drills and Program Minimum have me on the road to success.

10/10 very surprised

By anthony / maryland

excellent quality and craftmanship, like the exercises and suprised by the weight of the starter kettlebell being a strength athlete. It was a worth while investment and I will be adding more kettle bells in the very near future.
