Move With Intent by Thayne. Thayne is a very knowledgeable and amazing therapist and instructor. I'm a Firefighter/Paramedic by trade and played a little too hard when I was younger. In Sept I had my 5th and 6th knee surgery and was needing to get back into the weight training but the CF gyms that I visited weren't interested in helping or adjusting a workout to fit, they were just interested in their cookie cutter workouts and didn't care about your injuries just the bottom line (Money). Thayne took the time and patience to adjust my workouts and movements accordingly to prevent further injuries.
I'd like to thank Thayne for getting me back into the working out again..!! Bro you rock, keep up the hard work..!!

I was recently in Apollo Beach, FL visiting a friend and went to Move With Intent for a workout. Thayne and I had a personal training session on proper kettlebell form. I had been exposed to kettlebells through CrossFit and needless to say, my form was not up to code. He is very knowledgeable and helped me understand the "why" behind performing the movements a certain way and with proper form. I learned so much in one session. My only regret is that I live in Atlanta and can't be at MWI everyday to workout with Thayne and learn from him. One session re-motivated me to up my workout game! I give him 10+ stars! My colleague introduced me to movewithintent about 5 months ago and I have to admit, I have been a convert since my first class and presently in the best shape of my life.
I consider myself an active person. On average, I work out 5 times a day for an hour, but I did not realized I have been wasting so much time at the gym doing the wrong things and getting slow, little or no result.
I have learned so much from Thayne these past few months that I feel I can train others lol! ;-). It is one thing for an instructor to show you a routine, it is another for him to teach you the dynamics behind each routine, the posture, the breathing, the movement...etc.; these intricacies are essential elements to creating a master piece - the best result.
Thayne is knowledgeable, hardworking, creative, innovative and a fun instructor who has the interest of his students at heart. He listens to his students, knows his students' capabilities, and would push you to your fullest potential while making sure you are enjoying the class. He has pushed me to limits where I never knew I had in me. His members are the best, they are very encouraging and supportive; I guess this is a reflection of their instructor - Thayne.
I am the strongest I have ever been. I have lost inches and gain a whole lot of muscles which was my goal. I was not too concerned about my weight; however, I wanted to be healthy, toned and fit. I can say I am a living proof, and I can't wait to see more result as the months progresses.
I am one of those people that always read reviews, but never written one. I felt I had to give credit where it is due as well as share my accomplishment. I recommend people to pay MWI gym a visit and experience this feeling first handed. I assure you, you will never leave the gym without breaking a shit load of sweat and lastly, there is never a dull moment in this house! Bells up!!!

I have been working with Thayne Shatah for several months now. I was a kettle bell "virgin." Thayne is extremely knowledgeable and as he has been able to pinpoint deficiencies in my swing. With his corrections and encouragement I fell that I am slowly mastering kettle bell work. Of course much of the work we do in class goes well beyond just kettle bells.
Thanye is the BEST trainer I have ever worked with. About 4 years ago I gave up running all together because I couldn't take the pain in my knees along with the constant back pain from a herniated disc. No matter what exercise programs I tried, even working with a personal trainer, I couldn't get past the knee pain. After a few months with Thayne, I rarely experience knee pain anymore. I feel stronger everyday.
I am almost 50 years old and overweight, but once I began following Thaynes advice on nutrition and dedicated myself to at least 3 classes a week, I am seeing huge results! I'm losing inches, I can see muscle definition and feel better all around.
Thayne is encouraging, but doesn't let you slack off either! This is not a gym for someone who wants to go "zone out" on the treadmill for half an hour and be done. (There are no treadmills here!) This is a gym you go to because you truly want to be challenged, encouraged and pushed to do things you never thought you could do!

I came to Thayne after over 2 years of suffering from chronic pain and horrible headaches following an emergency surgery in my neck. A great team at the hospital had brought me as far as they could with physical therapy, biofeedback, etc.
Because of the nature of the surgery and the risks involved, I had become a person who couldn't pick up anything or engaged in many activities because it was too dangerous and basically, I was supposed to live as if I was 100 years old. I had become sedentary. That lack of activity was very depressing. I knew that I had to find a way out of that vicious circle.
That is when I found Thayne. The folks who wouldn't let me pick up things warned me about training with someone like Thayne. They tried to convince me that I would hurt myself. I went anyway. I thought that he "looked" like he knew what he was talking about!
Best decision I ever made. He took the time to gather information about my medical journey; we talked about what I could and couldn't do. Thayne is a neuromuscular therapist and there were days when he wouldn't let me work out; instead he would work on my neck and upper shoulders.
He is totally invested in my success. He is also very knowledgeable about nutrition and discussed that with me, as well as with others. After several months, my pain level is down and the frequency of horrible headaches has gone down as well. Not only did I not hurt myself, I feel totally invigorated. I FEEL ALIVE AGAIN.
My husband, who was initially a member of the "skeptics", now works out with Thayne and loves it as much as I do.
His pursuit of perfection is relentless and that is what I need as I can be pretty stubborn! I recommend him to anyone who wants to train with someone who actually cares about the results and who knows what he is doing.

Thayne Shatah is the best trainer I have ever met. There are no worksheet workouts. If you've worked with many "personal trainers" you know what I'm talking about. With Thayne it's not about a prescription workout. It is about you and what you need to do to meet your goals. He understands your limitations and helps you break through them one after another.
I started coming to Move With Intent with my wife just a few short months ago. The results have been incredible. We are both stronger, fitter, and healthier than we have been in decades. Let's be honest here......I am closer to 60 than to 50, overweight, a recent ex-smoker, a bad back and the attention span of a gnat. Not a great combo for sticking to a fitness program. I tried them all (yoga, Zumba, weights, videos, apps.......you get the picture), the boredom and slow results won every time.....I just stopped doing them.
Then I met Thayne and it's been life changing, to say the least! He knows his stuff, REALLY knows his stuff. He is all about building a a strong core. I'm not talking a kind-of strong core, I'm talking a true, functionally fit, strong core. I worried about my back, but not only did I not injure it or even come close, in any of our work outs, my back is now the strongest it has ever been and I don't even consider it an issue anymore!......did I say "life changing"??!!! That is just the beginning, because I am never bored, I have stuck with the program and been challenged every time. Most important, I have seen results, big time results and I feel strong again!
So, how does this play into real life? How does "functional" fitness make a difference? Well, I have an unusual job, one that I love and don't want to ever stop. A few months ago, I thought I wouldn't be able to do it anymore. I am a disaster responder for animals. We do disaster work and large scale cruelty cases. Which means I may be handling anything from hamsters and birds to fighting dogs, goats, horses.....you name it. Recently, I had to pick up, carry and weigh 42 dogs, all them 50-70 lb, and all of them VERY wiggly, strong dogs. Just walking these dogs takes a very strong handler. One after the other, I leashed them, picked them up, weighed them and put them back in their runs. Three months ago, I wouldn't have tried it because it would have put me so much pain. But now, I blew through it like it was no big deal and I was totally fine in the end. No pain, no tightness, not even tired! I should mention the 20-somethings we were working with couldn't pick up the dogs? and were impressed that the "older lady" could do it with no problem! Did I say "Life changing"?
So, here is the bottom line.......Thayne knows his business, he genuinely cares about you and your results, he pushes you to become better, he practices what he preaches and if you give Thayne a chance, he will change your life! I know that for a fact.

Thayne combines an encyclopedic knowledge of multiple fitness disciplines, with a comprehensive scientific understanding of proper human movement, with an unmatched enthusiasm for fitness. The total of which added up to the most rewarding certification workshop I have experienced.
Thayne is direct in his approach to delivering his message, and his method of teaching is clear. There is no wasted time, and the results (education and/or performance based) are immediate. He encourages you to test your limits, while keeping you safe and grounded, yet encourages you to have confidence in your current abilities and skills….abilities and skills you probably did not know you already possessed!
Thayne has a unique ability to have fun within the structure of a fitness/education setting. There was clear, direct, and challenging work to be done, but there was also many laughs! It was at this time that his passion for fitness and movement was clearly evident.
What impressed me the most was Thayne's ability to listen and seek feedback while he teaches. This, for me, is the sign of a true leader!

Thayne teaches with such ease and professionalism and gains amazing results. Coming from a Martial Arts background and worked so hard for years to earn my black belts and instructor license, I have finally found another art form that truly challenges you on a daily basis and knowing that whatever you are doing you will be getting stronger every day. After approximately 3 months of working with Thayne in a group setting, I was finally able to take advantage of a 1 on 1 session. I was not disappointed!!! Never have I repeated the same workout routine once, yet he always stays true to the basics involved with the kettle bell training along with other exercise techniques in his arsenal . He has a nack for being in tune to what my body's capabilities are and challenges them to the max. I myself was in the fitness industry for almost 30 years and by far Thayne is in the top percentage of great instructors that I have come across. I am more than satisfied and plan to schedule more 1 on 1's!

I've been training with Thayne for 3 months now, and have lost about 10 lbs. I heard about this style of training through my wife's friend and had to go see for myself. I had previously been doing p90x and Insanity for the the last 2 years. I thought I was somewhat in shape but the day after my first session boy did I find out I was wrong. I can now run faster than I use to, I feel a lot stronger than I ever have. Thayne has his own way of making you hit that next level, even when you think you don't have nothing left you dig deeper to get that extra rep in which in the long run is what separates training on your own watching a video. Since we joined my wife and I are addicted. We don't miss any training days and are exited to see what the next day brings! From flipping tires, boxing , kettle bell training, box jumps, Olympic lifts, sled pulls, you name it, there is never a dull moment traing with this guy! Thayne brings the pain, but after every session the feeling of accomplishment is far greater than the pain!

I had the pleasure of having Thayne as one of my RKC team leads for my level 1 cert in Tallahassee. From start to finish Thayne was nothing but helpful, insightful and inspirational all of which I needed to complete the weekend. Over the course of the 3 days Thayne devulged some of his secreta that he acquired over his many years of KB training. Besides being such an inspiration his knowledge of the body was also incredible, he made one small tweak to my swing and the power output I was capable of after that was astronomical; it also helped my snatch test time drop another 10 seconds. Thayne is the complete package he looks the part, is extremely knowledgeable and most importantly he was highly motivating. I would reccomend his services to anyone who is dedicated and looking to get some results.

A little over five years ago I started training with Thayne. The first thing to know about Thayne is whether you are training in the gym, at the park, in a garage, or in his facility you will ALWAYS get a great workout!! Thayne is passionate about what he does and he will make sure that you are too!! Physically and mentally, Thayne has trained me to be a better athlete and always think like an athlete.
Thayne has taught me healthy habits to live by and I will follow the rest of my life. One is nutrition. When I first started training with Thayne, he made me write down EVERY thing that I consumed. Was this annoying? Extremely! BUT it was probably one of the best things I have ever done. He helped me tailor a diet that worked for me. To this day if I feel like I am slacking, I look back at these journals and go back to using these methods for my diet.
Another thing that Thayne has taught me is to start slow. Most people quit training because they don’t see immediate results. I used to think this, but all of Thayne’s “baby-steps” have linked together and made me unbelievably stronger and leaner!!
Thayne’s style of training is much different than most! Functional training is the way to go?!! I am a GIRLY-GIRL, but Thayne has taught me to get DIRTY (literally dirty- hands in the sand, dirt, etc!!!), SWEAT, & WORK FOR IT!! He has really made me love kettle bells and ALMOST all styles of functional fitness.
And MOST importantly, Thayne is an enjoyable person to be around. He always has a smile on his face (except when you are beating him in a workout?) and you can tell that he genuinely LOVES fitness and to train.

Thayne is a strength machine. At the RCK in Tallahassee, FL 2013 he was very helpful and knowledgeable. He gave me lots of custom tips for my body type that helped me get the most out of the experience. He conducts himself in a super professional manner but is also a nice guy. Some of the feats of strength he demonstrated including the performance on the rings was amazing. My pressing technique improved dramatically after just a few modifications from Thayne. If you get a chance to work with him I recommend it highly.

After two kids and very bad eating I had gained soo much weight that my self-esteem was at an all-time low. Not only was it starting to affect my job, but my relationships with the people I love. I needed this! I had gone to other trainers and joined numerous gyms, but it just didn’t work. I found that when I went to the gym, I didn’t push myself, and if it hurt, I stayed away from it. With the other trainers, not only didn’t they push my limits, but I wasn’t their focus. They never bothered to explain, the exercise or what muscle it should be working. With Thayne it’s night and day difference. He’s focused on you. And you can’t cheat. If you get tired during the exercise and start relaxing that core, he knows and makes you fix it. You don’t realize what you’re capable of until you go through one of his drills. Everyday it’s something new. Not only does he know his exercises, he understands the science of the body and explains why a particular exercise might be best suited for you. He’s very personable. His knowledge of the kettle bell is very impressive and his exercises are different. He’s not the typical trainer. He’ll have you boxing one day; pushing a sled across a parking lot another day or doing swings another. I’ve flipped tires bigger and taller than me; I’ve lifted weights I never even dreamt of lifting. If you’re thinking about a personal trainer or joining a gym, I would strongly encourage you to give Thayne a call, you won’t regret it.

I was on an educational delay from the Army to pursue a law degree. After several years of neglecting my body, I was given orders to start Officer Basic in a month. This was of great concern since I could barely do 10 pushups and sit-up’s and was easily winded from running down the block; there was no way I would pass the Physical Fitness Test. Moreover, I was overweight.
I found Thayne from the Dragon Door website. However, his studio was 50 miles away. Despite the distance I began to train with him religiously. Within a month of training I saw great improvements in my weight, endurance, and physique. Needless to say, I am able to pass the Physicial Fitness Test with flying colors. If it were not for Thayne, I would not have been able to do this.
Thayne demonstrates an incredible knowledge of all areas of athletics and intricate workings of the human body. He constantly challenges you in unexpected ways forcing your body and mind to overcome any obstacle. He is certainly more than a mere trainer; he is one of the few that “walk the talk.” He is an inspirational leader and coach that will help you achieve what you want. I can not bestow enough encomiums upon him for his approach and training.
The only regret I have is that I will not be able to continue my training with him as I leave in the next few days. I am grateful for his help and while I doubt I will find another trainer as competent, I only hope I can find someone who shares Thayne’s approach.

Thayne Shatah is an incredible instructor. The minute you meet him, you can tell he is very passionate in what he does. He pushes you more and more throughout every workout to try harder and do better. He is very patient and encouraging which causes me to push myself more because I don't want to let him down. In the month I have been to HitKBFit I have gotten stronger and lost a couple inches off of my waist. My recovery time has improved and I no longer feel winded when climbing stairs. I have even began to feel more energized and become more confident about myself, which has always been a struggle for me growing up. I'm so glad I came here first in my decision to lose weight. I live 35 minutes away from the gym but it is so worth it!! Thayne is am amazing instructor, not only does he truly care about you and your well being but he pushes you in a way that motivates you instead of shutting you down. He has built confidence in me and he has given me the willingness to strive for more! I was very athletic when I was younger and well life and stress takes over. Thayne and Hit KB Fit has given me a chance to improve my body and restore my self esteem. I feel more energized and ready to go! Thayne is willing to work with you no matter how much wait you can't lift....that was one of my concerns....I have no upper body strength and was embarrassed that I could not lift very much. Some people do something to make a living and some do it due to their passion. Many trainers come a dime a dozen but I was truly blessed to have encountered Thayne Shattah. He truly has a supreme level of knowledge that allows the client to excel and surpass many programs that are floating around the globe. He truly has made many lives in our local area change. I on a personal level needed to trim down about 20lbs (I used to box in college so hard workouts were familiar to me)and with in 30 days lost 10lbs of fat and also did the workouts at about 70% only. He shocked my body and took it to unknown lands. So hopefully within month 2 i can lost 10 more pounds. If you really want to educate yourself and learn alot from working out and taking it to the next level then Thayne is your guy from diets, sleep and workouts!!!

I've always been active - I'm a cyclist, a runner, and a workout fanatic. I've done so many group workouts and bootcamps with various instructors who claimed to be the best trainers around. However, eventually those bootcamps and group workout sessions became too mundane and too "easy" for me. I didn't feel challenged anymore, until I found Shayne Shatah at HIT KB FIT. When I first walked in, I thought, "okay, this is just going to be another one of those classes..." but I discovered it was one of the best I've ever had. Since then, I've been looking forward to his training every day!! Every workout is a different workout and as challenging as the previous ones. And every workout seems to be the best!! What I like about Thayne is he never once said to anyone of us he's the best, he just demonstrates it through his talents, his abilities, and his skills as a trainer. I didn't think I could get anymore results from working out, but since I started with Thayne, I noticed a difference in my arms, abs, legs and back. Other than Thayne being the best instructor I've had, I enjoy the group of students that come to his class. Thayne has successfully managed such a friendly and enjoyable workout environment that leaves you desiring to come back for more. I've been winded, leaving puddles of sweat everywhere I go, and feeling like puking, but at the end of every session, I still look forward to tomorrow's workout.

After years of training for rugby, I had given up on the training, pain, and same old routine. Two kids later and 15 years of nothingness, I found Thayne. It was like a god send when he opened up the gym on my way home from work. Every day that I walk in through the doors, I know he will not only push me way past what I think I can do, but he pushes my body to extremes that no other training has done for me before. He inspires me and brings the best out in me 5 days a week! I wish I had found him and his ability to encourage through support years ago! Thank you Thayne.

when you start working out at hit kb fit just remember that the pain is only temporary.you will be pushed past your limit...your mental and physical tuffness will be tested on a regular basis and you will learn to love it and crave it.not for the weak hearted.i always look forward to thaynes crazy workouts.

Thayne is a fantastic instructor. I have worked with many instructors and I have done cross fit too. Thayne is by far the best instructor/trainer I have ever had. He pushes me every single time and for every workout he shows me what muscles are being worked and the proper way to do the workout, which helps a lot. His workouts are by far the best and hardest workouts that I have ever done. Every time I leave, I am always drenched and I know that I have completed the workout. It is extremely fun to work with him and have him show me everything!

When I first walked into the HIT KB FIT gym, I was looking for something different than just the normal, everday gym routine. I wanted something explosive and I also wanted something that challenged not only my physical strength, but my mental toughness as well. Boy did I find that!! The first day of class I explained to Thayne that I was wanting to rip some fat off my body but that I was a little concerened that the full body workouts would start eating into my muscle mass and make me skinny. He smiled, looked at me, and said, "do I look like a small guy?" Basically what he was saying was shut-up and lets get it. I have to say the next few weeks were awesome!! Tough, but Awesome!! I have never had anyone set up circuit training routines like Thayne was able to do. On top of that, I have never seen anyone use kettle bells for intense muscle building. I weighed in the day I started at 196lbs. The third week in, my girlfriend told me my arms, shoulders, and legs seemed to be growing while my waist was shrinking. Offcourse I thought it was just because I was shredding fat and looking bigger, not actually getting bigger. I just finished my third week and weighed in at 205lbs!!! I gained 9 1/2 lbs in three weeks and my waist was shrinking!! I am definitely hooked and can't wait to see the results after another 3 weeks. If you are someone who is looking for intense, fat shredding, muscle building training that will sculpt your body like an athletic machine, HIT KB FIT and Thayne Shatah is the way to get you there.

I feel fortunate to have found Thayne. Ive been around alot of trainers, owned my own gym, and have visited and trained with trainers throughout the US, on my business travels. I have paid personal trainers for one on one training .
What I really like about Thayne Style is that he is TEACHING us (clients) proper technique in a way that make it fun. Any trainer can just push you and motivate. The amount of knowledge Thayne has is what makes his training different. Adding kettle bell and core is what my regiment was missing. Participating with his clients and seeing the skill they posses motivates me to not want to miss a session.
Thayne mixes conditioning, with strength and also has boxing mma work outs which always keep things interesting exciting and new. Looking forward to bringing my fitness goals to new levels. Anyone from a teenager, athlete to someone like myself a 42 year old can benefit from training with Thayne.

I started with KB HIT about a month ago. I overheard some ladies talk about this place where they do all these cool workouts and they all said that they felt results. I was curious and came to the class. I have been hooked since. The workouts are NEVER the same and they keep it intreresting.You feel like a warrior princess when your there!! lol I have lost 10lbs not only that I am toned and have more energy! I highly recommend this gym!They are a very knowledgeable staff and Thane is very passionate about his craft! Only the strong survive in this class! I was introduced to Thayne a few months ago by a friend that had joined his Hit KB Fit gym. I first learned about kettlebells approximately 5 years ago. I read several books and viewed instructional videos. I always was unsure if my technique was correct so I gave it up.
Since I have been going to Thayne's classes he has reopened my eyes to the world of kettlebells as well as using lots of other gym equipment. Thayne has been very patient and encouraging. I am excited to learn as much as I can about the kettlebells from Thayne. He has completely improven my kettlebell swing technique. I look forward to learning new kettlebell exercises with Thayne's guidance.
I have belonged to many gyms and received personal training from several trainers. I have exercised my entire life. Thayne's workouts by far surpass any of my workouts in my past! He continually is added new challenges to each day of training. I traditionally get bored easily with workouts. I really enjoy the variety of his workouts and the different equipment we use. I definitely leave the gym feeling I have had a full body workout.

I have been going to a gym since about 1996. As with most people I did go through stints where I stopped lifting; reasons ranged from sheer boredom to shoulder/back/hip injuries. Form was always important to me, but injuries still happened. I have known Thayne for about 15 years and was interested in trying out his classes for the last year, and finally pulled the trigger. This decision was long overdue with frustration from lack of overall fitness as well as limited results from my normal 4-5 day gym routine. The classes are like nothing I have ever taken on before. Thayne focuses on total body fitness and strength through ever-changing routines and positive reinforcement. I have had noticeable improvements in fitness as well as strengthening former injury plagued areas. The simple fact is that I have been attending only a short time and am fully convinced it was the best decision I have ever made for my health.

I attended the RKC cert in April of 2011 and was a member of team Rippetoe, this is where I met Thayne Shatah. Thayne was an assistant on my team. I can't say enough good things about the guy. He help to make the whole weekend a success for me and just a great time. His enthusiasm and passion for kettlebells was infectious. He is an amazing motivator and works well with people. His knowledge of the kettlebells movements and his ability to transfer that into teaching the movements was top notch. Thayne Shatah is the real deal. Not only is he experience and very knowledgeable in Kettle-bell trainging the man is more than a talker - he practices what he preaches. Over the past 15 years I have tried and implemented every new style of high intensity style weight training or exercise I could find to refine my physique and improve my physical performance for competitive sports, bodybuilding, crossfit, and men's physique compititions. Some programs promise and countless "Personal Trainers" talk a good game but in my experince most trainers with the next big "fitness training breakthrough" could not endure 15 min of one of Thanyes standard HIT Kettle-bell workouts. I am in elite physical conditioning right now just 2 days before the 2011 Southeastern USA in Orlando FL where this year I will be competing in Mens Physique. I trained with Thayne on Monday to kick off my 3 depletion before the show and at my request he pushed me through one of the best full body "Warrior" workouts I have ever endured. It was about 45 minutes of pure High Intensity angry thunder that left my body trembeling and my lungs burning for a full 2 hrs after we got done! It was sick and Thayne really pushed me to my physical and mental limits with out trying to break me like some incompetent trainers seem to take joy in doing. I will also add this: Thayne is a good teacher and communicator. He is confident but not arrogant, he is brutally strong but not a meat head. I really like the way he encouraged and genuinely "Coached" me through the process of each training session. He made the workout about me and my improvement and not his ego. Kudos to Thayne of HIT KB FIT - he is the real deal.

Started taking k-bells this year at Powerhouse Gym in Tampa with Thayne. His passion for working you out and taking you through the correct form of every move is better than any other instructor for a weight oriented class I've taken. The intensity of class and timed movements keep you going every week. You will be sore in places you didn't even realize. Definitely take his class for a total body workout. You'll get hooked!

I have done the whole gym thing multiple times but I would just get bored with it after two weeks and I could not keep the motivation I needed to keep going back. I started working out with Thayne a month ago and I definitely found the motivation I was looking for. I can't tell you how thankful I am to have heard about Hit KB Fit and how grateful I am to have Thayne as my trainer. I was sooooo lost until I walked thru those doors and now just after one month I feel like I have found myself again, I feel 10 times better, I have more energy and I have my self-confidence back.
Thayne will definitely put you threw the ringer; your body will be sore from head to toe; you will feel like crying; and you will most likely throw up, but it is all worth it.
Thanye is an excellent trainer, a saint, and very attentive. He guides you and pushes you every step of the way. He will not let you give up. I recently visited Thayne's gym because I am completely bored with my daily typical gym routines. I've always lived an active life, and being the daughter of a tri-athlete, I've always enjoyed sports and fitness. I started running with my mom at 3 yrs old, so it was instilled in me at a very young age the importance of health.
At 34 yrs old, naturally, I felt like I was just going through the motions and I am so thankful I was introduced to Thayne/Hit KB Fit because they have rekindled the fire that has been slowly fading.
I think the reviews speak for themselves regarding the intensity of his workouts, but a great workout can be short lived if your trainer doesn't believe in you and inspire you to do better and to BE BETTER. Thayne is truly passionate and takes the time to help you understand not only the science behind things, but also how his regimen effects your overall well being. When I showed up for my RKC cert in April 2011, I wasn't sure what to expect as far as the RKC assistants were concerned. I knew my best would be expected of me, and I hoped that the team assistants would help me get there. When I met Thayne, I knew I stood a chance of passing the cert. He helped me dig deep every single day and to find strength and endurance I hadn't tapped since my cancer diagnosis 14 years ago. I knew he had my back and I knew he'd give me some tough love when it was needed. His knowledge of kettlebells is impressive, his strength and skills just plain amazing. Thayne definitely demands your best and he will give you his best in return.
I came into the cert with some shoulder and psoas issues. Thayne and his magic thumbs cleared up those issues and got me rolling again. Honestly, I'm not sure how I'd have made it through the weekend without him. Assistants are super busy at certs, yet Thayne took as much time as was necessary to make sure I was okay each day. Every single day - and throughout the day - Thayne asked me how I was doing. And then he'd growl and tell me to "Get nasty!!!" And I did!

I've wrestled since and I was 6 and I've boxed for a couple of years, and the work outs that Thayne has us do are more intense, and just as important fun as any that I've had to do in the years I've trained for the sports. When you step in the gym Thayne is all business. The level of kettle bell instruction and style of training Thayne brings is paramount to any training I have experienced in the past 20 years. I respect the level of passion and dedication he projects. High intensity training is an understatement. This is the most intense training I have experienced in all my years. After a few weeks of training with Thayne I have noticed a very consistent increase in stamina and strength. Thayne puts a lot of focus on correct form during exercises and pushes people to their limits. Thayne is very knowledgeable on a large variety of exercises that are designed to engage the entire body, and you can truly feel all your muscles being worked. I just got back from my third Hit KB Fit class with Thayne Shatah at Powerhouse Gym of Downtown Tampa. If you're considering giving him a try, DO IT! You won't be disappointed. As an Urbanathlete, regular runner, circuit trainer, and CrossFit frequent, I can without any second guessing admit that tonight's workout was not only killer but exciting, dynamic, and well-rounded. Compared to the quick show-up-and-pop-a-barbell-up-a-few-times "workout" that I've experienced before with other fitness ideologies, Thayne surpasses them by using adrenaline-pumping movements with precise attention to technique and form to deliver not only an awesome workout but a safe one as well. I can honestly say that tonight's class was one of the best workouts I've experienced with a trainer. If I could give it an 11, I would. GO HIT KB FIT!

I first went to a class by Thayne in support of a co-worker who had been going to lose weight. Though I rollerbladed regularly, I struggled to do a burpie, putting one leg back at a time. I was hooked right away. Since then I have graduate from barely being able to do a girl push-up to knocking out 30 push-ups on an Indo Board with ease and can do burpies like I breathe.
I enjoy going to the classes. He mixes up the tasks routinely which helps me to keep focused because I'm not stuck doing something I dislike too often (like lunges).

Thayne is my sister's trainer and I was in town visiting. She asked if I wanted to go with her so of course, I said yes. I had been working out for over 25 years in gyms and on my own until recently. WOW - was I surprised when we pulled into the lot. This is not your typical gym. More like SEAL or special forces training - but at a level where you won't injure yourself. I had let myself go...gained a lot of weight and was really out of shape. I started getting in shape the usual way. I signed up with a trainer. He was great, but it was the same old same old of lifting weights and a little cardio. I lost some weight and felt better. It was good, but I needed more. My first workout with Thayne made me realize my fitness level was no where near I thought it was or wanted it to be.
Thayne is very passionate, driven, and motivating. His workouts are the hardest I have ever done, but he is always telling you "you can do it", "don't quit now" "stay strong". He pays very close attention to form and shows you how to properly do the exercises to prevent injury.

The first day I met Thayne, it was for a quick tour of the Hit KB Fit facility. I was very impressed. I knew a lot about what I didn?t like about traditional gyms and other types of fitness centers that I had been a member of at various times in my life but I wasn?t entirely certain of what I was truly looking for. With Hit KB Fit, I found it. I was excited to attend my first training session, and let me tell you, Thayne did nothing but far surpass my expectations. I felt comfortable the absolute second I walked in the door. His friendly, intense and positive energy and outlook on training reverberates throughout the gym and within his clientele. Every single time I?m at the gym I am thrilled to be there and excited for the pain that awaits me. I have only been one of his victims for approximately a month and am already noticing changes in my body thanks to his nutrition plan and his high intensity training. He is the first trainer I have ever had that has not only been able to identify the fact that I am doing a movement incorrectly but also has the knowledge and ability to communicate to me why I am doing it incorrectly and what I can do to fix the issue. Amazing! Due to being a military veteran, I am used to (and also require) a certain standard/level of motivation. Thayne never fails me in that area either. The best analogy I can come up with to describe his training style is that it's a blended skill set similar to that of a drill sergeant and yoga instructor. He has achieved that blended style with finesse.

I have been working with Thayne for two weeks. I am a female who weighs over 400lbs. Although I am perfectly mobile and have no disabilities, it has always been a challenge to be motivated to exercise. In two weeks I have lost about 9 pounds, but more importantly several inches from my stomach and waist. I am still struggling with my horrible eating habits, but Thayne has encouraged me to keep going and make a slow LIFE change verses a quick alteration. Thayne has accommodated me by providing different exercises that I can do, despite my size. I have never been to a weight clinic, however, many who go do so because it gives you a quick result. However, as soon as you stop going the weight comes right back, plus some additional pounds. Doing an intense work out gives you quick, healthy results, which is done the natural way with similar results. I chose the title Zero to One Hundred because I feel that if someone can do this, any other exercise regimen will be easy. I would encourage anyone, of any size, and any shape to give him a try. He encourages you and makes you feel that anything is possible if you just try.

I'm always looking for different workouts and I had thought that I had seen it all, until Thayne and his kettle bell training. When my workout buddy Joe suggested it, I had to google it, I had never heard of it. But since, I've done 3 classes and learned so much from Thayne. He breaks down every movement. The hows and whys it improves your body. He also focuses on how NOT to hurt yourself, which being in my 30's, it happens more often when I push myself in the gym. He focuses on stretching, which is often neglected. I've always thought of myself as a strong girl, but the movements you do with the bells don't work your "pretty" muscles as Thayne would call them. No mirrors, no socializing, just "nasty" workouts from head to toe. Every week he has us doing something different, teaching us more about our bodies. I'm excited for week 4 and what Thayne will bring!! He is one of the most motivating teachers I've ever had. Can't wait for next week!

There is something to be said behind those famous words "no pain, no gain" and with just 3 weeks into this new concept of kettlebell class at the Powerhouse Gym I can truly already see excellent results. When it was first announced at our Gym that a kettlebell class would be starting, I was extremely curious and yet did not know what to expect and actually wondered how much of a work out can one really do with a kettlebell. I quickly learned how challenging it was. Thayne is a master of the kettlebell, he is a great teacher and it's just nice to learn the concept and proper form of working out with a kettlebell. He has an amazing strength and it's truly inspiring to see him do some of the various moves with the kettlebell. I am ready to bring my workouts to the next level. I was 75 and totally disabled when I came to Thayne. I had been suffering with Shingles Pain for 2 years. My balance was poor and I had trouble walking and standing for more than a few minutes. I had been completely inactive for 2 years. My doctor recommended CORE training . My daughter and 2 grandchildren were in Thayne's group class, so I contacted him and asked him to be my Personal Trainer. Thayne started me with massages and stretching exercises, gradually moving from more massages to more stretching and less massaging. After 20 sessions I felt I was ready to try strengthing exercises. We discussed this and Thayne agreed, so we began strength training for my arms and legs as I still had no endurance using them. Since the first week of January 2011 we have combined core training with strength training. I am definitly stronger. I walk better, stand straighter and am feeling better. I attribute this to Thayne's persistence with me and the new challenges he throws at me each session.

Before coming to Thayne's facility, I knew I had to do something
to prevent hurting myself on the job. I am a nurse who works in an
Intensive Care Unit, where most of the patients are immobile and
unable to assist in any of their care, even with simple turning.
Over time, I have developed back and shoulder problems which I do not
need to exacerbate further. Patients are known to be over 200# and
even up to 468#. Being "vertically challenged" at only 5ft tall
adds to the probability of injury.
Having been disappointed with other facilities, either in type
or location, I had not worked out in some time. But I could not
afford to be a "weakling" any longer. When I saw the sign on 41
I was hopeful that this was my answer.
I have not been disappointed in any way. Under Thayne's instruction
for only 3 months, my strength, endurance and flexibilty have
markedly improved along with the additional benefits of weight
and inches lost.
Thayne is a very precise, technical trainer who pushes you hard
but observes you very carefully. He truly wants you to succeed in
your goals. I never realized there were so many ways to do one
specific exercise; I have never had the same workout twice.
The combination of kettle bell, trx and boxing provide a wide
variety so I am never bored.
Thanks to Thayne, this nurse can continue to do her job with much less fear of hurting herself.

Time after time I have hit plateau in my workouts and it becomes very discouraging. I have trained with national body builders, coaches, etc. but was never satisfied. I wanted to increase flexibility, balance, coordination, endurance and strength. In addition I wanted a training regimen that would be useful to me. Thayne's kettle bell training does just that. I have only been training with Thayne for about a month now and have already notices great results. I have used muscles I never have and Thayne pushes me to the limits in every class. Thayne is very methodical in his instruction and ensures the use proper body mechanics while training with kettle bells. Warning: strong willed need not apply, only for real acheivers. I am a newbie to Kettlebells, but after this insane workout, you better believe that I will be back. I first meet Thayne in Minneapolis, MN at NE Kettlebells where I train. He reminded me then that I could train without a kettlebell in my grip all the time and to move my body in other directions.

I've never really liked working out, but when I started to work out with Thayne Shatah, I started to actually enjoy it! I began working out with Thayne 7 months ago. I am 5'2 and I'm not very big with the upper body strength. I must admit that at first when i heard the word "kettle bell" included in my workout I was not very sure how well that was going to workout. I have never really been good with weight's. I didn't think it was possible for me to do theses workouts but it is.Thayne's workouts are one of the most effective workouts you will ever experience. If its painful then you know you are doing it right. The good thing about he's workouts is that you never leave feeling unaccomplished. Kettle bells really are the way to go. I spent my entire life up until my early 20's as an extremely competitive athlete. I was in excellent physical condition, healthy and strong! I always assumed I was one of the "lucky ones" that would always have a great athletic figure and be healthy. When I was about 22 and started my career I stopped playing sports competitively...I pretty much stopped being active altogether for that matter. A year later I had my first child and 3 years later I had my second child. All the while I was completely neglecting my health through bad eating habits and no physical activity. All of a sudden I realized that 5 years or so had passed and I had let myself gain nearly 120 pounds. Even worse, I had completely lost touch with the competitive athlete-minded person that had been a part of me for so long and that took a huge toll on my confidence. I tried so many crash diets over the years, only to gain a little more weight after each failed attempt.
In May of 2010 it was like a mental light switch just turned on one day and I was ready to change my life. I was ready to look and feel good again. I wanted to make the committment for me and my family to be healthy and a good role model for my kids. I immediately started on a high protein/low carb eating plan and began working out on my own 6 days a week. Usually running (who am I kidding...barely jogging) about 1.5 miles a day and then doing low intensity weight work. The change was so drastic to the non-existent fitness routine of years past that I did have great success. I lost 55 lbs on my own in about 4 months. Then the inevitable happened...nothing!!! I stopped losing weight and was seeing little to no progress in pounds, tone, inches...Nothing!!! I was so discouraged b/c I had really been working hard and I still had a huge weight loss goal in front of me. I honestly felt completely defeated!
September 1st 2010 I am driving on my way home from work and I see a billboard for Hit KB Fit and have no idea what a kettlebell even is. I call to find out more and they invite me to come in and try it out. I went the same day! That first workout changed everything for me. In all of the years I spent as a competitive athlete I had never experienced a workout like this. Every single motion and action seems to physically challenge your entire body. The level of difficulty, regardless of the shape that you are starting out in, is very high BUT because Thayne's training uses so much of your body's own natural movements and resistance everyone can do it. That is the most encouraging part about Thayne and his gym overall...you can show up exactly the way you are, whatever condition that may be, and you WILL leave feeling like you accomplished something & feeling stronger! Thayne shows you strength that you don't think your body is capable of b/c he shows you how to use your body correctly to make yourself stronger. He also teaches you how to protect your body and muscles by breaking down each movement so you are working out effectively AND safely. Thayne is the real deal and if you need a change his place will change you!!! It's not a dating meat market and everyone doesn't wear make-up and have cute little coordinated gym outfits...it's a real place with real people who are all showing up to get real results.
I have lost another 20 pounds since starting at the gym 8 weeks ago but this 20 pounds looks more noticeable than the first 40 pounds I lost on my own b/c my body is getting stronger with every single workout. My strength and tone improvement has been phenomenal and my stamina has improved dramatically. I look forward to the workout and sometimes on the days in between I feel like my body is literally craving them. I have a lot of work to do still to get myself to the healthy goal that I am working towards but with the help of Thayne and his "House of Pain", this is the first time that I actually feel like I am going to make it there...I know I am going to make it there! I am physically stronger than I have been in years and in many ways I feel mentally stronger than I have ever been!
If you are reading this and trying to decide if you want to give Thayne and his unique approach a try...put the computer down, get up, and just come and do it. You WILL NOT regret it!!!

I started training with Thayne during a really stressful time in my life; I needed to find a way to relieve stress, boost my self confidence and generally just wanted to start putting myself first for a change.
I have struggled with my weight in the past and have been on every diet imaginable. Earlier this year I was able to shed 30 pounds through diet and regular exercise but just hit a plateau and the treadmill was boring me to tears. I tried to mix it up a bit but nothing seemed to help. I have been seeing Thayne twice a week for just a few weeks now and have already lost another 10 pounds and am on my way to reaching my goal weight. I feel stronger and more confident and I love that he pushes me harder than I would ever push myself. I never know what to expect from one day to the next and I just love that about his style of training.

I originally was hesitant to join Thayne's gym (HIT KB FIT). My wife and I passed by the billboard on US Highway 41 in Apollo Beach daily. I thought to myself "I can just do that stuff on my own!" I had been intermittently in shape throughout my 20's. Through my 30's, I always thought that I was in better shape than I was especially armed with the "I used to be able to" attitude.
We recognized the need to get in shape, as we were each busy with work and life. We were blessed with a baby in October 2009. Needless to say, life was hectic and we were treating our bodies horribly. Like most other normal humans, we kept plotting our self-directed goal of starting to work out sometime soon on our own with no avail.
In late April, I stopped by on the way from work, most likely after polishing off some sort of fast-food lunch and a snickers bar for an afternoon snack. Thayne was running the 5:00pm class with open instruction. The place was abuzz with "normal looking" people doing some pretty amazing things with kettlebells and a few other Medieval pieces of equipment. I signed up, went home to change, and returned at 6:00pm for the next class.
I immediately plugged into Thayne's consummate knowledge and charisma. I boasted about being "in-shape" in my past life. Within a few minutes, I was exerting an amazing amount of effort. I was too proud to stop after bloviating about my former exploits in college. In that one hour, I found humility coupled with exhilaration. I felt like I had just been told one of the secrets to life. I went home and threw out most of the junk food that we had in the house. I immediately started logging everything that went in my mouth (both food and drink) and researching the caloric content/amount of food for each serving.
Over the next two months, my goals transformed from loose weight to look good to perform. I think that I honed the understanding of this "life secret" with the evolution of my understanding of the training (it's not just working out!). I shed a significant amount of fat in the first two months and started really building lean muscle. You cannot help but to change your body composition with this style of training. I went from a supreme fat ass to lean and mean guy in two months! This was actually the lean and mean guy I thought I was in college. At the writing of this testimonial, it has been five months since my walking in the gym, puking my guts out, learning some humility, and finding one of life's "secrets."
Thayne sees his clients as "friends," so to speak which I find is the same business model I employ in my professional career. Like my practice, he's friends with his clients because he truly cares about people and does not focus on the benefits of the style of management. I honestly feel that he knows no other way to lead the gym. Our workouts have evolved into more than just group classes. We are co-plotting performance based kettlebell and pure strength goals. Most of these are outlandishly rigorous, which I dig. I look forward to the many next steps!

Yes, I grew a half inch, as my gut no longer torques my frame and spine downward (also lost a shoe size 14 to 13 - shopping is much, much easier these days)!
Workouts.
Thayne's system is a mixture of 4 basic elements: kettlebell training, high intensity interval training (HIT), bodyweight exercises (many with TRX), and exercises we affectionately termed "manmakers." The kettlebell training follows the RKC system. It seems we never put that bell down and the exercises are rigorous! The HIT intervals are interesting and are comprised of individual exercises that are looped in 2 or 3 sets of 8 to 10 exercises (typical intervals include pushups, pull ups, burpees, ball slams, sledge hammer blows, etc.). The bodyweight exercises follow many of the principles laid out in Pavel's The Naked Warrior and the TRX body weight suspension system. Lastly, the "manmaker" exercises are intense strongman-like exercises with an endurance component. Typical exercises include farmer's walk with one "Beast" 106 pound kettlebell in each hand, a modified wheel barrow push with 450+ lbs on it, and pulling a BIG chain around the yard with a few kettlebells clamped to it.
The level of instruction is superb with Thayne. The workouts are written on the board for the clients in the group classes. The goal is to get it all done in an hour. There is no walking around and chatting in this gym. If you have the breath to talk, you are not working hard enough. These workouts are fun. I especially like the listing of the exercises. It helps to focus on the exercises and not on figuring out what you should be doing. Thayne works through the (small) crowd ensuring that everyone is performing the exercises appropriately/with great technique.
Extraneous "Fringe Benefits."
I have to say that working out with Thayne has been one of the most profound things I have done in life. I have always bitten off more than I can chew. I like to do things extremely well. As discussed above, I feel that this system (for the lack of a better word) is one of the keys to success in life. My focus and esteem has increased (already had a higher level than most!). My business career has skyrocketed during the last five months and my relationship with my wife has significantly improved (once again, from very good to great).

I have no buyer remorse , Thayne is a great trainer every session is new and different. I am sore 7 days a week so every week i feel like i am moving forward to my goal. I am being pushed to the point of failure every session. I enjoy the boxing the most its fun and its easier to workout when your having fun, and it feels like i am working out every muscle and cardio all at the same time. The Kettlebell workouts are great, i loved lifting before but it got boring with kettlebell i have to learn all new technique, so i love the challenge and feeling muscle burn that haven't before.. The headline says it all, but let me say this...after spending eight years in the Marines (half of it as a Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor) and getting out in 2008, I have not done something so intense since then. I had done various workout programs, P90x and some others, but none of them even come close to his intense workouts. My neighbor has been going to HITKBFIT for some time now and I was a bit skeptical at first since I never believed in paying to go to a gym. Well, this is no ordinary gym and ever since that first day a few weeks ago...I am hooked. I look forward to the end of the work day to go to the HITKBFITt gym in order to work the days stress away. Over the course of the last 4 years, medical problems have hijacked my life. After gaining nearly 200 lbs during this time, I had all but given up on any semblance of a normal life. Even the smallest of tasks became daunting. Plagued by pain in my back and hips and an ever dwindling supply of energy, everything from housecleaning to playing with my children was oftentimes to much to bear.
After batteries of tests, Doctor's appointments and handfuls of medications yielded no results, I had all but resigned myself to my new lot in life: the rest of my days to be lived out in a delicate balance of sleep, work and pain. I was beginning to believe that I may not be around to see my children grow up...
It was at the height of this despair, eight weeks ago, that my brother referred me to Thayne Shatah.
Over the course of the last two months, Thayne has helped me take control of my life. With his support and instruction, not only have I lost nearly 60 pounds and almost a foot from my waist, but I have gained some things much more valuable, a future and a friend.
Thayne took interest in me when others looked away. He has not only given me the instruction and motivation, he has also given me the confidence to know that I can do this.
I struggled for a bit to find the best way to write this review. For example, I could talk about how hard he works me- or all of his students... I could talk about how well his program has worked for me and the numerous other people that I have met in the time I've been working with him... I could even talk about how sore I am, or how his Marine Corps attitude really makes me feel as If I'm in Parris Island instead of Apollo Beach. But- we all know that training is hard, we all know that our muscles will ache and our joints will be stiff. We expect tough love and motivation.
What I didn't expect is the level of commitment Thayne has given to me. He takes ownership in me and my struggle, he feels that his measure of success is inextricably tied to my own.
My life is mine again, and I have Thayne Shatah to thank.

This AM I met with Thayne for my initial consultation, during this session he addressed my technique with various kettlebell drills (the Swing, TGU, Press, and Snatch). Prior to my visit with Thayne I had primarily worked with a 16kg Kettlebell, but by the end of the session he had me doing a TGU with 32kg, and a set of swings with "the beast". I feel great, minimally sore although quite fatigued and am looking forward to going to some of his group sessions soon.

I just started traning with Thayne several weeks ago. Kettlebells intrigued me! I grew up in a former Soviet Union and remember as a child watching young people work out using kettlebells. My husband and I joined Thayne's gym in late April, 2010. We were primarily motivated to start by watching "The Biggest Loser" on TV and passing Thayne's billboard at the turn for the gym. As new parents, we had drifted out of shape. Within a few weeks, we saw a remarked difference in body composition (walking taller, clothing fitting differently, etc.) and a sharp increase in energy.

I had the pleasure of meeting Thayne while he was the guest instructor at N.E. Kettlebells in Minneapolis. He led an aggressive class and pushed everyone to their limit and just past their personal comfort zone. When he saw I was struggling with mobility issues he stopped me, gave me a modification to keep moving with the rest of the class and still get an awesome workout.

Thayne is one of does trainers who really does care about his clients. He always takes the time to teach you the proper way to do the exercies and his an extremly good motivator. His workouts are always challenging and they re always something new. You can never predict what you re going to do in there. One day you ll be using the kettle Bells and the next you ll be outside pick up this huge tractor tire he calls "The General". He is very meticulous, form is essential to him. After more than 20 years in the military and several foot injuries, I allowed myself to get in really bad shape. I gained at least 60 pounds and was always out of breath. The simplest activities were not enjoyable in the sunny Florida weather. I was in the worst shape of my life! It was a tough decision to humble myself and ask for help from a personal trainer when I had always taken care of my own fitness training, along with the help of the Army! I recently had a baby a few months ago. I gained quite a bit of weight, and didn't really work out much when I was pregnant, so I was pretty out of shape when I started doing Kettleball with Thayne. The classes he offers are pretty tough, but you can just feel it in your body that this type of workout is going to work probably 3 times faster than any other workout. I have only been going for a few weeks, but I have already lost 7 pounds, and I can actually feel my abs again. With such a busy schedule, it's great to know all I have to do to get in shape is go and workout with Thayne three times a week for an hour. You can't get much better than that.

I have to say it was very hard but it was also fun at the same time. I wish that I lived in Florida so I could enjoy his workouts on a regular basis. Without question, Thayne is THE trainer to which all other trainers should aim to be. The workouts that he puts together challenge your body and your mind. My main problem is that I didn't believe that I could do another rep or even attempt some exercises. With Thayne I have learned that it is mind over matter, if I don't mind it doesn't matter.
Even in a class with other members, Thayne always pays attention to each client and their needs. He encourages and motivates you.
Thayne puts a lot of effort into devloping the workouts. Although every class is different they have one thing in common, they kick my butt. That is exactly what I need. I know as long as I come to class, follow Thayne's instruction and eat properly my goals are well within reach.

Prior to working out with Thayne- I ran, did crunches and worked out on my Nordic Track machine,a few times a week. I had no idea how out of shape I was until I met Thayne and started his regime. I recently suffered a major tendon rupture to my arm. After having surgery and going through rehab I finally was cleared to return to work. I know I had put on a few pounds having been sidelined for about three months. During that time my wife and son had been working out with Thayne and I noticed incredible results. I went to Thayne and told him I needed to get back in shape. I explained my injury to him and expressed my concerns about re-injuring my arm. Thayne worked with me and slowly guided me through work outs, regaining my confidence with my arm and building the strength back that I needed to do my job. I have been working with Thayne for about a month. I am someone who has never liked working out. I am a busy Mom with 3 kids. I could never find the time or motivation to get moving. I decided for my 8 yr wedding anniversary I wanted to get to my wedding weight. I met with Thayne and he explained what we would be doing and I had to be committed. Every time I walk through his door, I know I am going to give everything I have in that hour, and it feels good. We have done Kettlebells, flipped tires, jump squats, pull ups and many more exercises. Thayne is all about educating the person he is training on how to do the exercise and why they do each exercise. It has been extremely helpful for me to understand how each move is affecting me and how it will transform my body when I do it correctly. I have made it halfway to my goal so far and have one month left to get there. I am confident if I stick with Thayne he will motivate me and push me to meet that goal. His techniques are cutting edge and you will see results almost immediately. I saw my body lose inches, tighten up and increase muscle strength. I have been training with thayne since april. I usually make it two days a week and i do see some difference already. I really love the workouts because i feel pushed more than when i just go to the gym to lift weights. I feel that if i can stick with this training i will see some major results in a couple of months. Thayne is encouraging and keeps pushing you which is the motivation that alot of people need. I have done alot of exercises from kettlebell training, flipping tires, swinging sledgehammers, and all types of squats that i have never done before. Over the few years (8) I've been training I never had a trainer because I had the drive and knowledge to push myself in the right direction. I could have continued to do what I've always done w/ respectable results but I wanted something more and was becoming bored with traditional weight lifting in your everyday fitness establishments. So one day on my way home from work I decided to stop by and check out Thayne's gym.
From the second I began my 1st session I knew I had found the place for me. Thayne is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of training but provided me with excellent instruction on the proper techniques of training with kettle bells. Prior to coming to Thayne I had no clue how to properly train with a KB but knew they were very beneficial. Thayne took each exercise and broke down the movement/range of motion into individual steps. He made sure I understood each step and performed them properly prior to allowing me to perform the exercise in its entirety.
I have only been training with Thayne for 3 weeks now but have noticed dramatic increases in my performance on the football field and basketball court (quickness, vertical leap, eye hand coordination) along with the traditional benefits of training (e.g. Fat loss). The only training I've ever done that has come close to the workouts Thayne provides was when I trained for collegiate sports, but even those training sessions lacked what Thayne brings to the table. I am confident that the KB training is directly related to my sport performance increase as it has strengthened my hips (an area that is neglected, even by professional athletes) and core, allowing me to be more explosive and stable during games.
Every training session I come to is new and I look forward to working hard and being pushed to my limits. There is no greater feeling that completing a training session with Thayne and being completely exhausted because you know he has brought out the best in you. I can't wait to see the heights I can reach using KB training with Thayne.
It is with complete confidence that I recommend Thayne and KB training to any and everyone I come into contact with. I could not be more pleased with the KB training and general training I've received from Thayne.

To be completely honest, this is by far one of the most intense workout regiments I have ever been a part of. Thayne does an amazing job keeping you both motivated and pumped throughout his workouts. About 5 months prior to working with Thayne I tore my miniscus in a football injury, I went through therapy for 2 months and didnt get the results I was hoping for. Today was my second day training with Thayne and our first day using the kettle ball. Thayne was patient and made sure he took the time to show me all of the fundamentals 1 step at a time in order to prevent injury and get the most from my workout. I am still pretty young in my workouts with Thayne, however I can tell you that in the short amount of time I have been working out with him I have never been more motivated. I have known Thayne for quite sometime and finally decided to work out with him. I had been using kettlebells for a few months and got good results. It wasn't until working out with Thayne that I realized how bad my technique was. Proper technique gets great results. I've never met anyone as passionate as Thayne when it comes to physical fitness. He will patiently work with you until you get the proper Kettlebell form and technique. Not only will he train you, he'll also add in a few history and science lessons on what Kettlebells are all about.

Over the past 3 years my weight and body shape has fluctuated. My clothes stopped fitting and I began to lose confidence. With bathing suit season and my wedding approaching, I became determined not to spend another year avoiding the beach. In the past, I haven't been able to stick to a strength training routine with machines at the gym so I only focused on cardio. I started working out with Thayne because I wasn't seeing the results I wanted just by using the treadmill. Thayne keeps the workouts innovative and very challenging. A little over a year ago, I took my 17 year old son to Thayne to toughen him up, increase his strength and build his confidence. Mission accomplished! My boy put up, threw up and grew up, learning what hard work can do for you.
Then I sent my wife to him. Needless to say, she learned a lot about ThAYNE PAIN, made significant progress and has been bitten by the fitness bug. She's a convert who understands that limits are made to be broken.

When you ask people what the hardest and most frustrating part of working out is you get mixed responses. Some say not having the motivation, others say not having the knowledge of what to do while at the gym and some say not having the education of proper nutrition to assist them with their goals. With Thayne however, none of those frustrations arise. From the first day I stepped into Hit KB Fit, Thayne treated me like he had trained me my whole life. We went over my goals and my nutritional plan and we adapted it for what I wanted to accomplish. When it was time for me to begin my workout he went over every exercise with me in depth to make sure I had the proper knowledge and correct form. Then, once I started backing down at all he would be right there providing the motivation I needed to finish my workout with all of my ability. As a P.E teacher and avid member of athletics in general, I thought I knew just about everything when it came to exercise; little did I know I was just beginning. I have heard about the Kettle Bell workouts and the intensity that it ensued but I never got the chance to experience it. Needless to say my curiosity was peaked. During the very first workout I saw how hard it this Kettle Bell thing was going to be. I worked as hard that first night as I have probably ever had. I now thanks to Thayne's help I have lost the "freshman fifteen" that I gained in college and put on a good five pounds of muscle just in the past two weeks. Thayne has really taken the time to help me basically relearn how to work out. At first it was only twice a week, I now go as many times as I can. I like to push myself, but this is a whole new way to get results. All of the things that Thayne has taught me have really worked and each time I go, there is a new challenge. I have had many trainers in the past but his training is unique, diverse and out of the ordinary. That makes it fun! Let's face it, no results means no fun, right? The core strength build-up and muscle confusion seems to work for me. The kettle bell routines really make a difference. Unless you experience it, you can not understand what is like to have an effective work out, which does not waste time. The practice of Kettle bell is tremendously beneficial if and only if you are taught the right form and technique. Pushing 50, I found though I was working out regular and following a pretty strick diet I was still gaining weight. I am in law enforcement, so its very important to stay fit and strong. A friend of mine, who is very fit had started to workout with a new instructor. She described her first several sessions with him and a small group of other people. She asked if I'd like to come try it. So, the end of August 2009 I did my first workout with Thayne. Now six sizes and 25lbs later I feel incredible.
Through the years I have tried numerous instructors, video workout routines,every diet under the sun; it either didn't work or became so boring after about six weeks and I'd quit or I'd loss weight soon gain it right back with more.

I've been working out for 20 plus years. You know the drill, going heavy chasing that almighty pump. For the past five years, I had been struggling to get that pump, when made it into the gym that is. Pain here and there, work, family, you name it, anything and everything kept me out of the gym. Finally, I can look in the mirror and be proud! Thanks to Thayne's innovative techniques and concentration on core strength, I now have more than a flat belly. I have a chizeled six pack. Not only that, my overall strenght has increased dramatically because of the unique kettle bell excercises that Thayne integrates into his programs.

I use to dance competitively which ended abruptly with an injury, then life took over, kids, crisis,family, husband, and career. In turn my personal needs and appearence took a back seat. My health was horrible and my eating habits were simply "eat what I can when I can" I had searched and tried everything from personal trainers, big gyms to the latest aerobic fads. I come from the school of "lift heavy, get big", until I injured my shoulders, preventing any overhead lifting. With no chest or shoulder work out in my future, I thought my days of being in top physical shape were over. I was wrong. I discussed my issues with Thayne, injured and wanted to get ripped for my wedding which was 6 months away. He customized my workout in efforts to not only rehab my shoulders, but to bring definition to both my chest and shoulders. My first workout with him I didn't last 22 minutes. It was like no workout I have ever had. High intensity and against the norm. The days of 4 sets of anything were over. Thayne is a unique instructor. He is results oriented and a superb motivator. I went to Thayne to shape my stomach after years of neglect having reached the age of 60. Thayne started me out with a diet that increased my metabolism and reduced calorie intake. This was followed by a strict regiment of training that involved tire flipping, muscle toning and kettlebell training. Within weeks I saw definite results. The flab around my stomach began to disappear and my waist line came down from 37 to 35. The next 4 weeks were dedicated to conditioning and weight loss. I am now down to 34 waist and feel confident of my ability to maintain my weight and waist line. Thayne made me believe in myself and he was there every step of the way. I started working with Thayne a month ago with some limitations due to an ankle injury and limited mobility in my shoulder, and he has alternatives for these limitations. I have never worked with a personal trainer before. I think that Thayne has to be one of the best trainers in his field. I have been working out with Thayne for the past three months and I have lost both inches and pounds. I attend Thayne's group classes, his classes are both challenging and fun. The thing I like most is how Thayne is able to keep me motivated by switching up his programs. You never know what you are going to do from day to day. We box, flip tires, bear crawl, swing the sledge hammer, run sprints, push jeeps, jump rope and he also introduced me to the kettle bell. The kettle bell is the core of our workout routine and Thayne has taught me how to use this tool properly and get results. I love to work out now and cannot wait to go to my next class at "Thayne's House of Pain"

I have always been a very physical person. I started riding when I was five and have always done the demanding physical chores asssociated with being raised on a small ranch. I started playing tennis in my early 40's (am now 64) and always thought I was in pretty good shape but knew there was room for improvement especially as I started to get older. At age 63 I made a commitment to myself to get in shape. I started working with a trainer at the tennis facility where I belong. Because I sometimes have a knee issue I informed the trainer I was limited to certain movements. He was determined to fix my knee and he fixed it to the point I was unable to play tennis for almost two months which included physical therapy.
After my knee recovery I was still committed to continue with my goal. It was as that time I learned about Thayne. I started working with Thayne in the fall of '08. The difference between the two trainers has been a total contrast. When I was working with the first trainer, the only reason I continued was because I had made the committment to myself. Working with Thayne I do it not only because of the committment, but because it's never boring and I look forward to each session. Thayne's HIT Principle (High Intensity) is exactly what it says. The sessions are very intense and rewarding at the same time. I made him aware at the beginning of our relationship I had a knee issue. He uderstood the situation and has adjusted my workouts so they have a very low or no impact on my knee.
The BIG PLUS has been, after a routine physical in December ( only 3 months since working with Thayne) my Dr. said to keep doing what I was doing, because all my tests (bloodwork,EKG, etc. was 100% better than it had been 6 months before. Thayne is very knowledgeable about his profession. We work hard, but we have fun. His methods are not the typical bench press, lifting weights, etc. He is very creative in what he does and I would highly recommend anyone interested in becoming physically fit, while at the same time having fun and being challenged to contact Thayne. He will definitely make a difference in your life.

I was surprised to learn that I did not have to sacrifice my favorite foods in order to lose weight! I ate a healthy diet before coming starting Thayne's program, but it was not a healthy BALANCE of foods. Thayne taught me to balance my diet, actually eat more frequently and increase my intake of water. In combination with his workouts and kettlebell instruction, I am happy to say that I have been able to loss 25 pounds in 2.5 months. I work hard at watching what I eat and working out at least 2 times a week with Thayne and 2 times a week by myself. I am still working hard for my goal on 50 pounds but there is no doubt that I will be able to achieve that goal with the Thayne's help!

I begin training with Thayne on March 3rd, 2009. One short month later I had dropped from 232 lbs to 215 lbs. This to go along with 8 inches that I lost (mostly in my hips and belly), I feel better than I have in years.
My endurance and strength are at levels I have never had them before even when I was a two-sport varsity athlete in high school. This is all due to Thayne's combination of high intensity training and the detailed nutrition plan he has provided me with. Thayne's training system just goes to show that we all have it in us to be fit; we just need to be equipped with the right tools.
Thayne's workouts are rigorous and tiring while at the same time being wholly original. I can honestly say that I have never done the same workout twice. From something as simple as running to the more complex exercises involving kettle bells, Thayne's workouts give you the "total body workout" that you only hear about on infomercials. This, however, is the real deal.

I started working out with Thayne to really tone up for my wedding. When I first started with him I used to call myself a "skinny fat girl," because I have always had a small frame but I was out shape and my clothes were feeling tight. Now after only 4 months I have seen a dramatic change in my body and my friends have noticed as well. My arms are toned, my stomach is flat and I am noticeably stronger due to kettlebell training. I started out barely able to do 5 pushs-ups on my knees, now I am doing 25 regular push-ups at a time with no problem!
Thayne has worked with me to achieve the tone that I was missing and shed a few pounds.
